Linux-2.6.12-rc2 Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!

[PATCH] USB: move handoff code This moves the PCI quirk handling for USB host controllers from the PCI directory to the USB directory. Follow-on patches will need to: (a) merge these copies with the originals in the HCD reset methods. they don't wholly agree, despite doing the very same thing; and (b) eventually change it so "usb-handoff" is the default, to help get more robust USB/BIOS/input/... interactions. xhci: add traces for debug messages in xhci_address_device() This patch declares an event class for trace events that trace messages with variadic arguments, called xhci_log_msg, and defines a trace event for tracing the debug messages in xhci_address_device() function, called xhci_dbg_address. In order to implement this type of trace events, a wrapper function, called xhci_dbg_trace(), was created that records the format string and variadic arguments into a va_format structure which is passed as argument to the tracepoints of the class xhci_log_msg. All the xhci_dbg() calls in xhci_address_device() are replaced with calls to xhci_dbg_trace(). The functionality of xhci_dbg() log messages was not removed though, but it is placed inside xhci_dbg_trace(). This trace event aims to give the ability to the user or the developper to isolate and trace the debug messages generated when an Address Device Command is issued to xHC. usb/xhci: remove CONFIG_PCI in xhci.c's probe function This removes the need of ifdefs within the init function and with it the headache about the correct clean without bus X but with bus/platform Y & Z. xhci-pci is only compiled if CONFIG_PCI is selected which can be de-selected now without trouble. For now the result is kinda useless because we have no other glue code. xhci: mediatek: support MTK xHCI host controller There some vendor quirks for MTK xhci host controller: 1. It defines some extra SW scheduling parameters for HW to minimize the scheduling effort for synchronous and interrupt endpoints. The parameters are put into reseved DWs of slot context and endpoint context. 2. Its IMODI unit for Interrupter Moderation register is 8 times as much as that defined in xHCI spec. 3. Its TDS in Normal TRB defines a number of packets that remains to be transferred for a TD after processing all Max packets in all previous TRBs. USB: ISP1760 HCD driver This driver has been written from scratch and supports the ISP1760. ISP1761 might (should) work as well but the OTG isn't supported. Also ISO packets are not. This can cause unnecessary messages to show up in the kernel log, such as "CONFIG_USB_XHCI_HCD is turned off, defaulting to EHCI" (which makes no sense when the kernel has been configured without host-side USB support). This patch addresses the problem by building pci-quirks.o only when CONFIG_PCI and CONFIG_USB are both enabled. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!

USB: u132-hcd: host controller driver for ELAN U132 adapter This "u132-hcd" module is one half of the "driver" for ELAN's U132 which is a USB to CardBus OHCI controller adapter. This module needs the "ftdi-elan" module in order to communicate to CardBus OHCI controller inserted into the U132 adapter. When the "ftdi-elan" module detects a supported CardBus OHCI controller in the U132 adapter it loads this "u132-hcd" module. Upon a successful device probe() the single workqueue is started up which does all the processing of commands from the USB core that implement the host controller. The workqueue maintains the urb queues and issues commands via the functions exported by the "ftdi-elan" module. Each such command will result in a callback. Note that the "ftdi-elan" module is a USB client driver. Note that this "u132-hcd" module is a (cut-down OHCI) host controller. Thus we have a topology with the parent of a host controller being a USB client! This really stresses the USB subsystem semaphore/mutex handling in the module removal. R8A66597 is Renesas USB 2.0 host and peripheral combined controller device originally designed for embedded products. As a limitation of this device, it does not support externel hub more than 2 tier, and cannot communicate with a USB device more than 10. Then this device is not compatible with EHCI and/or OHCI, I wrote driver support patch based on sl811 code. This driver has the following unique specifications: - Implement transfer timeout to share one pipe with plural endpoint. - Detach detection of a USB device connected to externel hub. The driver has been tested external hub, usb-hdd, usb-cdrom, usb-speaker, mice, keyboard, and usbtest driver. However, if CONFIG_USB is disabled and we only support gadget mode, this causes a Kconfig warning: warning: (USB_FSL_USB2) selects USB_FSL_MPH_DR_OF which has unmet direct dependencies (USB_SUPPORT && USB) We can avoid this warning by simply no longer using the symbol, and making sure we enter the drivers/usb/host/ directory when the UDC driver is enabled that needs the file, and then we use Makefile syntax to ensure the file is built-in if needed. There is currently a dependency on CONFIG_OF, but this is redundant, as we already know that this is set unconditionally for the platforms that use this driver.
