Simon Baatz ef980cf8b0 mtd: nand: orion: improve handling of optional clock
The clock gate used by orion_nand is not available on all platforms.
When getting this optional clock gate, the code masked all errors.
Let's be more precise here and actually only allow ENOENT.

EPROBE_DEFER is handled like any other error code since probe deferral
is not supported by drivers using module_platform_driver_probe().

Simon Baatz 675b11d94c mtd: nand: orion: fix clk handling
The clk handling in orion_nand.c had two problems:

- In the probe function, clk_put() was called for an enabled clock,
which violates the API (see documentation for clk_put() in
  include/linux/clk.h)

- In the error path of the probe function, clk_put() could be called
  twice for the same clock.

In order to clean this up, use the managed function devm_clk_get() and
store the pointer to the clk in the driver data.

Brian Norris a61ae81a19 mtd: nand: drop unnecessary partition parser data
All of these drivers set up a parser data struct just to communicate DT
partition data. This field has been deprecated and is instead supported
by telling nand_scan_ident() about the 'flash_node'.

This patch:
 * sets chip->flash_node for those drivers that didn't already (but used
   OF partitioning)
 * drops the parser data
 * switches to the simpler mtd_device_register() where possible, now
that we've eliminated one of the auxiliary parameters

Now that we've assigned chip->flash_node for these drivers, we can
probably rely on nand_dt_init() to do more of the DT parsing for us, but
for now, I don't want to fiddle with each of these drivers. The parsing
is done in duplicate for now on some drivers. I don't think this should
break things. (Famous last words.)

Michael Opdenacker a0fa0b66ac mtd: orion_nand: fix error code path in probe
This replaces kzalloc() and ioremap() calls by devm_ functions
in the probe() routine, which automatically release the corresponding
resources when probe() fails or when the device is removed.

This simplifies simplifies the error management code, and brings
the below improvements or changes:

A. Fixing a bug reported by "make coccicheck":

If "board = devm_kzalloc()" fails, the probe() function jumps
incorrectly to label "no_res" and therefore returns without
running iounmap().

B. Requesting the memory region

Using devm_ioremap_resource() makes the probe() function request
the corresponding memory region before running ioremap(), as
it is supposed to do.

C. Standardizing the error codes:

The use of devm_ioremap_resource() changes the return value:
 * -ENOMEM instead of -EIO in case of ioremap() failure,
 * -EINVAL instead of -ENODEV in case of platform_get_resource()
   failure.

Thomas Petazzoni 32098f6af0 mtd: orion_nand: remove <mach/hardware.h> include
Commit abcda1dc ('arm: plat-orion: introduce PLAT_ORION_LEGACY hidden
config option') currently pending in linux-next will make the ARCH_MVEBU
platform select PLAT_ORION, which means that now all Orion drivers can
be enabled on ARCH_MVEBU. This works fine for most drivers, except for
orion_nand, because it includes <mach/hardware.h>, but mach-mvebu does
not have a mach/hardware.h header (it is considered as a deprecated
practice).

It turns out that the <mach/hardware.h> include in orion_nand is not
necessary: the driver builds perfectly fine without it, so we simply
get rid of it.

Paulius Zaleckas a88a2b8864 mtd: fix Orion NAND driver compilation with ARM OABI
We must tell GCC to use even register for variable passed to ldrd
instruction. Without this patch GCC 4.2.1 puts this variable to r2/r3 on
EABI and r3/r4 on OABI, so force it to r2/r3. This does not change
anything when EABI and OABI compilation works OK.

Without this patch and with OABI I get:

    CC drivers/mtd/nand/orion_nand.o
  /tmp/ccMkwOCs.s: Assembler messages:

Peter Huewe 2d6bfc261a mtd: orion_nand: Fix build failure caused by typo
Commit e99030609e ("mtd: orion_nand.c: add
error handling and use resource_size()") introduced a build error -- it
assigns something to a undeclared variable 'err', whereas the rest of
the code uses 'ret' for this task.

This patch fixes this typo and thus removes the build failure.

Uwe Kleine-König f33dabbe79 mtd: nand: register orion_nand using platform_driver_probe()
orion_nand_probe lives in .init.text, so using platform_driver_register to
register it is wrong because binding a device after the init memory is
discarded (e.g. via sysfs) results in an oops.

As requested by Nicolas Pitre platform_driver_probe is used instead of
moving the probe function to .devinit.text as proposed initially. This
saves some memory, but devices registered after the driver is probed are
not bound (probably there are none) and binding via sysfs isn't possible.

Simon Kagstrom 94da210af4 [ARM] Orion NAND: Make asm volatile avoid GCC pushing ldrd out of the loop
GCC 4.3.3 and 4.4.1 happily moves the dword load instruction out of the
loop in orion_nand_read_buf. This patch makes the instruction volatile
to avoid the issue. I've discussed this at gcc-help, refer to the thread
at

The early clobber is added to avoid the destination registers and the
