Bjorn Helgaas 736759ef59 PCI: Add SPDX GPL-2.0+ to replace GPL v2 or later boilerplate
Add SPDX GPL-2.0+ to all PCI files that specified the GPL and allowed
either GPL version 2 or any later version.

Remove the boilerplate GPL version 2 or later language, relying on the
assertion in b24413180f ("License cleanup: add SPDX GPL-2.0 license
identifier to files with no license") that the SPDX identifier may be used
instead of the full boilerplate text.

Paul Gortmaker 57b51b9adb PCI: hotplug: Make core explicitly non-modular
This code is not being built as a module by anyone:

  obj-$(CONFIG_HOTPLUG_PCI) += pci_hotplug.o
  [...]
  pci_hotplug-objs                    := pci_hotplug_core.o

  drivers/pci/hotplug/Kconfig:menuconfig HOTPLUG_PCI
drivers/pci/hotplug/Kconfig: bool "Support for PCI Hotplug"

Remove uses of MODULE_DESCRIPTION(), MODULE_AUTHOR(), MODULE_LICENSE(),
etc., so that when reading the driver there is no doubt it is builtin-only.
The information is preserved in comments at the top of the file.

Remove orphaned exit function in cpci_hotplug_core.c.

Note that for non-modular code, module_init() translates to
device_initcall(). One could argue that we should use subsys_initcall()
here, but for now we stick with runtime equivalence.

We would delete module.h and just keep the moduleparam.h include (since the
file does use module_param), but there is a try_module_get and module_put
pairing that prevents us from doing that.

Bogicevic Sasa ff3ce480e8 PCI: Fix all whitespace issues
Fix all whitespace issues (missing or needed whitespace) in all files in
drivers/pci. Code is compiled with allyesconfig before and after code
changes and objects are recorded and checked with objdiff and they are not
changed after this commit.

Bjorn Helgaas f39d5b7291 PCI: Remove "extern" from function declarations
We had an inconsistent mix of using and omitting the "extern" keyword
on function declarations in header files. This removes them all.

Bjorn Helgaas c3139ba212 PCI: Move cpci_hotplug_init() proto to header file
cpci_hotplug_init() and cpci_hotplug_exit() are defined in
cpci_hotplug_core.c but had extern declarations in pci_hotplug_core.c.
This puts the declarations in a header file included both places so
the compiler can help keep everything consistent.

Alex Chiang d6c479e0b7 PCI: cpci_hotplug: stop managing hotplug_slot->name
We no longer need to manage our version of hotplug_slot->name
since the PCI and hotplug core manage it on our behalf.

Now, we simply advise the PCI core of the name that we would
like, and let the core take care of the rest.

Scott Murray 43b7d7cfb1 [PATCH] PCI Hotplug: CPCI update
[PATCH] CPCI: update

I have finally done some work to update the CompactPCI hotplug driver to
fix some of the outstanding issues in 2.6:
- Added adapter and latch status ops so that those files will get created
by the current PCI hotplug core. This used to not be required, but
seems to be now after some of the sysfs rework in the core.
- Replaced slot list spinlock with a r/w semaphore to avoid any potential
issues with sleeping. This quiets all of the runtime warnings.
- Reworked interrupt driven hot extraction handling to remove need for a
polling operator for ENUM# status. There are a lot of boards that only
have an interrupt driven by ENUM#, so this lowers the bar to entry.
- Replaced pci_visit_dev usage with better use of the PCI core functions.
The new code is functionally equivalent to the previous code, but the
use of pci_enable_device on insert needs to be investigated further, as
I need to do some more testing to see if it is still necessary.

Linus Torvalds 1da177e4c3 Linux-2.6.12-rc2
Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history,
even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git
archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about
3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early
git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good
infrastructure for it.

Let it rip!
