Yann E. MORIN 05595cbeac package/gpsd: bump to 3.24
In 3.24, the NTRIP and NMEA0183 drivers are now always enabled, so the
configure options ntrip and nmea0183 have been removed (upstream commits
f8cf4c922 and 838220fee respectively).

As a consequence, drop the options in menuconfig. We do not need to add
legacy support for those options. Indeed, users who had those enabled
will still get the feature, and those who did not will get them, in both
cases without loss of feature.

Finally, we need to fix a runtime issue that makes the kernel segfault
(yeah, that much), because upstream has been yoda-ifying their code, and
they actually borked a comparison. The issue has been fixed upstream,
but that is in a patch tha cobbles up many changes and brings new stuff,
so we just fix the issue with an unupstreamable patch (which we can drop
when we bump when upstream tags a newer release and we update).

Sergey Matyukevich f3ef0723cf package/gpsd: enable python support and modules
Add option that enables gpsd python support including modules, tools,
and gpsfake test harness. If python is enabled then install python
modules unconditionally. Note that gpsd python modules run compatibly
under Python 2 and 3.x for x >= 2. So enable gpsd python support when
any Python version is enabled in board configuration. If no Python is
enabled, but gpsd Python support is requested, then select Python 3.

Robert Hancock f32cf8e752 package/gpsd: bump version to 3.20
Removes BR2_PACKAGE_GPSD_PPS config option, since PPS functionality is
no longer optional and always enabled in gpsd's SCons configuration.

Removed passing ntpshm=y to SCons since that feature is also no longer
optional.

Added a patch adapted from changes merged upstream post-3.20 to fix a
build failure during cross-compilation when checking sizeof(time_t)
and where shared libraries were being linked with ld rather than g++.

Thomas De Schampheleire 35eaed8d07 Config.in files: use if/endif instead of 'depends on' for main symbol
In the Config.in file of package foo, it often happens that there are other
symbols besides BR2_PACKAGE_FOO. Typically, these symbols only make sense
when foo itself is enabled. There are two ways to express this: with
    depends on BR2_PACKAGE_FOO
in each extra symbol, or with
    if BR2_PACKAGE_FOO
        ...
    endif
around the entire set of extra symbols.

The if/endif approach avoids the repetition of 'depends on' statements on
multiple symbols, so this is clearly preferred. But even when there is only
one extra symbol, if/endif is a more logical choice:
- it is future-proof for when extra symbols are added
- it allows to have just one strategy instead of two (less confusion)

This patch modifies the Config.in files accordingly.

Thomas Petazzoni b0a72f02ad gpsd: do not allow profiling support on AArch64
The profiling support is not available on AArch64, causing build
failures such as:

  http://autobuild.buildroot.net/results/724f8646e1c2c28cf187f2313244d1e3e61b4c25/

According to Will Newton, function profiling will only be added in the
next version of the AArch64 Linaro toolchain. This indicates it is a
rather new feature in AArch64, so for the moment, just disallow
profiling on AArch64. We can revise this later, when this feature has
been made available in Linaro toolchains, and official gcc releases
(for internal toolchain support).

Thomas De Schampheleire be084204eb Config.in files: add missing dependencies to toolchain option comments
When a package A depends on config option B and toolchain option C, then
the comment that is given when C is not fulfilled should also depend on B.
For example:

config BR2_PACKAGE_A
	depends on BR2_B
	depends on BR2_LARGEFILE
	depends on BR2_WCHAR

comment "A needs a toolchain w/ largefile, wchar"
	depends on !BR2_LARGEFILE || !BR2_WCHAR

This comment should actually be:

comment "A needs a toolchain w/ largefile, wchar"
	depends on BR2_B
	depends on !BR2_LARGEFILE || !BR2_WCHAR

or if possible (typically when B is a package config option declared in that
same Config.in file):

if BR2_B

comment "A needs a toolchain w/ largefile, wchar"
	depends on !BR2_LARGEFILE || !BR2_WCHAR

[other config options depending on B]

endif

Otherwise, the comment would be visible even though the other dependencies
are not met.

This patch adds such missing dependencies, and changes existing such
dependencies from
  depends on BR2_BASE_DEP && !BR2_TOOLCHAIN_USES_GLIBC
to
  depends on BR2_BASE_DEP
  depends on !BR2_TOOLCHAIN_USES_GLIBC
so that (positive) base dependencies are separate from the (negative)
toolchain dependencies. This strategy makes it easier to write such comments
(because one can simply copy the base dependency from the actual package
config option), but also avoids complex and long boolean expressions.

Thomas Petazzoni 381616e77a Introduce BR2_TOOLCHAIN_USES_{UCLIBC, GLIBC}
Currently, when we need to do a conditional on the type of C library
used, we need to take into account the three toolchain backends. As we
are going to add eglibc support to the Buildroot toolchain backend, it
would become even uglier, so this patch introduces two new hidden
options: BR2_TOOLCHAIN_USES_UCLIBC and BR2_TOOLCHAIN_USES_GLIBC, that
exist regardless of the toolchain backend. The entire Buildroot code
base is converted to use those options.

Note that we have intentionally created only one option
(BR2_TOOLCHAIN_USES_GLIBC) for both glibc and eglibc, since they are
essentially the same, as far as Buildroot is concerned.
