Sukadev Bhattiprolu 51b537124f powerpc/vas: Validate window credits
NX-842, the only user of VAS, sets the window credits to default values
but VAS should check the credits against the possible max values.

The VAS_WCREDS_MIN is not needed and can be dropped.

Alexey Kardashevskiy 9003a24981 powerpc/powernv/ioda: Remove explicit max window size check
DMA windows can only have a size of power of two on IODA2 hardware and
using memory_hotplug_max() to determine the upper limit won't work
correcly if it returns not power of two value.

This removes the check as the platform code does this check in
pnv_pci_ioda2_setup_default_config() anyway; the other client is VFIO
and that thing checks against locked_vm limit which prevents the userspace
from locking too much memory.

It is expected to impact DPDK on machines with non-power-of-two RAM size,
mostly. KVM guests are less likely to be affected as usually guests get
less than half of hosts RAM.

Shriya cd77b5ce20 powerpc/powernv/cpufreq: Fix the frequency read by /proc/cpuinfo
The call to /proc/cpuinfo in turn calls cpufreq_quick_get() which
returns the last frequency requested by the kernel, but may not
reflect the actual frequency the processor is running at. This patch
makes a call to cpufreq_get() instead which returns the current
frequency reported by the hardware.

Cyril Bur 9aab24495c powerpc/opal: Add opal_async_wait_response_interruptible() to opal-async
This patch adds an _interruptible version of opal_async_wait_response().
This is useful when a long running OPAL call is performed on behalf of
a userspace thread, for example, the opal_flash_{read,write,erase}
functions performed by the powernv-flash MTD driver.

It is foreseeable that these functions would take upwards of two
minutes causing the wait_event() to block long enough to cause hung
task warnings. Furthermore, wait_event_interruptible() is preferable
as otherwise there is no way for signals to stop the process which is
going to be confusing in userspace.

Stewart Smith 95e1bc1daa powernv/opal-sensor: remove not needed lock
Parallel sensor reads could run out of async tokens due to
opal_get_sensor_data grabbing tokens but then doing the sensor
read behind a mutex, essentially serializing the (possibly
asynchronous and relatively slow) sensor read.

It turns out that the mutex isn't needed at all, not only
should the OPAL interface allow concurrent reads, the implementation
is certainly safe for that, and if any sensor we were reading
from somewhere isn't, doing the mutual exclusion in the kernel
is the wrong place to do it, OPAL should be doing it for the kernel.

So, remove the mutex.

Additionally, we shouldn't be printing out an error when we don't
get a token as the only way this should happen is if we've been
interrupted in down_interruptible() on the semaphore.

Cyril Bur 86cd6d9802 powerpc/opal: Rework the opal-async interface
Future work will add an opal_async_wait_response_interruptible()
which will call wait_event_interruptible(). This work requires extra
token state to be tracked as wait_event_interruptible() can return and
the caller could release the token before OPAL responds.

Currently token state is tracked with two bitfields which are 64 bits
big but may not need to be as OPAL informs Linux how many async tokens
there are. It also uses an array indexed by token to store response
messages for each token.

The bitfields make it difficult to add more state and also provide a
hard maximum as to how many tokens there can be - it is possible that
OPAL will inform Linux that there are more than 64 tokens.

Rather than add a bitfield to track the extra state, rework the
internals slightly.

Cyril Bur 59cf9a1cfc powerpc/opal: Make __opal_async_{get, release}_token() static
There are no callers of both __opal_async_get_token() and
__opal_async_release_token().

This patch also removes the possibility of "emergency through
synchronous call to __opal_async_get_token()" as such it makes more
sense to initialise opal_sync_sem for the maximum number of async
tokens.

William A. Kennington III 71e24d7731 powerpc/opal: Fix EBUSY bug in acquiring tokens
The current code checks the completion map to look for the first token
that is complete. In some cases, a completion can come in but the
token can still be on lease to the caller processing the completion.
If this completed but unreleased token is the first token found in the
bitmap by another tasks trying to acquire a token, then the
__test_and_set_bit call will fail since the token will still be on
lease. The acquisition will then fail with an EBUSY.

This patch reorganizes the acquisition code to look at the
opal_async_token_map for an unleased token. If the token has no lease
it must have no outstanding completions so we should never see an
EBUSY, unless we have leased out too many tokens. Since
opal_async_get_token_inrerruptible is protected by a semaphore, we
will practically never see EBUSY anymore.

Michael Ellerman 1fd6c02207 powerpc/mm: Add a CONFIG option to choose if radix is used by default
Currently if the hardware supports the radix MMU we will use
it, *unless* "disable_radix" is passed on the kernel command line.

However some users would like the reverse semantics. ie. The kernel
uses the hash MMU by default, unless radix is explicitly requested on
the command line.

So add a CONFIG option to choose whether we use radix by default or
not, and expand the disable_radix command line option to allow
"disable_radix=no" which *enables* radix.

Michael Ellerman 4e00374704 powerpc/64s: Replace CONFIG_PPC_STD_MMU_64 with CONFIG_PPC_BOOK3S_64
CONFIG_PPC_STD_MMU_64 indicates support for the "standard" powerpc MMU
on 64-bit CPUs. The "standard" MMU refers to the hash page table MMU
found in "server" processors, from IBM mainly.

Currently CONFIG_PPC_STD_MMU_64 is == CONFIG_PPC_BOOK3S_64. While it's
annoying to have two symbols that always have the same value, it's not
quite annoying enough to bother removing one.

However with the arrival of Power9, we now have the situation where
CONFIG_PPC_STD_MMU_64 is enabled, but the kernel is running using the
Radix MMU - *not* the "standard" MMU. So it is now actively confusing
to use it, because it implies that code is disabled or inactive when
the Radix MMU is in use, however that is not necessarily true.

So s/CONFIG_PPC_STD_MMU_64/CONFIG_PPC_BOOK3S_64/, and do some minor
formatting updates of some of the affected lines.

This will be a pain for backports, but c'est la vie.

Alexey Kardashevskiy d6f934fd48 powerpc/powernv: Reserve a hole which appears after enabling IOV
In order to make generic IOV code work, the physical function IOV BAR
should start from offset of the first VF. Since M64 segments share
PE number space across PHB, and some PEs may be in use at the time
when IOV is enabled, the existing code shifts the IOV BAR to the index
of the first PE/VF. This creates a hole in IOMEM space which can be
potentially taken by some other device.

This reserves a temporary hole on a parent and releases it when IOV is
disabled; the temporary resources are stored in pci_dn to avoid
kmalloc/free.

Tyrel Datwyler b8f89fea59 powerpc/pseries/vio: Dispose of virq mapping on vdevice unregister
When a vdevice is DLPAR removed from the system the vio subsystem
doesn't bother unmapping the virq from the irq_domain. As a result we
have a virq mapped to a hardware irq that is no longer valid for the
irq_domain. A side effect is that we are left with /proc/irq/<irq#>
affinity entries, and attempts to modify the smp_affinity of the irq
will fail.

In the following observed example the kernel log is spammed by
ics_rtas_set_affinity errors after the removal of a VSCSI adapter.
This is a result of irqbalance trying to adjust the affinity every 10
seconds.

Greg Kroah-Hartman b24413180f License cleanup: add SPDX GPL-2.0 license identifier to files with no license
Many source files in the tree are missing licensing information, which
makes it harder for compliance tools to determine the correct license.

By default all files without license information are under the default
license of the kernel, which is GPL version 2.

Update the files which contain no license information with the 'GPL-2.0'
SPDX license identifier.  The SPDX identifier is a legally binding
shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text.

This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and
Philippe Ombredanne.

How this work was done:

Patches were generated and checked against linux-4.14-rc6 for a subset of
the use cases:
 - file had no licensing information it it.
 - file was a */uapi/* one with no licensing information in it,
 - file was a */uapi/* one with existing licensing information,

Further patches will be generated in subsequent months to fix up cases
where non-standard license headers were used, and references to license
had to be inferred by heuristics based on keywords.

The analysis to determine which SPDX License Identifier to be applied to
a file was done in a spreadsheet of side by side results from of the
output of two independent scanners (ScanCode & Windriver) producing SPDX
tag:value files created by Philippe Ombredanne.  Philippe prepared the
base worksheet, and did an initial spot review of a few 1000 files.

The 4.13 kernel was the starting point of the analysis with 60,537 files
assessed.  Kate Stewart did a file by file comparison of the scanner
results in the spreadsheet to determine which SPDX license identifier(s)
to be applied to the file. She confirmed any determination that was not
immediately clear with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

Criteria used to select files for SPDX license identifier tagging was:
 - Files considered eligible had to be source code files.
 - Make and config files were included as candidates if they contained >5
   lines of source
 - File already had some variant of a license header in it (even if <5
   lines).

All documentation files were explicitly excluded.

The following heuristics were used to determine which SPDX license
identifiers to apply.

 - when both scanners couldn't find any license traces, file was
   considered to have no license information in it, and the top level
   COPYING file license applied.

   For non */uapi/* files that summary was:

   and that resulted in the third patch in this series.

 - when the two scanners agreed on the detected license(s), that became
   the concluded license(s).

 - when there was disagreement between the two scanners (one detected a
   license but the other didn't, or they both detected different
   licenses) a manual inspection of the file occurred.

 - In most cases a manual inspection of the information in the file
   resulted in a clear resolution of the license that should apply (and
   which scanner probably needed to revisit its heuristics).

 - When it was not immediately clear, the license identifier was
   confirmed with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

 - If there was any question as to the appropriate license identifier,
   the file was flagged for further research and to be revisited later
   in time.

In total, over 70 hours of logged manual review was done on the
spreadsheet to determine the SPDX license identifiers to apply to the
source files by Kate, Philippe, Thomas and, in some cases, confirmation
by lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

Kate also obtained a third independent scan of the 4.13 code base from
FOSSology, and compared selected files where the other two scanners
disagreed against that SPDX file, to see if there was new insights.  The
Windriver scanner is based on an older version of FOSSology in part, so
they are related.

Thomas did random spot checks in about 500 files from the spreadsheets
for the uapi headers and agreed with SPDX license identifier in the
files he inspected. For the non-uapi files Thomas did random spot checks
in about 15000 files.

In initial set of patches against 4.14-rc6, 3 files were found to have
copy/paste license identifier errors, and have been fixed to reflect the
correct identifier.

Additionally Philippe spent 10 hours this week doing a detailed manual
inspection and review of the 12,461 patched files from the initial patch
version early this week with:
 - a full scancode scan run, collecting the matched texts, detected
   license ids and scores
 - reviewing anything where there was a license detected (about 500+
   files) to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct
 - reviewing anything where there was no detection but the patch license
   was not GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note to ensure that the applied
   SPDX license was correct

This produced a worksheet with 20 files needing minor correction.  This
worksheet was then exported into 3 different .csv files for the
different types of files to be modified.

These .csv files were then reviewed by Greg.  Thomas wrote a script to
parse the csv files and add the proper SPDX tag to the file, in the
format that the file expected.  This script was further refined by Greg
based on the output to detect more types of files automatically and to
distinguish between header and source .c files (which need different
comment types.)  Finally Greg ran the script using the .csv files to
generate the patches.

Mark Rutland 6aa7de0591 locking/atomics: COCCINELLE/treewide: Convert trivial ACCESS_ONCE() patterns to READ_ONCE()/WRITE_ONCE()
Please do not apply this to mainline directly, instead please re-run the
coccinelle script shown below and apply its output.

For several reasons, it is desirable to use {READ,WRITE}_ONCE() in
preference to ACCESS_ONCE(), and new code is expected to use one of the
former. So far, there's been no reason to change most existing uses of
ACCESS_ONCE(), as these aren't harmful, and changing them results in
churn.

However, for some features, the read/write distinction is critical to
correct operation. To distinguish these cases, separate read/write
accessors must be used. This patch migrates (most) remaining
ACCESS_ONCE() instances to {READ,WRITE}_ONCE(), using the following
coccinelle script:

Michael Ellerman 54820530c5 powerpc/powernv: Enable TM without suspend if possible
Some Power9 revisions can run in a mode where TM operates without
suspended state. If we find ourself on a CPU that might be in this
mode, we query OPAL to check, and if so we reenable TM in CPU
features, and enable a new user feature to signal to userspace that we
are in this mode.

We do not enable the "normal" user feature, PPC_FEATURE2_HTM, but we
do enable PPC_FEATURE2_HTM_NOSC because that indicates to userspace
that the kernel will abort transactions on syscall entry, which is
true regardless of the suspend mode.

powerpc/hotplug: On Power systems with shared configurations of CPUs
and memory, there are some issues with the association of additional
CPUs and memory to nodes when hot-adding resources.  During hotplug
CPU operations, this patch resets the timer on topology update work
function to a small value to better ensure that the CPU topology is
detected and configured sooner.

Michael Ellerman c6baa077b7 powerpc/powernv: Make opal_event_shutdown() callable from IRQ context
In opal_event_shutdown() we free all the IRQs hanging off the
opal_event_irqchip. However it's not safe to do so if we're called
from IRQ context, because free_irq() wants to synchronise versus IRQ

We can avoid that by using disable_irq_nosync() rather than
free_irq(). Although it doesn't fully free the IRQ, it should be
sufficient when we're shutting down, particularly in an emergency.

Add an in_interrupt() check and use free_irq() when we're shutting
down normally. It's probably OK to use disable_irq_nosync() in that
case too, but for now it's safer to leave that behaviour as-is.

Anton Blanchard 53ecde0b91 powerpc/powernv: Increase memory block size to 1GB on radix
Memory hot unplug on PowerNV radix hosts is broken. Our memory block
size is 256MB but since we map the linear region with very large
pages, each pte we tear down maps 1GB.

A hot unplug of one 256MB memory block results in 768MB of memory
getting unintentionally unmapped. At this point we are likely to oops.

Fix this by increasing our memory block size to 1GB on PowerNV radix
hosts.

Michael Neuling 5080332c2c powerpc/64s: Add workaround for P9 vector CI load issue
POWER9 DD2.1 and earlier has an issue where some cache inhibited
vector load will return bad data. The workaround is two part, one
firmware/microcode part triggers HMI interrupts when hitting such
loads, the other part is this patch which then emulates the
instructions in Linux.

The affected instructions are limited to lxvd2x, lxvw4x, lxvb16x and
lxvh8x.

When an instruction triggers the HMI, all threads in the core will be
sent to the HMI handler, not just the one running the vector load.

In general, these spurious HMIs are detected by the emulation code and
we just return back to the running process. Unfortunately, if a
spurious interrupt occurs on a vector load that's to normal memory we
have no way to detect that it's spurious (unless we walk the page
tables, which is very expensive). In this case we emulate the load but
we need do so using a vector load itself to ensure 128bit atomicity is
preserved.

Some additional debugfs emulated instruction counters are added also.

Benjamin Herrenschmidt b9fde58db7 powerpc/powernv: Rework EEH initialization on powernv
Remove the post_init callback which is only used
by powernv, we can just call it explicitly from
the powernv code.

This partially kills the ability to "disable" eeh at
runtime via debugfs as this was calling that same
callback again, but this is both unused and broken
in several ways. If we want to revive it, we need
to create a dedicated enable/disable callback on the
backend that does the right thing.

Let the bulk of eeh initialize normally at
core_initcall() like it does on pseries by removing
the hack in eeh_init() that delays it.

Instead we make sure our eeh->probe cleanly bails
out of the PEs haven't been created yet and we force
a re-probe where we used to call eeh_init() again.

Commit 215ee763f8 ("powerpc: pseries: remove dlpar_attach_node
dependency on full path") reworked dlpar_attach_node() to no longer
look up the parent node "/cpus", but instead to have the parent node
passed by the caller in the function parameter list.

As a result dlpar_attach_node() is no longer responsible for freeing
the reference to the parent node. However, commit 215ee763f8 failed

take into account that the reference to the parent in the caller

Gautham R. Shenoy 5d298baa41 powerpc/powernv: Clear LPCR[PECE1] via stop-api only for deep state offline
Commit 24be85a23d ("powerpc/powernv: Clear PECE1 in LPCR via
stop-api only on Hotplug") clears the PECE1 bit of the LPCR via
stop-api during CPU-Hotplug to prevent wakeup due to a decrementer on
an offlined CPU which is in a deep stop state.

In the case where the stop-api support is found to be lacking, the
commit 785a12afdb ("powerpc/powernv/idle: Disable LOSE_FULL_CONTEXT
states when stop-api fails") disables deep states that lose hypervisor
context. Thus in this case, the offlined CPU will be put to some
shallow idle state.

However, we currently unconditionally clear the PECE1 in LPCR via
stop-api during CPU-Hotplug even when deep states are disabled due to
stop-api failure.

Fix this by clearing PECE1 of LPCR via stop-api during CPU-Hotplug
*only* when the offlined CPU will be put to a deep state that loses
hypervisor context.

Michal Hocko 0ee931c4e3 mm: treewide: remove GFP_TEMPORARY allocation flag
GFP_TEMPORARY was introduced by commit e12ba74d8f ("Group short-lived
and reclaimable kernel allocations") along with __GFP_RECLAIMABLE.  It's
primary motivation was to allow users to tell that an allocation is
short lived and so the allocator can try to place such allocations close
together and prevent long term fragmentation.  As much as this sounds
like a reasonable semantic it becomes much less clear when to use the
highlevel GFP_TEMPORARY allocation flag.  How long is temporary? Can the
context holding that memory sleep? Can it take locks? It seems there is
no good answer for those questions.

The current implementation of GFP_TEMPORARY is basically GFP_KERNEL |
__GFP_RECLAIMABLE which in itself is tricky because basically none of
the existing caller provide a way to reclaim the allocated memory.  So
this is rather misleading and hard to evaluate for any benefits.

I have checked some random users and none of them has added the flag
with a specific justification.  I suspect most of them just copied from
other existing users and others just thought it might be a good idea to
use without any measuring.  This suggests that GFP_TEMPORARY just
motivates for cargo cult usage without any reasoning.

I believe that our gfp flags are quite complex already and especially
those with highlevel semantic should be clearly defined to prevent from
confusion and abuse.  Therefore I propose dropping GFP_TEMPORARY and
replace all existing users to simply use GFP_KERNEL.  Please note that
SLAB users with shrinkers will still get __GFP_RECLAIMABLE heuristic and
so they will be placed properly for memory fragmentation prevention.

I can see reasons we might want some gfp flag to reflect shorterm
allocations but I propose starting from a clear semantic definition and
only then add users with proper justification.

This was been brought up before LSF this year by Matthew [1] and it
turned out that GFP_TEMPORARY really doesn't have a clear semantic.  It
seems to be a heuristic without any measured advantage for most (if not
all) its current users.  The follow up discussion has revealed that
opinions on what might be temporary allocation differ a lot between
developers.  So rather than trying to tweak existing users into a
semantic which they haven't expected I propose to simply remove the flag
and start from scratch if we really need a semantic for short term
allocations.

Cédric Le Goater eac1e731b5 powerpc/xive: guest exploitation of the XIVE interrupt controller
This is the framework for using XIVE in a PowerVM guest. The support
is very similar to the native one in a much simpler form.

Each source is associated with an Event State Buffer (ESB). This is a
two bit state machine which is used to trigger events. The bits are
named "P" (pending) and "Q" (queued) and can be controlled by MMIO.
The Guest OS registers event (or notifications) queues on which the HW
will post event data for a target to notify.

Instead of OPAL calls, a set of Hypervisors call are used to configure
the interrupt sources and the event/notification queues of the guest:

 - H_INT_GET_SOURCE_INFO

   used to obtain the address of the MMIO page of the Event State
   Buffer (PQ bits) entry associated with the source.

 - H_INT_SET_SOURCE_CONFIG

   assigns a source to a "target".

 - H_INT_GET_SOURCE_CONFIG

   determines to which "target" and "priority" is assigned to a source

 - H_INT_GET_QUEUE_INFO

   returns the address of the notification management page associated
   with the specified "target" and "priority".

 - H_INT_SET_QUEUE_CONFIG

   sets or resets the event queue for a given "target" and "priority".
   It is also used to set the notification config associated with the
   queue, only unconditional notification for the moment.  Reset is
   performed with a queue size of 0 and queueing is disabled in that
   case.

 - H_INT_GET_QUEUE_CONFIG

   returns the queue settings for a given "target" and "priority".

 - H_INT_RESET

   resets all of the partition's interrupt exploitation structures to
   their initial state, losing all configuration set via the hcalls
   H_INT_SET_SOURCE_CONFIG and H_INT_SET_QUEUE_CONFIG.

 - H_INT_SYNC

   issue a synchronisation on a source to make sure sure all
   notifications have reached their queue.

As for XICS, the XIVE interface for the guest is described in the
device tree under the "interrupt-controller" node. A couple of new
properties are specific to XIVE :

 - "reg"

   contains the base address and size of the thread interrupt
   managnement areas (TIMA), also called rings, for the User level and
   for the Guest OS level. Only the Guest OS level is taken into
   account today.

 - "ibm,xive-eq-sizes"

   the size of the event queues. One cell per size supported, contains
   log2 of size, in ascending order.

 - "ibm,xive-lisn-ranges"

   the interrupt numbers ranges assigned to the guest. These are
   allocated using a simple bitmap.

and also :

 - "/ibm,plat-res-int-priorities"

   contains a list of priorities that the hypervisor has reserved for
   its own use.

Tested with a QEMU XIVE model for pseries and with the Power hypervisor.

Alexey Kardashevskiy f1e08232ed powerpc/pci: Remove OF node back pointer from pci_dn
The check_req() helper uses pci_get_pdn() to get an OF node pointer.
pci_get_pdn() returns a pci_dn pointer which either:
1) from the OF node returned by pci_device_to_OF_node();
2) from the parent child_list where entries don't have OF node pointers.
Since check_req() does not care about 2), it can call
pci_device_to_OF_node() directly, hence the change.

The find_pe_dn() helper uses embedded pci_dn to get an OF node which is
also stored in edev->pdev so let's take a shortcut and call
pci_device_to_OF_node() directly.

With these 2 changes, we can finally get rid of the OF node back pointer.

and the very same address is also stored in the pci_dn struct which

Since config_addr is made from device's bus:dev.fn, there is no point
in keeping it in the debugfs either so remove that too.

There are quite a few machine check exceptions that can be caused by
kernel bugs. To make debugging easier, use the kernel crash path in
cases of synchronous machine checks that occur in kernel mode, if that
would not result in the machine going straight to panic or crash dump.

There is a downside here that die()ing the process in kernel mode can
still leave the system unstable. panic_on_oops will always force the
system to fail-stop, so systems where that behaviour is important will
still do the right thing.

As a test, when triggering an i-side 0111b error (ifetch from foreign

Nicholas Piggin b746e3e01e powerpc/powernv: Flush console before platform error reboot
Unrecovered MCE and HMI errors are sent through a special restart OPAL
call to log the platform error. The downside is that they don't go
through normal Linux crash paths, so they don't give much information
to the Linux console.

Change this by providing a special crash function which does some of
the console flushing from the panic() path before calling firmware to
reboot.

The downside of this is a little more code to execute before reaching
the firmware reboot. However in practice, it's critical to get the
Linux console messages output in order to debug a problem. So this is
a desirable tradeoff.

Note on the implementation: It is difficult to plumb a custom reboot
handler into the panic path, because panic does a little bit too much
work. For example, it will try to delay with the timebase, but that
may be corrupted in some cases resulting in a hang without reaching
the platform reboot. Another problem is that panic can invoke the
crash dump code which is not what we want in the case of a hardware
platform error. Long-term the best solution will be to rework the
panic path so it can be suitable for this kind of panic, but for now
we just duplicate a bit of the code.

Nicholas Piggin bded070643 powerpc/pseries/le: Work around a firmware quirk
Some PowerVM firmware when delivering a system reset interrupt to a
little endian OS will mess up SRR registers. They are byteswapped, and
SRR1 is incorrect. An example from a crash:

  MSR: 1000000200000080

It's possible to detect this pattern in SRR1 (that would never happen
in normal operation), and at least fix the NIP. After this patch, the
same interrupt reports NIP properly:

Nicholas Piggin a3b2cb30f2 powerpc: Do not call ppc_md.panic in fadump panic notifier
If fadump is not registered, and no other crash or debug handlers are
registered, the powerpc panic handler stops the guest before the
generic panic code can push out debug information to the console.

Currently, system reset injection causes the guest to silently stop.

Stop calling ppc_md.panic in the panic notifier. crash_fadump already
does rtas_os_term() to terminate the guest if fadump is registered.

Remove ppc_md.panic. Move fadump panic notifier into fadump code.

When building a random powerpc kernel I hit this build error:

             ^

This happens because when CONFIG_NUMA=n cpumask_of_node() returns a
const pointer.

This patch simply adds const to l_cpumask to fix this issue.

Rashmica Gupta 9d5171a8f2 powerpc/powernv: Enable removal of memory for in memory tracing
The hardware trace macro feature requires access to a chunk of real
memory. This patch provides a debugfs interface to do this. By
writing an integer containing the size of memory to be unplugged into
/sys/kernel/debug/powerpc/memtrace/enable, the code will attempt to
remove that much memory from the end of each NUMA node.

This patch also adds additional debugsfs files for each node that
allows the tracer to interact with the removed memory, as well as
a trace file that allows userspace to read the generated trace.

Note that this patch does not invoke the hardware trace macro, it
only allows memory to be removed during runtime for the trace macro
to utilise.

Michael Ellerman bcf21e3a97 powerpc/vio: Use device_type to detect family
Currently in the vio.c code we use a comparision against the parent
device node's full path to decide if the device is a PFO or VIO family
device.

Both the ibm,platform-facilities and vdevice nodes are defined by PAPR,
and must have a matching device_type. So instead of using the path we
can instead compare the device_type.

I've checked Qemu and kvmtool both do this correctly, and all the
PowerVM systems I have access to do also. So it seems to be safe.

This removes the dependency on full_name, which is being removed
upstream.

by itself.

We have several 44x machine check handlers defined in traps.c. It would
be preferable if they were split out with the platforms that use them.
Do that.

In the process, drop get_mc_reason() and instead just open code the
lookup of reason from regs->dsisr. This avoids a pointless layer of
abstraction.

We know to use regs->dsisr because 44x enables BOOKE which enables
PPC_ADV_DEBUG_REGS, and FSL_BOOKE is not enabled on 44x builds.

Nathan Fontenot 1a367063ca powerpc/pseries: Check memory device state before onlining/offlining
When DLPAR adding or removing memory we need to check the device
offline status before trying to online/offline the memory. This is
needed because calls to device_online() and device_offline() will
return non-zero for memory that is already online and offline
respectively.

This update resolves two scenarios. First, for a kernel built with
auto-online memory enabled (CONFIG_MEMORY_HOTPLUG_DEFAULT_ONLINE=y),
memory will be onlined as part of calls to add_memory(). After adding
the memory the pseries DLPAR code tries to online it and fails since
the memory is already online. The DLPAR code then tries to remove the
memory which produces the oops message below because the memory is not
offline.

The second scenario occurs when removing memory that is already
offline, i.e. marking memory offline (via sysfs) and then trying to
remove that memory. This doesn't work because offlining the already
offline memory does not succeed and the DLPAR code then fails the
DLPAR remove operation.

The fix for both scenarios is to check the device.offline status
before making the calls to device_online() or device_offline().

Gautham R. Shenoy 785a12afdb powerpc/powernv/idle: Disable LOSE_FULL_CONTEXT states when stop-api fails
Currently, we use the opal call opal_slw_set_reg() to inform the
Sleep-Winkle Engine (SLW) to restore the contents of some of the
Hypervisor state on wakeup from deep idle states that lose full
hypervisor context (characterized by the flag
OPAL_PM_LOSE_FULL_CONTEXT).

However, the current code has a bug in that if opal_slw_set_reg()
fails, we don't disable the use of these deep states (winkle on
POWER8, stop4 onwards on POWER9).

This patch fixes this bug by ensuring that if programing the
sleep-winkle engine to restore the hypervisor states in
pnv_save_sprs_for_deep_states() fails, then we exclude such states by
clearing the OPAL_PM_LOSE_FULL_CONTEXT flag from
supported_cpuidle_states. As a result POWER8 will be prevented from
using winkle for CPU-Hotplug, and POWER9 will put the offlined CPUs to
the default stop state when available.

Further, we ensure in the initialization of the cpuidle-powernv driver
to only include those states whose flags are present in
supported_cpuidle_states, thereby skipping OPAL_PM_LOSE_FULL_CONTEXT
states when they have been disabled due to stop-api failure.

Matt Brown e66ca3db59 powerpc/powernv: Use darn instruction for get_random_seed() on Power9
This adds powernv_get_random_darn() which utilises the darn instruction,
introduced in ISA v3.0/POWER9.

The darn instruction can potentially return an error, which is supported
by the get_random_seed() API, in normal usage if we see an error we just
return that to the caller.

However when detecting whether darn is functional at boot we try up to
10 times, before deciding that darn doesn't work and failing the
registration of get_random_seed(). That way an intermittent failure
at boot doesn't deprive the system of randomness until the next reboot.

Frederic Barrat 2552910084 powerpc/powernv: Enable PCI peer-to-peer
P9 has support for PCI peer-to-peer, enabling a device to write in the
MMIO space of another device directly, without interrupting the CPU.

This patch adds support for it on powernv, by adding a new API to be
called by drivers. The pnv_pci_set_p2p(...) call configures an
'initiator', i.e the device which will issue the MMIO operation, and a
'target', i.e. the device on the receiving side.

P9 really only supports MMIO stores for the time being but that's
expected to change in the future, so the API allows to define both
load and store operations.

Benjamin Herrenschmidt 6ff4d3e966 powerpc: Remove old unused icswx based coprocessor support
We have a whole pile of unused code to maintain the ACOP register,
allocate coprocessor PIDs and handle ACOP faults. This mechanism
was used for the HFI adapter on POWER7 which is dead and gone and
whose driver never went upstream. It was used on some A2 core based
stuff that also never saw the light of day.

Take out all that code.

There is still some POWER8 coprocessor code that uses icswx but it's
kernel only and thus doesn't use any of that infrastructure.

Jeff Layton 3b49c9a1e9 fs: convert a pile of fsync routines to errseq_t based reporting
This patch converts most of the in-kernel filesystems that do writeback
out of the pagecache to report errors using the errseq_t-based
infrastructure that was recently added. This allows them to report
errors once for each open file description.

Most filesystems have a fairly straightforward fsync operation. They
call filemap_write_and_wait_range to write back all of the data and
wait on it, and then (sometimes) sync out the metadata.

For those filesystems this is a straightforward conversion from calling
filemap_write_and_wait_range in their fsync operation to calling
file_write_and_wait_range.

Gautham R. Shenoy 24be85a23d powerpc/powernv: Clear PECE1 in LPCR via stop-api only on Hotplug
Currently we use the stop-api provided by the firmware to program the
SLW engine to restore the values of hypervisor resources that get lost
on deeper idle states (such as winkle). Since the deep states were
only used for CPU-Hotplug on POWER8 systems, we would program the LPCR
to have the PECE1 bit since Hotplugged CPUs shouldn't be spuriously
woken up by decrementer.

On POWER9, some of the deep platform idle states such as stop4 can be
used in cpuidle as well. In this case, we want the CPU in stop4 to be
woken up by the decrementer when some timer on the CPU expires.

In this patch, we program the stop-api for LPCR with PECE1
bit cleared only when we are offlining the CPU and set it
back once the CPU is online.

Alistair Popple 253fd51e2f powerpc/powernv/pci: Return failure for some uses of dma_set_mask()
Commit 8e3f1b1d82 ("powerpc/powernv/pci: Enable 64-bit devices to access
>4GB DMA space") introduced the ability for PCI device drivers to request a
DMA mask between 64 and 32 bits and actually get a mask greater than
32-bits. However currently if certain machine configuration dependent
conditions are not meet the code silently falls back to a 32-bit mask.

This makes it hard for device drivers to detect which mask they actually
got. Instead we should return an error when the request could not be
fulfilled which allows drivers to either fallback or implement other
workarounds as documented in DMA-API-HOWTO.txt.

underflow during DLPAR remove"), the call to of_node_put() must be
removed from pSeries_reconfig_remove_node().

dlpar_detach_node() and pSeries_reconfig_remove_node() both call
of_detach_node(), and thus the node should not be released in both

Add support to register Nest In-Memory Collection PMU counters.
Patch adds a new device file called "imc-pmu.c" under powerpc/perf
folder to contain all the device PMU functions.

Device tree parser code added to parse the PMU events information
and create sysfs event attributes for the PMU.

Cpumask attribute added along with Cpu hotplug online/offline functions
specific for nest PMU. A new state "CPUHP_AP_PERF_POWERPC_NEST_IMC_ONLINE"
added for the cpu hotplug callbacks. Error handle path frees the memory
and unregisters the CPU hotplug callbacks.

Madhavan Srinivasan 8f95faaac5 powerpc/powernv: Detect and create IMC device
Code to create platform device for the In-Memory Collection (IMC)
counters. Platform devices are created based on the IMC compatibility.
New header file created to contain the data structures and macros
needed for In-Memory Collection (IMC) counter pmu devices.

The device tree for IMC counters starts at the node "imc-counters".
This node contains all the IMC PMU nodes and event nodes for these IMC
PMUs. Device probe() parses the device to locate three possible IMC
device types (Nest/Core/Thread). Function then branch to parse each
unit nodes to populate vital information such as device memory sizes,
event nodes information, base address for reserve memory access (if
any) and so on. Simple bare-minimum shutdown function added which only
"stops" the engines.

In-Memory Collection (IMC) counters are performance monitoring
infrastructure. These counters need special sequence of SCOMs to
init/start/stop which is handled by OPAL. And OPAL provides three APIs
to init and control these IMC engines.

In commit 1c0eaf0f56 ("powerpc/powernv: Tell OPAL about our MMU mode
on POWER9"), we added additional flags to the OPAL call to configure
CPUs at boot.

These flags only work on Power9 firmwares, and worse can cause boot
failures on Power8 machines, so we check for CPU_FTR_ARCH_300 (aka POWER9)
before adding the extra flags.

Unfortunately we forgot that opal_configure_cores() is called before
the CPU feature checks are dynamically patched, meaning the check
always returns true.

We definitely need to do something to make the CPU feature checks less
prone to bugs like this, but for now the minimal fix is to use
early_cpu_has_feature().

Aneesh Kumar K.V 40692eb5ee powerpc/mm/hugetlb: add support for 1G huge pages
POWER9 supports hugepages of size 2M and 1G in radix MMU mode.  This
patch enables the usage of 1G page size for hugetlbfs.  This also update
the helper such we can do 1G page allocation at runtime.

We still don't enable 1G page size on DD1 version.  This is to avoid
doing workaround mentioned in commit 6d3a0379eb ("powerpc/mm: Add
radix__tlb_flush_pte_p9_dd1()").

Balbir Singh e71ff982ae powerpc/pseries: Fix passing of pp0 in updatepp() and updateboltedpp()
Once upon a time there were only two PP (page protection) bits. In ISA
2.03 an additional PP bit was added, but because of the layout of the
HPTE it could not be made contiguous with the existing PP bits.

The result is that we now have three PP bits, named pp0, pp1, pp2,
where pp0 occupies bit 63 of dword 1 of the HPTE and pp1 and pp2
occupy bits 1 and 0 respectively. Until recently Linux hasn't used
pp0, however with the addition of _PAGE_KERNEL_RO we started using it.

The problem arises in the LPAR code, where we need to translate the PP
bits into the argument for the H_PROTECT hypercall. Currently the code
only passes bits 0-2 of newpp, which covers pp1, pp2 and N (no
execute), meaning pp0 is not passed to the hypervisor at all.

We can't simply pass it through in bit 63, as that would collide with a
different field in the flags argument, as defined in PAPR. Instead we
have to shift it down to bit 8 (IBM bit 55).

Hari Bathini eae0dfcc44 powerpc/fadump: avoid holes in boot memory area when fadump is registered
To register fadump, boot memory area - the size of low memory chunk that
is required for a kernel to boot successfully when booted with restricted
memory, is assumed to have no holes. But this memory area is currently
not protected from hot-remove operations. So, fadump could fail to
re-register after a memory hot-remove operation, if memory is removed
from boot memory area. To avoid this, ensure that memory from boot
memory area is not hot-removed when fadump is registered.

Russell Currey 8e3f1b1d82 powerpc/powernv/pci: Enable 64-bit devices to access >4GB DMA space
On PHB3/POWER8 systems, devices can select between two different sections
of address space, TVE#0 and TVE#1.  TVE#0 is intended for 32bit devices
that aren't capable of addressing more than 4GB.  Selecting TVE#1 instead,
with the capability of addressing over 4GB, is performed by setting bit 59
of a PCI address.

However, some devices aren't capable of addressing at least 59 bits, but
still want more than 4GB of DMA space.  In order to enable this, reconfigure
TVE#0 to be suitable for 64-bit devices by allocating memory past the
initial 4GB that is inaccessible by 64-bit DMAs.

This bypass mode is only enabled if a device requests 4GB or more of DMA
address space, if the system has PHB3 (POWER8 systems), and if the device
does not share a PE with any devices from different vendors.

Diagnostic data for PHBs currently works by allocated a fixed-sized buffer.
This is simple, but either wastes memory (though only a few kilobytes) or
in the case of PHB4 isn't enough to fit the whole data blob.

For machines that don't describe the diagnostic data size in the device
tree, use the hardcoded buffer size as before.  For those that do, only
allocate exactly what's needed.

In the special case of P7IOC (which has two types of diag data), the larger
should be specified in the device tree.

Alistair Popple bbd5ff50af powerpc/powernv/npu-dma: Add explicit flush when sending an ATSD
NPU2 requires an extra explicit flush to an active GPU PID when
sending address translation shoot downs (ATSDs) to reliably flush the
GPU TLB. This patch adds just such a flush at the end of each sequence
of ATSDs.

We can safely use PID 0 which is always reserved and active on the
GPU. PID 0 is only used for init_mm which will never be a user mm on
the GPU. To enforce this we add a check in pnv_npu2_init_context()
just in case someone tries to use PID 0 on the GPU.

Nicholas Piggin 771d4304d0 powerpc/64s/idle: Process interrupts from system reset wakeup
When the CPU wakes from low power state, it begins at the system reset
interrupt with the exception that caused the wakeup encoded in SRR1.

Today, powernv idle wakeup ignores the wakeup reason (except a special
case for HMI), and the regular interrupt corresponding to the
exception will fire after the idle wakeup exits.

Change this to replay the interrupt from the idle wakeup before
interrupts are hard-enabled.

Test on POWER8 of context_switch selftests benchmark with polling idle
disabled (e.g., always nap, giving cross-CPU IPIs) gives the following
results:

Different threads, same core:   315k/s           264k/s
Different cores:                235k/s           242k/s

There is a slowdown for doorbell IPI (same core) case because system
reset wakeup does not clear the message and the doorbell interrupt
fires again needlessly.

Commit 4c3b89effc ("powerpc/powernv: Add sanity checks to
pnv_pci_get_{gpu|npu}_dev") introduced explicit warnings in
pnv_pci_get_npu_dev() when a PCIe device has no associated device-tree
node. However not all PCIe devices have an of_node and
pnv_pci_get_npu_dev() gets indirectly called at least once for every
PCIe device in the system. This results in spurious WARN_ON()'s so
remove it.

The same situation should not exist for pnv_pci_get_gpu_dev() as any
NPU based PCIe device requires a device-tree node.

Michael Ellerman c6ee9619e2 powerpc/book3s64: Move PPC_DT_CPU_FTRs and enable it by default
The PPC_DT_CPU_FTRs is a bit misplaced in menuconfig, it shows up with
other general kernel options. It's really more at home in the "Platform
Support" section, so move it there.

Also enable it by default, for Book3s 64. It does mostly nothing unless
the device tree properties are found, and we will want it enabled
eventually in distro kernels, so turn it on to start getting more
testing.

Michael Ellerman 0e5e7f5e97 powerpc/64: Reclaim CPU_FTR_SUBCORE
We are running low on CPU feature bits, so we only want to use them when
it's really necessary.

CPU_FTR_SUBCORE is only used in one place, and only in C, so we don't
need it in order to make asm patching work. It can only be set on
"Power8" CPUs, which in practice means POWER8, POWER8E and POWER8NVL.
There are no plans to implement it on future CPUs, but if there ever
were we could retrofit it then.

Although KVM uses subcores, it never looks at the CPU feature, it either
looks at the ISA level or the threads_per_subcore value.

So drop the CPU feature and do a PVR check instead. Drop the device tree
"subcore" feature as we no longer support doing anything with it, and we
will drop it from skiboot too.

Michael Bringmann dc421b200f powerpc/hotplug-mem: Fix missing endian conversion of aa_index
When adding or removing memory, the aa_index (affinity value) for the
memblock must also be converted to match the endianness of the rest
of the 'ibm,dynamic-memory' property.  Otherwise, subsequent retrieval
of the attribute will likely lead to non-existent nodes, followed by
using the default node in the code inappropriately.

Michael Ellerman 99acc9bede powerpc/spufs: Fix coredump of SPU contexts
If a process dumps core while it has SPU contexts active then we have
code to also dump information about the SPU contexts.

Unfortunately it's been broken for 3 1/2 years, and we didn't notice. In
commit 7b1f4020d0 ("spufs: get rid of dump_emit() wrappers") the nread
variable was removed and rc used instead. That means when the loop exits
successfully, rc has the number of bytes read, but it's then used as the
return value for the function, which should return 0 on success.

So fix it by setting rc = 0 before returning in the success case.

Akshay Adiga 1e1601b38e powerpc/powernv/idle: Restore SPRs for deep idle states via stop API.
Some of the SPR values (HID0, MSR, SPRG0) don't change during the run
time of a booted kernel, once they have been initialized.

The contents of these SPRs are lost when the CPUs enter deep stop
states. So instead saving and restoring SPRs from the kernel, use the
stop-api provided by the firmware by which the firmware can restore
the contents of these SPRs to their initialized values after wakeup
from a deep stop state.

Apart from these, program the PSSCR value to that of the deepest stop
state via the stop-api. This will be used to indicate to the
underlying firmware as to what stop state to put the threads that have
been woken up by a special-wakeup.

And while we are at programming SPRs via stop-api, ensure that HID1,
HID4 and HID5 registers which are only available on POWER8 are not
requested to be restored by the firware on POWER9.

Gautham R. Shenoy 5f221c3ca1 powerpc/powernv/idle: Correctly initialize core_idle_state_ptr
The lower 8 bits of core_idle_state_ptr tracks the number of non-idle
threads in the core. This is supposed to be initialized to bit-map
corresponding to the threads_per_core. However, currently it is
initialized to PNV_CORE_IDLE_THREAD_BITS (0xFF). This is correct for
POWER8 which has 8 threads per core, but not for POWER9 which has 4
threads per core.

As a result, on POWER9, core_idle_state_ptr gets initialized to
0xFF. In case when all the threads of the core are idle, the bits
corresponding tracking the idle-threads are non-zero. As a result, the
idle entry/exit code fails to save/restore per-core hypervisor state
since it assumes that there are threads in the cores which are still
active.

Fix this by correctly initializing the lower bits of the
core_idle_state_ptr on the basis of threads_per_core.

set_subcores_per_core() holds get_online_cpus() while invoking stop_machine().

stop_machine() invokes get_online_cpus() as well. This is correct, but
prevents the conversion of the hotplug locking to a percpu rwsem.

Use stop_machine_cpuslocked() to avoid the nested call. Convert
*_online_cpus() to the new interfaces while at it.

Jeremy Kerr d75e4919cc powerpc/spufs: Fix hash faults for kernel regions
Commit ac29c64089 ("powerpc/mm: Replace _PAGE_USER with
_PAGE_PRIVILEGED") swapped _PAGE_USER for _PAGE_PRIVILEGED, and
introduced check_pte_access() which denied kernel access to
non-_PAGE_PRIVILEGED pages.

However, it didn't add _PAGE_PRIVILEGED to the hash fault handler
for spufs' kernel accesses, so the DMAs required to establish SPE
memory no longer work.

This change adds _PAGE_PRIVILEGED to the hash fault handler for
kernel accesses.

XICS interrupt controller emulation for POWER9 machines, from Ben

POWER9 has a new interrupt controller called XIVE (eXternal Interrupt
Virtualization Engine) which is able to deliver interrupts directly
to guest virtual CPUs in hardware without hypervisor intervention.
With this new code, the guest still sees the old XICS interface but
performance is better because the XICS emulation in the host uses the
XIVE directly rather than going through a XICS emulation in firmware.

Alistair Popple 6b3d12a948 powerpc/powernv: Fix TCE kill on NVLink2
Commit 616badd2fb ("powerpc/powernv: Use OPAL call for TCE kill on
NVLink2") forced all TCE kills to go via the OPAL call for
NVLink2. However the PHB3 implementation of TCE kill was still being
called directly from some functions which in some circumstances caused
a machine check.

This patch adds an equivalent IODA2 version of the function which uses
the correct invalidation method depending on PHB model and changes all
external callers to use it instead.

Andrew Donnellan b7da123053 powerpc/powernv: Document cxl dependency on special case in pnv_eeh_reset()
pnv_eeh_reset() has special handling for PEs whose primary bus is the
root bus or the bus immediately underneath the root port.

The cxl bi-modal card support added in b0b5e5918a ("cxl: Add
cxl_check_and_switch_mode() API to switch bi-modal cards") relies on
this behaviour when hot-resetting the CAPI adapter following a mode
switch.  Document this in pnv_eeh_reset() so we don't accidentally break
it.

Alexey Kardashevskiy b6e1f6adce powerpc/pseries: Enable VFIO
This enables VFIO on pseries host in order to allow VFIO in nested guest under
PR KVM or DPDK in a HV guest. This adds support of the VFIO_SPAPR_TCE_IOMMU
type.

This adds exchange() callback to allow TCE updates by the SPAPR TCE IOMMU
driver in VFIO.

This initializes DMA32 window parameters in iommu_table_group as as this does
not implement VFIO_SPAPR_TCE_v2_IOMMU and VFIO_SPAPR_TCE_IOMMU just reuses the
existing DMA32 window.

Alexey Kardashevskiy e49a6a2173 powerpc/powernv: Fix iommu table size calculation hook for small tables
When the userspace requests a small TCE table (which takes less than
the system page size) and more than 1 TCE level, the existing code
returns a single page size which is a bug as each additional TCE level
requires at least one page and this is what
pnv_pci_ioda2_table_alloc_pages() does. And we end up seeing
WARN_ON(!ret && ((*ptbl)->it_allocated_size != table_size))
in drivers/vfio/vfio_iommu_spapr_tce.c.

This replaces incorrect _ALIGN_UP() (which aligns zero up to zero) with
max_t() to fix the bug.

Besides removing WARN_ON(), there should be no other changes in
behaviour.

- The decrementer is set to 1 so it will be raised again and fire when
  the system reset returns.

It is possible to branch to an idle handler from the system reset
interrupt (like POWER does), then restore a normal stack and restore
this optimisation. But simplicity wins for now.

Michael Ellerman 45b21cfeb2 powerpc/powernv: Fix oops on P9 DD1 in cause_ipi()
Recently we merged the native xive support for Power9, and then separately some
reworks for doorbell IPI support. In isolation both series were OK, but the
merged result had a bug in one case.

On P9 DD1 we use pnv_p9_dd1_cause_ipi() which tries to use doorbells, and then
falls back to the interrupt controller. However the fallback is implemented by
calling icp_ops->cause_ipi. But now that xive support is merged we might be
using xive, in which case icp_ops is not initialised, it's a xics specific
structure. This leads to an oops such as:

Tyrel Datwyler 68baf692c4 powerpc/pseries: Fix of_node_put() underflow during DLPAR remove
Historically struct device_node references were tracked using a kref embedded as
a struct field. Commit 75b57ecf9d ("of: Make device nodes kobjects so they
show up in sysfs") (Mar 2014) refactored device_nodes to be kobjects such that
the device tree could by more simply exposed to userspace using sysfs.

Commit 0829f6d1f6 ("of: device_node kobject lifecycle fixes") (Mar 2014)
followed up these changes to better control the kobject lifecycle and in
particular the referecne counting via of_node_get(), of_node_put(), and
of_node_init().

A result of this second commit was that it introduced an of_node_put() call when
a dynamic node is detached, in of_node_remove(), that removes the initial kobj
reference created by of_node_init().

Traditionally as the original dynamic device node user the pseries code had
assumed responsibilty for releasing this final reference in its platform
specific DLPAR detach code.

This patch fixes a refcount underflow introduced by commit 0829f6d1f6, and
recently exposed by the upstreaming of the recount API.

Messages like the following are no longer seen in the kernel log with this
patch following DLPAR remove operations of cpus and pci devices.

Nicholas Piggin 544686cae8 powerpc/64s: Stop using bit in HSPRG0 to test winkle
The POWER8 idle code has a neat trick of programming the power on engine
to restore a low bit into HSPRG0, so idle wakeup code can test and see
if it has been programmed this way and therefore lost all state. Restore
time can be reduced if winkle has not been reached.

However this messes with our r13 PACA pointer, and requires HSPRG0 to be
written to. It also optimizes the slowest and most uncommon case at the
expense of another SPR write in the common nap state wakeup.

Remove this complexity and assume winkle sleeps always require a state
restore. This speedup could be made entirely contained within the winkle
idle code by counting per-core winkles and setting a thread bitmap when
all have gone to winkle.

Nicholas Piggin 2384d2d7ad powerpc/64s: Remove ICSWX feature from Power9
Power9 does not implement the icswx instruction. This CPU feature is not visible
to userspace and is only used in the CONFIG_PPC_ICSWX code, which is generally
not enabled, and can only be triggered by other code using icswx, which should
not happen on Power9 systems in the first place. So impact should be minimal.

Michael Ellerman 40e275653e powerpc/powernv: Always enable SMP when building powernv
The powernv platform supports Power7 and later CPUs, all of which are
multithreaded and multicore.

As such we never build a SMP=n kernel for those machines, other than
possibly for debugging or running in a simulator.

In the debugging case we can get a similar effect by booting with
nr_cpus=1, or there's always the option of building a custom kernel with
SMP hacked out.

For running in simulators the code size reduction from building without
SMP is not particularly important, what matters is the number of
instructions executed. A quick test shows that a SMP=y kernel takes ~6%
more instructions to boot to a shell. Booting with nr_cpus=1 recovers
about half that deficit.

On the flip side, keeping the SMP=n kernel building can be a pain at
times. And although we've mostly kept it building in recent years, no
one is regularly testing that the SMP=n kernel actually boots and works
well on these machines.

Of the 64-bit Book3S platforms, only powermac supports booting on an
actual non-SMP system. The other platforms can be built with SMP
disabled, but it doesn't make a lot of sense given the CPUs they support
are all multicore or multithreaded.

So give platforms the option of forcing SMP=y.

Nicholas Piggin b866cc2199 powerpc: Change the doorbell IPI calling convention
Change the doorbell callers to know about their msgsnd addressing,
rather than have them set a per-cpu target data tag at boot that gets
sent to the cause_ipi functions. The data is only used for doorbell IPI
functions, no other IPI types, so it makes sense to keep that detail
local to doorbell.

Have the platform code understand doorbell IPIs, rather than the
interrupt controller code understand them. Platform code can look at
capabilities it has available and decide which to use.

Gautham R. Shenoy 17ed4c8f81 powerpc/powernv: Recover correct PACA on wakeup from a stop on P9 DD1
POWER9 DD1.0 hardware has a bug where the SPRs of a thread waking up
from stop 0,1,2 with ESL=1 can endup being misplaced in the core. Thus
the HSPRG0 of a thread waking up from can contain the paca pointer of
its sibling.

This patch implements a context recovery framework within threads of a
core, by provisioning space in paca_struct for saving every sibling
threads's paca pointers. Basically, we should be able to arrive at the
right paca pointer from any of the thread's existing paca pointer.

At bootup, during powernv idle-init, we save the paca address of every
CPU in each one its siblings paca_struct in the slot corresponding to
this CPU's index in the core.

On wakeup from a stop, the thread will determine its index in the core
from the TIR register and recover its PACA pointer by indexing into
the correct slot in the provisioned space in the current PACA.

Furthermore, ensure that the NVGPRs are restored from the stack on the
way out by setting the NAPSTATELOST in paca.

Gautham R. Shenoy f3b3f28493 powerpc/powernv/idle: Don't override default/deepest directly in kernel
Currently during idle-init on power9, if we don't find suitable stop
states in the device tree that can be used as the
default_stop/deepest_stop, we set stop0 (ESL=1,EC=1) as the default
stop state psscr to be used by power9_idle and deepest stop state
which is used by CPU-Hotplug.

However, if the platform firmware has not configured or enabled a stop
state, the kernel should not make any assumptions and fallback to a
default choice.

If the kernel uses a stop state that is not configured by the platform
firmware, it may lead to further failures which should be avoided.

In this patch, we modify the init code to ensure that the kernel uses
only the stop states exposed by the firmware through the device
tree. When a suitable default stop state isn't found, we disable
ppc_md.power_save for power9. Similarly, when a suitable
deepest_stop_state is not found in the device tree exported by the
firmware, fall back to the default busy-wait loop in the CPU-Hotplug
code.

Gautham R. Shenoy 9006123157 powerpc/powernv/smp: Add busy-wait loop as fall back for CPU-Hotplug
Currently, the powernv cpu-offline function assumes that platform idle
states such as stop on POWER9, winkle/sleep/nap on POWER8 are always
available. On POWER8, it picks nap as the default state if other deep
idle states like sleep/winkle are not available and enabled in the
platform.

On POWER9, nap is not available and all idle states are managed by
STOP instruction.  The parameters to the idle state are passed through
processor stop status control register (PSSCR).  Hence as such
executing STOP would take parameters from current PSSCR. We do not
want to make any assumptions in kernel on what STOP states and PSSCR
features are configured by the platform.

Ideally platform will configure a good set of stop states that can be
used in the kernel.  We would like to start with a clean slate, if the
platform choose to not configure any state or there is an error in
platform firmware that lead to no stop states being configured or
allowed to be requested.

This patch adds a fallback method for CPU-Hotplug that is similar to
snooze loop at idle where the threads are left to spin at low priority
and hence reduce the cycles consumed.

This is a safe fallback mechanism in the case when no stop state would
be requested if the platform firmware did not configure them most
likely due to an error condition.

Requesting a stop state when the platform has not configured them or
enabled them would lead to further error conditions which could be
difficult to debug.

"powerpc" directory tree in debugfs.

Currently it sits in asm/debug.h, a long with some other things that
have "debug" in the name, but are otherwise unrelated.

Pull it out into a separate header, which also includes linux/debugfs.h,
and convert all the users to include debugfs.h instead of debug.h.

In the recent commit 1ab66d1fba ("powerpc/powernv: Introduce address
translation services for Nvlink2") the NPU code gained a dependency on MMU
notifiers.

All our defconfigs have KVM enabled, which selects MMU_NOTIFIER, but if KVM is
not enabled then the build breaks.

Fix it by always selecting MMU_NOTIFIER when we're building powernv.

Benjamin Herrenschmidt d381d7caf8 powerpc: Consolidate variants of real-mode MMIOs
We have all sort of variants of MMIO accessors for the real mode
instructions. This creates a clean set of accessors based on
Linux normal naming conventions, replacing all occurrences of
the old ones in the tree.

I have purposefully removed the "out/in" variants in favor of
only including __raw variants. Any code using these is already
pretty much hand tuned to operate in a very specific environment.
I've fixed up the 2 users (only one of them actually needed
a barrier in the first place).

Benjamin Herrenschmidt 243e25112d powerpc/xive: Native exploitation of the XIVE interrupt controller
The XIVE interrupt controller is the new interrupt controller
found in POWER9. It supports advanced virtualization capabilities
among other things.

Currently we use a set of firmware calls that simulate the old
"XICS" interrupt controller but this is fairly inefficient.

This adds the framework for using XIVE along with a native
backend which OPAL for configuration. Later, a backend allowing
the use in a KVM or PowerVM guest will also be provided.

This disables some fast path for interrupts in KVM when XIVE is
enabled as these rely on the firmware emulation code which is no
longer available when the XIVE is used natively by Linux.

A latter patch will make KVM also directly exploit the XIVE, thus
recovering the lost performance (and more).

Benjamin Herrenschmidt a978e13965 powerpc/smp: Remove migrate_irq() custom implementation
Some powerpc platforms use this to move IRQs away from a CPU being
unplugged. This function has several bugs such as not taking the right
locks or failing to NULL check pointers.

There's a new generic function doing exactly the same thing without all
the bugs, so let's use it instead.

mpe: The obvious place for the select of GENERIC_IRQ_MIGRATION is on
HOTPLUG_CPU, but that doesn't work. On some configs PM_SLEEP_SMP will
select HOTPLUG_CPU even though its dependencies are not met, which means
the select of GENERIC_IRQ_MIGRATION doesn't happen. That leads to the
build breaking. Fix it by moving the select of GENERIC_IRQ_MIGRATION to
SMP.

Alistair Popple 1ab66d1fba powerpc/powernv: Introduce address translation services for Nvlink2
Nvlink2 supports address translation services (ATS) allowing devices
to request address translations from an mmu known as the nest MMU
which is setup to walk the CPU page tables.

To access this functionality certain firmware calls are required to
setup and manage hardware context tables in the nvlink processing unit
(NPU). The NPU also manages forwarding of TLB invalidates (known as
address translation shootdowns/ATSDs) to attached devices.

This patch exports several methods to allow device drivers to register
a process id (PASID/PID) in the hardware tables and to receive
notification of when a device should stop issuing address translation
requests (ATRs). It also adds a fault handler to allow device drivers
to demand fault pages in.
