Lee Jones 9d3f653f45 mfd: ab8500-gpadc: Remove unused 'struct ab8500_gpadc'
The ab8500_gpadc structure carries lots of important information which
most functions make good use of. The initial expectation was that
ab8500_gpadc_runtime_idle() would be no exception; however, this hasn't
been the case to date. Let's remove it for now and add it back in only
when we have a use for it.

Ashish Jangam 0a8c290ac5 mfd: da9052/53 lockup fix
An issue has been reported where the PMIC either locks up or fails to
respond following a system Reset. This could result in a second write
in which the bus writes the current content of the write buffer to address
of the last I2C access.

The failure case is where this unwanted write transfers incorrect data to
a critical register.

This patch fixes this issue to by following any read or write with a dummy read
to a safe register address. A safe register address is one where the contents
will not affect the operation of the system.

Paer-Olof Haakansson 34c11a709e u8500-charger: Delay for USB enumeration
If charging is started before USB enumeration of an Accessory
Charger Adapter has finished, the AB8500 will generate a
VBUS_ERROR. This in turn results in timeouts and delays the
enumeration with around 15 seconds. This patch delays the
charging and then ramps currents slowly to avoid VBUS errors.
The delay allows the enumeration to have finished before
charging is turned on.

Linus Walleij 1f0529b4d8 mfd: tc3589x: Use simple irqdomain
This fixes a regression in the TC3589x driver introduced in
commit 15e27b1088
"mfd: Provide the tc3589x with its own IRQ domain"

If a system with a TC3589x expander is booted and a base
IRQ is passed from platform data, a legacy domain will
be used. However, since the Ux500 is now switched to use
SPARSE_IRQ, no descriptors get allocated on-the-fly,
and we get a crash.

Fix this by switching to using the simple irqdomain that
will handle this uniformly and also allocates descriptors
explicitly.

Also fix two small whitespace errors in the vicinity while
we're at it.

Linus Walleij 89d9b1c993 mfd: db8500-prcmu: Fix irqdomain usage

Linus Torvalds 2dfea3803d This is the MFD patch set for the 3.8 merge window.
We have several new drivers, most of the time coming with their sub devices
 drivers:

 - Austria Microsystem's AS3711
 - Nano River's viperboard
 - TI's TPS80031, AM335x TS/ADC,
 - Realtek's MMC/memstick card reader
 - Nokia's retu

We also got some notable cleanups and improvements:

 - tps6586x got converted to IRQ domains.
 - tps65910 and tps65090 moved to the regmap IRQ API.
 - STMPE is now Device Tree aware.
 - A general twl6040 and twl-core cleanup, with moves to the regmap I/O and IRQ
APIs and a conversion to the recently added PWM framework.
 - sta2x11 gained regmap support.

Then the rest is mostly tiny cleanups and fixes, among which we have Mark's
 wm5xxx and wm8xxx patchset.

Far amount of annoying but largely trivial conflicts. Many due to
__devinit/exit removal, others due to one or two of the new drivers also
having come in through another tree.

Instead of using cpu_is_omap..() macros in the device driver we

The only information we need is whether the USB Host module has

Linus Torvalds b8edf848e9 ARM: arm-soc: multiplatform conversion patches
Here are more patches in the progression towards multiplatform, sparse
 irq conversions in particular.

Tegra has a handful of cleanups and general groundwork, but is
not quite there yet on full enablement.

Platforms that are enabled through this branch are VT8500 and Zynq. note
that i.MX was converted in one of the earlier cleanup branches as
well (before we started a separate topic for multiplatform). And both
new platforms for this merge window, sunxi and bcm, were merged with
 multiplatform support enabled.

Tegra has a handful of cleanups and general groundwork, but is not

Platforms that are enabled through this branch are VT8500 and Zynq.
Note that i.MX was converted in one of the earlier cleanup branches as

Linus Torvalds d027db132b ARM: arm-soc: SoC updates for 3.8
This contains the bulk of new SoC development for this merge window.

Two new platforms have been added, the sunxi platforms (Allwinner A1x
SoCs) by Maxime Ripard, and a generic Broadcom platform for a new
series of ARMv7 platforms from them, where the hope is that we can
keep the platform code generic enough to have them all share one mach
directory. The new Broadcom platform is contributed by Christian Daudt.

Highbank has grown support for Calxeda's next generation of hardware,
 ECX-2000.

clps711x has seen a lot of cleanup from Alexander Shiyan, and he's also
taken on maintainership of the platform.

Beyond this there has been a bunch of work from a number of people on
converting more platforms to IRQ domains, pinctrl conversion, cleanup
and general feature enablement across most of the active platforms.

Linus Torvalds 6a5971d8fe Char/Misc driver merge for 3.8-rc1
Here is the "big" char/misc driver patches for 3.8-rc1. I'm starting to
put random driver subsystems that I had previously sent you through the
driver-core tree in this tree, as it makes more sense to do so.

Nothing major here, the various __dev* removals, some mei driver
updates, and other random driver-specific things from the different
 maintainers and developers.

Note, some MFD drivers got added through this tree, and they are also
coming in through the "real" MFD tree as well, due to some major
mis-communication between me and the different developers. If you have
any merge conflicts, take the ones from the MFD tree, not these ones,
 sorry about that.

Linus Torvalds cff2f741b8 Driver core updates for 3.8-rc1
Here's the large driver core updates for 3.8-rc1.

The biggest thing here is the various __dev* marking removals. This is
going to be a pain for the merge with different subsystem trees, I know,
but all of the patches included here have been ACKed by their various
subsystem maintainers, as they wanted them to go through here.

If this is too much of a pain, I can pull all of them out of this tree
and just send you one with the other fixes/updates and then, after
3.8-rc1 is out, do the rest of the removals to ensure we catch them all,
it's up to you. The merges should all be trivial, and Stephen has been
doing them all in linux-next for a few weeks now quite easily.

Other than the __dev* marking removals, there's nothing major here, some
firmware loading updates and other minor things in the driver core.

All of these have (much to Stephen's annoyance), been in linux-next for
 a while.

Lee Jones 23a04f9f40 ab8500_bm: Always send platform specific battery information via pdata
Currently the AB8500 battery management subsystem receives platform
specific information via two different means depending on how the
platform is booted. If DT is not enabled, a reference to a *_bm_data
data structure containing each platform specific attribute is passed
though platform_data. However, if DT is enabled, then platform_data
is empty and the reference is gained though a DT specific probe
function. There are two issues here 1) the same reference is
being collected each time and 2) the DT way doesn't allow any
provisions to select different platform specific attributes, which
kind of defeats the object.

Kalle Jokiniemi 8b41669ceb mfd: twl4030: Fix chained irq handling on resume from suspend
The irqs are enabled one-by-one in pm core resume_noirq phase.
This leads to situation where the twl4030 primary interrupt
handler (PIH) is enabled before the chained secondary handlers
(SIH). As the PIH cannot clear the pending interrupt, and
SIHs have not been enabled yet, a flood of interrupts hangs
the device.

Fixed the issue by setting the SIH irqs with IRQF_EARLY_RESUME
flags, so they get enabled before the PIH.

Paul Bolle 0c418844dc mfd: lpc_ich: One uninitialized cell is no error
At every boot of an (outdated) laptop lpc_ich prints an error:
    lpc_ich 0000:00:1f.0: I/O space for GPIO uninitialized

But if one looks at lpc_ich's probe function one notices that the code
only cares if both lpc_ich_init_wdt() and lpc_ich_init_gpio() fail to
add any cells. So stop treating the failure to add a single cell as an
error. Those messages can be printed at notice level. And then only warn
if no cells were added.

Peter Hurley e294bc9176 mfd: lpc_ich: Fix resource request for [mem 0x00000000]
The older southbridges supported by the lpc_ich driver do not
provide memory-mapped space of the root complex. The driver
correctly avoids computing the iomem address in this case, yet
submits a zeroed resource request anyway (via mfd_add_devices()).

Remove the iomem resource from the resource array submitted to the
mfd core for the older southbridges.

Peter Ujfalusi afc45898f6 mfd: twl-core: Support for proper PWM drivers
The twl6030-pwm driver is going to be deleted since it was only able to
control the Charging indicator LED on the twl6030 PMIC.
The new set of drivers are going to provide support for both PWMs and PWM
driven LED outputs on TWL4030 and TWL6030 PMICs.
The twl-pwm driver will handle the PWMs (2 instance) while the twl-pwmled
driver is to control the two LED instance on TWL4030 and to charging
indicator LED (1 instance) on TWL6030.
