The driver stores crop rectangle settings supposed to be in line with
hardware state in a device private structure. Since the driver initial
submission, crop rectangle width and height settings are not updated
correctly when rectangle offset settings are applied on hardware. If
an error occurs while the device is updated, the stored settings my no
longer reflect hardware state and consecutive calls to .get_selection()
as well as .get/set_fmt() may return incorrect information. That in
turn may affect ability of a bridge device to use correct DMA transfer
settings if such incorrect informamtion on active frame format returned
by .get/set_fmt() is used.
Assuming a failed update of the device means its actual settings haven't
changed, update crop rectangle width and height settings stored in the
device private structure correctly while the rectangle offset is
successfully applied on hardware so the stored values always reflect
actual hardware state to the extent possible.

Commit 4f996594ce ("[media] v4l2: make vidioc_s_crop const")
introduced a writable copy of constified user requested crop rectangle
in order to be able to perform hardware alignments on it. Later
on, commit 10d5509c8d ("[media] v4l2: remove g/s_crop from video
ops") replaced s_crop() video operation using that const argument with
set_selection() pad operation which had a corresponding argument not
constified, however the original behavior of the driver was not
restored. Since that time, any hardware alignment applied on a user
requested crop rectangle is not passed back to the user calling
.set_selection() as it should be.
Fix the issue by dropping the copy and replacing all references to it
with references to the crop rectangle embedded in the user argument.

commit e43148645d upstream.
Fix multiple cases of out of bounds (OOB) read associated with
MCE device receive/input data handling.
In reference for the OOB cases below, the incoming/read (byte) data
format when the MCE device responds to a command is:
{ cmd_prefix, subcmd, data0, data1, ... }
where cmd_prefix are:
MCE_CMD_PORT_SYS
MCE_CMD_PORT_IR
and subcmd examples are:
MCE_RSP_GETPORTSTATUS
MCE_RSP_EQIRNUMPORTS
...
Response size dynamically depends on cmd_prefix and subcmd.
So data0, data1, ... may or may not be present on input.
Multiple responses may return in a single receiver buffer.
The trigger condition for OOB read is typically random or
corrupt input data that fills the mceusb receiver buffer.
Case 1:
mceusb_handle_command() reads data0 (var hi) and data1 (var lo)
regardless of whether the response includes such data.
If { cmd_prefix, subcmd } is at the end of the receiver buffer,
read past end of buffer occurs.
This case was reported by
KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds Read in mceusb_dev_recv
https://syzkaller.appspot.com/bug?extid=c7fdb6cb36e65f2fe8c9
Fix: In mceusb_handle_command(), change variable hi and lo to
pointers, and dereference only when required.
Case 2:
If response with data is truncated at end of buffer after
{ cmd_prefix, subcmd }, mceusb_handle_command() reads past
end of buffer for data0, data1, ...
Fix: In mceusb_process_ir_data(), check response size with
remaining buffer size before invoking mceusb_handle_command().
+ if (i + ir->rem < buf_len)
mceusb_handle_command(ir, &ir->buf_in[i - 1]);
Case 3:
mceusb_handle_command() handles invalid/bad response such as
{ 0x??, MCE_RSP_GETPORTSTATUS } of length 2 as a response
{ MCE_CMD_PORT_SYS, MCE_RSP_GETPORTSTATUS, data0, ... }
of length 7. Read OOB occurs for non-existent data0, data1, ...
Cause is mceusb_handle_command() does not check cmd_prefix value.
Fix: mceusb_handle_command() must test both cmd_prefix and subcmd.
Case 4:
mceusb_process_ir_data() receiver parser state SUBCMD is
possible at start (i=0) of receiver buffer resulting in buffer
offset=-1 passed to mceusb_dev_printdata().
Bad offset results in OOB read before start of buffer.

[1214218.679340] mceusb 1-1.3:1.0: rx data[1]: 7f 7f (length=2)
Fix: If parser_state is SUBCMD after processing receiver buffer,
reset parser_state to CMD_HEADER.
In effect, discard cmd_prefix at end of receiver buffer.
In mceusb_dev_printdata(), abort if buffer offset is out of bounds.
Case 5:
If response with data is truncated at end of buffer after
{ cmd_prefix, subcmd }, mceusb_dev_printdata() reads past
end of buffer for data0, data1, ...
while decoding the response to print out.
Fix: In mceusb_dev_printdata(), remove unneeded buffer offset
adjustments (var start and var skip) associated with MCE gen1 header.
Test for truncated MCE cmd response (compare offset+len with buf_len)
and skip decoding of incomplete response.
Move IR data tracing to execute before the truncation test.

commit 9e08117c9d upstream.
Visual inspection of the usbvision driver shows that it suffers from
three races between its open, close, and disconnect handlers. In
particular, the driver is careful to update its usbvision->user and
usbvision->remove_pending flags while holding the private mutex, but:
usbvision_v4l2_close() and usbvision_radio_close() don't hold
the mutex while they check the value of
usbvision->remove_pending;
usbvision_disconnect() doesn't hold the mutex while checking
the value of usbvision->user; and
also, usbvision_v4l2_open() and usbvision_radio_open() don't
check whether the device has been unplugged before allowing
the user to open the device files.
Each of these can potentially lead to usbvision_release() being called
twice and use-after-free errors.
This patch fixes the races by reading the flags while the mutex is
still held and checking for pending removes before allowing an open to
succeed.

commit c7a1914640 upstream.
The syzbot fuzzer found two invalid-access bugs in the usbvision
driver. These bugs occur when userspace keeps the device file open
after the device has been disconnected and usbvision_disconnect() has
set usbvision->dev to NULL:
When the device file is closed, usbvision_radio_close() tries
to issue a usb_set_interface() call, passing the NULL pointer
as its first argument.
If userspace performs a querycap ioctl call, vidioc_querycap()
calls usb_make_path() with the same NULL pointer.
This patch fixes the problems by making the appropriate tests
beforehand. Note that vidioc_querycap() is protected by
usbvision->v4l2_lock, acquired in a higher layer of the V4L2
subsystem.

commit 6dcd5d7a7a upstream.
There is the same incorrect approach to locking implemented in
vivid_stop_generating_vid_cap(), vivid_stop_generating_vid_out() and
sdr_cap_stop_streaming().
These functions are called during streaming stopping with vivid_dev.mutex
locked. And they all do the same mistake while stopping their kthreads,
which need to lock this mutex as well. See the example from
vivid_stop_generating_vid_cap():
/* shutdown control thread */
vivid_grab_controls(dev, false);
mutex_unlock(&dev->mutex);
kthread_stop(dev->kthread_vid_cap);
dev->kthread_vid_cap = NULL;
mutex_lock(&dev->mutex);
But when this mutex is unlocked, another vb2_fop_read() can lock it
instead of vivid_thread_vid_cap() and manipulate the buffer queue.
That causes a use-after-free access later.
To fix those issues let's:
1. avoid unlocking the mutex in vivid_stop_generating_vid_cap(),
vivid_stop_generating_vid_out() and sdr_cap_stop_streaming();
2. use mutex_trylock() with schedule_timeout_uninterruptible() in
the loops of the vivid kthread handlers.

When vbi stream is started, followed by video streaming,
the vid_cap_streaming and vid_out_streaming were not being set to true,
which would cause the video stream to stop when vbi stream is stopped.
This patch allows to set vid_cap_streaming and vid_out_streaming to true.
According to Hans Verkuil it appears that these 'if (dev->kthread_vid_cap)'
checks are a left-over from the original vivid development and should never
have been there.

Driver will enumerate all res@fps to user, but for ov5640,
when it work in DVP mode, 1080P only can reach 15fps. For

Accroding to ov5640 datasheet, 2592x1944 only support 7.5fps.
But actually, it can reach about 8. For 1080P@30fps in DVP
mode, it can reach 1080P@15fsp, so adding valid mode and fps

The race condition is on ctx->dht_needed, this variable indicates if the
decoder operates in one stage (decode) or two stages (inject default
Huffman table + decode).
While decoding the current buffer, and before the IP finishes it, a new
buffer in enqueued, jpeg parse begins, initializes ctx->dht_needed with
true, and does not get to finish parsing the jpeg headers. In the
meantime, the IP finishes decoding the current buffer and checks for
ctx->dht_needed, and believes it needs to run again the IP to finish
the job, which is wrong and gets the IP stuck.
This dht_needed property should be per buffer, not per context, so, add
a custom structure for the source buffer, struct mxc_jpeg_src_buf, and
don't forget to tell v4l2 core about its size, in mxc_jpeg_queue_init.

This IP is present in i.MX 8QuadMax and i.MX 8DualX/8DualXPlus/8QuadXPlus
application processors.
The mxc-jpeg driver creates two v4l2 file handles in /dev, one for the
decoder, and one for the encoder, which can be used by v4l2 programs.
The multi-planar buffers API is used.
Baseline and extended sequential jpeg decoding is supported.
Progressive jpeg decoding is not supported by the IP.
Supports encode and decode of various formats:
YUV444, YUV422, YUV420, RGB, ARGB, Gray
YUV420 is the only multi-planar format supported.
Minimum resolution is 64 x 64, maximum 8192 x 8192.
The alignment requirements for the resolution depend on the format,
multiple of 16 resolutions should work for all formats.
Special workarounds are made in the driver to support NV12 1080p.
When decoding, the driver detects image resolution and pixel format
from the jpeg stream, parsing the jpeg markers.
The mxc-jpeg driver was tested to work with gstreamer & NXP gst plugins
for jpeg encoder/decoder.
The IP has 4 slots available for context switching, but only slot 0
was fully tested to work. Context switching is not used by the driver.
Each driver instance (context) allocates a slot for itself, but this
is postponed util device_run, to allow unlimited opens.
The driver submits jobs to the IP by setting up a descriptor for the
used slot, and then validating it. The encoder has an additional descriptor
for the configuration phase. The driver expects FRM_DONE interrupt from
IP to mark the job as finished.
The decoder IP has some limitations regarding the component ID's,
but the driver works around this by replacing them in the jpeg stream.
A module parameter is available for debug purpose: jpeg_tracing
The v4l2-compliance basic tests are passing on decoder/encoder nodes.
The driver builds fine as builtin or module.

Since commit c2b71462d2 ("USB: core: Fix bug caused by duplicate
interface PM usage counter") USB drivers must always balance their
runtime PM gets and puts, including when the driver has already been
unbound from the interface.
Leaving the interface with a positive PM usage counter would prevent a
later bound driver from suspending the device.
Note that runtime PM has never actually been enabled for this driver
since the support_autosuspend flag in its usb_driver struct is not set.

This patch is a part of a series that extends kernel ABI to allow to pass
tagged user pointers (with the top byte set to something else other than

videobuf_dma_contig_user_get() uses provided user pointers for vma
lookups, which can only by done with untagged pointers.

There is a bit of mess between cros-ec mfd includes and platform
includes. For example, we have a linux/mfd/cros_ec.h include that
exports the interface implemented in platform/chrome/cros_ec_proto.c. Or
we have a linux/mfd/cros_ec_commands.h file that is non related to the
multifunction device (in the sense that is not exporting any function of
the mfd device). This causes crossed includes between mfd and
platform/chrome subsystems and makes the code difficult to read, apart
from creating 'curious' situations where a platform/chrome driver includes
a linux/mfd/cros_ec.h file just to get the exported functions that are
implemented in another platform/chrome driver.
In order to have a better separation on what the cros-ec multifunction
driver does and what the cros-ec core provides move and rework the
affected includes doing:
- Move cros_ec_commands.h to include/linux/platform_data/cros_ec_commands.h
- Get rid of the parts that are implemented in the platform/chrome/cros_ec_proto.c
driver from include/linux/mfd/cros_ec.h to a new file
include/linux/platform_data/cros_ec_proto.h
- Update all the drivers with the new includes, so
- Drivers that only need to know about the protocol include
- linux/platform_data/cros_ec_proto.h
- linux/platform_data/cros_ec_commands.h
- Drivers that need to know about the cros-ec mfd device also include
- linux/mfd/cros_ec.h

On 32-bits archs, a signed integer has 31 bits plus on extra
bit for signal. Due to that, touching the 32th bit with something
like:
int bar = 1 << 31;

touches the signal bit. This is warned by cppcheck.

As pointed by Sylvester, this should never happen in practice,

Currently, the i2c and spi subdev creation helpers
are calling BUG() when passed a NULL v4l2_device parameter.
This makes little sense; simply returning NULL seems more
sensible.
These two helpers may already return NULL on error, so callers

videodev.ko and v4l2-common.ko driver are built under
the same conditions. Therefore, it doesn't make much sense
to split them in two different modules.
Splitting v4l2-common to its own driver was done many years ago:

V4L/DVB (7115): Fix bug #9833: regression when compiling V4L without I2C
Back then, the subsystem organization was different and the module split
was needed. However, with the current organization, there is no issue
compiling V4L2 with I2C as y/m/n.
This commit makes v4l2-common part of our V4L2 core driver (videodev.ko).

Medion 7134 has two i2c eeproms on the same i2c bus sharing the same bus
addresses: the first one for SAA7134 chip config and the second one behind
TDA10046 DVB-T demod chip i2c gate storing its firmware.
The TV tuner on this board is not behind this i2c gate.
Due to the bus conflict described above, the card PCI SVID / SSID sometimes
gets garbled after a reboot, which makes it necessary to specify the card
model manually as an insmod option in order for it to be detected reliably.
To avoid this, let's just leave the gate permanently closed so the eeprom
chips won't clash.
The demod firmware load is done with its i2c gate closed anyway so it is
not affected by this change.

If cec_notifier_cec_adap_unregister() is called before
cec_unregister_adapter() then everything is OK (and this is the
case today). But if it is the other way around, then
cec_notifier_unregister() is called first, and that doesn't
set n->cec_adap to NULL.
So if e.g. cec_notifier_set_phys_addr() is called after
cec_notifier_unregister() but before cec_unregister_adapter()
then n->cec_adap points to an unregistered and likely deleted
cec adapter. So just set n->cec_adap->notifier and n->cec_adap
to NULL for rubustness.
Eventually cec_notifier_unregister will disappear and this will
be simplified substantially.

In case of sensor malfunction, stop streaming timeout takes much longer
than expected. This is due to conversion of time to jiffies: milliseconds
multiplied with HZ (ticks/second) gives out a value of jiffies with 10^3
greater. We need to also divide by 10^3 to obtain the right jiffies value.
In other words FRAME_INTERVAL_MILLI_SEC must be in seconds in order to
multiply by HZ and get the right jiffies value to add to the current
jiffies for the timeout expire time.

Stateless decoders have different expectations about the
start code that is prepended on H264 slices. Add a
menu control to express the supported start code types
(including no start code).
Drivers are allowed to support only one start code type,
but they can support both too.
Note that this is independent of the H264 decoding mode,
which specifies the granularity of the decoding operations.
Either in frame-based or slice-based mode, this new control
will allow to define the start code expected on H264 slices.

Some stateless decoders don't support per-slice decoding granularity
(or at least not in a way that would make them efficient or easy to use).
Expose a menu to control the supported decoding modes. Drivers are
allowed to support only one decoding but they can support both too.
To fully specify the decoding operation, we need to introduce
a start_byte_offset, to indicate where slices start.

The V4L2_PIX_FMT_H264_SLICE_RAW name was originally suggested
because the pixel format would represent H264 slices without any
start code.
However, as we will now introduce a start code menu control,
give the pixel format a more meaningful name, while it's
still early enough to do so.

Some users have been having a hard time finding the hidden
menus. A typically case are camera sensor drivers
(e.g IMX219, OV5645, etc), which are common on embedded
platforms and not really "ancillary" devices.
The problem with MEDIA_SUBDRV_AUTOSELECT seems to be related
to the fact that it uses the "visible" syntax to hide
the menus.
This is not obvious and it normally takes some time to
figure out.
To fix the problem, add a comment on each of hidden menus,
which should clarify what option is causing menus to be hidden.

This is mostly a port of Jacopo's fix:
commit aa4bb8b883
Author: Jacopo Mondi <jacopo@jmondi.org>
Date: Fri Jul 6 05:51:52 2018 -0400
media: ov5640: Re-work MIPI startup sequence
In the OV5645 case, the changes are:
- At set_power(1) time power up MIPI Tx/Rx and set data and clock lanes in
LP11 during 'sleep' and 'idle' with MIPI clock in non-continuous mode.
- At set_power(0) time power down MIPI Tx/Rx (in addition to the current
power down of regulators and clock gating).
- At s_stream time enable/disable the MIPI interface output.
With this commit the sensor is able to enter LP-11 mode during power up,
as expected by some CSI-2 controllers.
Many thanks to Fabio Estevam for his help debugging this issue.

There are only few users, so this patch converts the I2C core and all

This reverts commit b6c61a6c37.
The requested pixelformat is being propagated from the capture to the
tpg in the sensor.
This was a bad design choice, as we start having the following issues:
* We set a pixelformat in the capture;
* We set matching media bus formats in the subdevices pads;
* Link validate looks fine (sizes matches, media bus formats matches);
* Issue: if some of the subdevice doesn't know how to generate the
requested pixelformat in the capture, then stream_on fails. This is bad
because capture says it supports that pixelformat, everything looks
fine, but it is not, and there is no way to find it out through the
links.
This patch was implemented so we could request any pixelformat from the
pipeline regardeless of the media bus format configured between pads.
Not all pixelformat can be mapped into a media bus code (e.g.
multiplanar formats), so with this patch we could request those
pixelformats from the tpg.
Solution: map pixelformats to media bus codes as before, and implement
conversions to other pixelformats in the capture to support multiplanar.
So first step to this solution is to revert this patch.

This patch fixes the following v4l2-compliance failures:
- FIELD_ANY could be returned, which is not allowed.
- JPEG colorspace was set instead of SRGB.
- No control events.
- Empty bus_info in QUERYCAP.
- Overlay format handling wasn't zeroing bitmap/clips and
didn't return the chromakey correctly.
- G_FBUF didn't fill in many of the v4l2_framebuffer values.
Now also return the base address of the corresponding
framebuffer that this overlays.
- Missing ENUM/G/S_OUTPUT ioctls.
- ROTATE/VFLIP controls were added when the HW didn't support them.
With these changes 'v4l2-compliance' passes all non-streaming tests.

The OMAP 4 TRM specifies that when using double-index addressing
the address increases by the ES plus the EI value minus 1 within
a frame. When a full frame is transferred, the address increases
by the ES plus the frame index (FI) value minus 1.
The omap-dma code didn't account for the 'minus 1' in the FI register.
To get correct addressing, add 1 to the src_icg value.
This was found when testing a hacked version of the media m2m-deinterlace.c
driver on a Pandaboard.
The only other source that uses this feature is omap_vout_vrfb.c,
and that adds a + 1 when setting the dst_icg. This is a workaround
for the broken omap-dma.c behavior. So remove the workaround at the
same time that we fix omap-dma.c.
I tested the omap_vout driver with a Beagle XM board to check that
the '+ 1' in omap_vout_vrfb.c was indeed a workaround for the omap-dma
bug.

This refactors code for start/stop streaming vb2 operations and
adds a state machine handling similar to the one in stateful codec
API documentation. One major change is that now the HFI session is
started on STREAMON(OUTPUT) and stopped on REQBUF(OUTPUT,count=0),
during that time STREAMOFF(CAP,OUT) just flush buffers but doesn't
stop the session. The other major change is that now the capture
and output queues are completely separated.

A bugfix introduce a link failure in configurations without CONFIG_MODULES:
In file included from drivers/media/usb/dvb-usb/pctv452e.c:20:0:
drivers/media/usb/dvb-usb/pctv452e.c: In function 'pctv452e_frontend_attach':
drivers/media/dvb-frontends/stb0899_drv.h:151:36: error: weak declaration of 'stb0899_attach' being applied to a already existing, static definition
The problem is that the !IS_REACHABLE() declaration of stb0899_attach()
is a 'static inline' definition that clashes with the weak definition.
I further observed that the bugfix was only done for one of the five users
of stb0899_attach(), the other four still have the problem. This reverts
the bugfix and instead addresses the problem by not dropping the reference
count when calling '->detach()', instead we call this function directly
in dvb_frontend_put() before dropping the kref on the front-end.
I first submitted this in early 2018, and after some discussion it
was apparently discarded. While there is a long-term plan in place,
that plan is obviously not nearing completion yet, and the current
kernel is still broken unless this patch is applied.
