Using of_graph_parse_endpoint recovers the port id from an endpoint device
tree node. This just replaces an open coded read of the "reg" property.

This patch adds support to find the involved components connected to
the IPU display interface ports using the OF graph bindings documented
in Documentation/devicetree/bindings/media/video-interfaces.txt.
It makes use of the of_graph (formerly v4l2_of) parsing helpers and
thus depends on the patch that moves those out to drivers/of.
Each display interface needs to have an associated port node in the
device tree. We can associate this node with the crtc platform device
and use it to find the crtc corresponding to a given port node instead
of using a combination of parent device node and id number, as before.
Explicitly converting the void* cookie to the port device tree node
allows to get rid of the ipu_id and di_id fields. The multiplexer
setting on i.MX6 now can be obtained from the port id (reg property)
in the device tree.
The imx-drm node now needs a ports property that contains phandles
to each of the IPU display interface port nodes. From there, all
attached encoders are scanned and enabled encoders are added to a
waiting list.
The bind order makes sure that once all components are probed, crtcs
are bound before encoders, so that imx_drm_encoder_parse_of can be
called from the encoder bind callbacks.
For parsing the OF graph, temporary copies of the V4L2 OF graph
helpers are used, that can be removed again once those are available
at a generic place.

The IPU display controller supports a non-standard green-red-blue ordered
format that is used on the connection between IPU display interface 1 and
the TV encoder on i.MX53.
In preparation for the move of IPU core code out of staging, place the
IPU_PIX_FMT_GBR24 definition in imx-ipu-v3.h, so that both the IPU
display interface driver and the TVE encoder driver can access it.

Add hotplug support. We have to make the interrupt handler threaded so
we can call drm_helper_hpd_irq_event(). Keeping in mind that we will
want to share the interrupt with other HDMI interface drivers (eg, audio
and CEC) put the groundwork in now for that, rather than just using
IRQF_ONESHOT.
Also, we must not call drm_helper_hpd_irq_event() until we have fully
setup the connector; keep the interrupt(s) muted until after that point.

The component helper provides us the drm_device which is being
registered. Rather than having to reference a global in imx-drm-core,
use this to get the imxdrm device, and also use it to register the CRTC
against.
This means we never have CRTCs/encoders/connectors without the drivers
private data being accessible.
Remove the module owner field as well; this provides no protection
against the device being unbound.

imx-fb.c doesn't need to be separate from imx-drm-core.c - all it is
doing is setting up the minimum and maximum sizes of the scanout
buffers, and setting up the mode_config function pointers. Move the
contents into imx-drm-core.c and kill this file.

Now that we know when the components of the imx-drm subsystem will be
initialised, we can move the fbdev helper initialisation and teardown
into imx-drm-core. This gives us the required ordering that DRM wants
in both driver load and unload methods.
We can also stop exporting the imx_drm_device_get() and
imx_drm_device_put() methods; nothing but the fbdev helper was making
use of these.

Delay publishing sysfs connector entries until all components have
initialised. This reduces the probability of generating false hotplug
events when we're uncertain whether the driver can fully initialise.
This also pulls that code out of the individual imx-drm connector
drivers.

The encoder format passed into imx_drm_crtc_panel_format*() is the
encoder format used for DRM in most cases; the HDMI encoder sets
this to none, but this is incorrect, it should be TMDS.
Since this is the case, we can pass the drm_encoder structure
directly into this function and use the supplied fields there to
configure the CRTC.

Address the following issues:
- imx_drm_encoder_get_mux_id() searches the CRTC list for the matching
CRTC, and returns the position within this list as the MUX programming
value for encoders. This is sub-optimal for two reasons:
1. It relies upon the CRTC list not changing during the lifetime of
the driver.
2. It is dependent on the initialisation order of the CRTCs.
We address (1) in this patch, leaving (2) until a better solution can
be found, as (2) requires larger changes.
- imx_drm_encoder is unused. Instead, pass the drm_encoder which is
slightly more useful; all callers pass encoder->crtc as the required
crtc, so move this inside the function.

The DI clock selection was very rudimentary: it would statically use
either the IPU internal clock or the DI external clock depending on
which "encoder" was being used. In the case of HDMI, it would always
use the IPU clock.
Moreover, using the IPU clock resulted in fractional divisors, which
are achieved by skipping clock pulses. This can result in the HDMI
PHY PLL being frequency modulated, and the attached device is then
unable to properly lock on to the TMDS clock.
We need at least 1% accurate and stable clocks for HDMI.
Arrange for the DI clock to be sourced from the IPU internal clock
if it can satisfy our requirements, otherwise switch to the DI
external clock and try and set the external clock to our desired
pixel clock rate.

Many of the variables for the audio clock regenerator (CTS/N) were not
initialised in any way. The pixel rate which was being used also
wasn't being adjusted at all when the display mode is modified.
Get rid of the seaprate 'pixel_clk_rate', and use the stored pixel
clock rate instead. Pass this desired pixel clock rate into
hdmi_set_clk_regenerator(). Collapse down hdmi_init_clk_regenerator()
since it is a copy of hdmi_set_clk_regenerator(), and pass a default
pixel clock rate.

operations. One of them is via the private imxdrm structure, the
other is via the DRM crtc structure, which also stores a pointer.

This patch allows to select a specific video mode from a list of modes
defined in DT by setting the 'native-mode' property appropriately.
Since all current users of this driver have only one mode defined in
their .dts files, the patch does not change the behaviour of this
driver on the affected platforms.

imx_drm_crtc_register() doesn't clean up the CRTC upon failure, which
leaves the CRTC attached to the DRM device. Also, it does setup after
attaching the CRTC to the DRM device.
Fix this by reordering the function such that we do the setup before
drm_crtc_init(): this fixes both issues.

Enable lock claims that it is serializing tve_enable/disable calls.
However, DRM already serialises mode sets with a mutex, which prevents
encoder/connector functions being called concurrently. Secondly,
holding a spinlock while calling clk_prepare_enable() is wrong; it
will cause a might_sleep() warning should that debugging be enabled.
So, let's just get rid of the enable_lock.

Clean up the IPUv3 CRTC device registration; we don't need a separate
function just to call platform_device_register_data(), and we don't
need the return value converted at all.
Update the IPU client id under a mutex, so that parallel probing
doesn't race.

We must call drm_vblank_cleanup() on the error cleanup and unload paths
after we've had a successful call to drm_vblank_init(). Ensure that
the calls are in the reverse order to the initialisation order.

None of these files are actually using any __init type directives
and hence don't need to include <linux/init.h>. Most are just a
left over from __devinit and __cpuinit removal, or simply due to
code getting copied from one driver to the next.

commit b8d181e408 (staging: drm/imx: add drm plane support) added a file
to the make target for DRM_IMX_IPUV3 but didn't adjust the objs required
to actually build that as a module. Kbuild got confused and this lead to
link errors like:
ERROR: "ipu_plane_disable" [drivers/staging/imx-drm/ipuv3-crtc.ko] undefined!
ERROR: "ipu_plane_enable" [drivers/staging/imx-drm/ipuv3-crtc.ko] undefined!
Additionally, it added a call to imx_drm_crtc_id which also fails with a
link error as above. To fix this, we adjust the make target with the proper
objs, which will change the name of the resulting .ko. We also add an
EXPORT_SYMBOL_GPL for imx_drm_crtc_id.

Pull DMA mask updates from Russell King:
"This series cleans up the handling of DMA masks in a lot of drivers,
fixing some bugs as we go.
Some of the more serious errors include:
- drivers which only set their coherent DMA mask if the attempt to
set the streaming mask fails.
- drivers which test for a NULL dma mask pointer, and then set the
dma mask pointer to a location in their module .data section -
which will cause problems if the module is reloaded.
To counter these, I have introduced two helper functions:
- dma_set_mask_and_coherent() takes care of setting both the
streaming and coherent masks at the same time, with the correct
error handling as specified by the API.
- dma_coerce_mask_and_coherent() which resolves the problem of
drivers forcefully setting DMA masks. This is more a marker for
future work to further clean these locations up - the code which
creates the devices really should be initialising these, but to fix
that in one go along with this change could potentially be very
disruptive.
The last thing this series does is prise away some of Linux's addition
to "DMA addresses are physical addresses and RAM always starts at
zero". We have ARM LPAE systems where all system memory is above 4GB
physical, hence having DMA masks interpreted by (eg) the block layers
as describing physical addresses in the range 0..DMAMASK fails on
these platforms. Santosh Shilimkar addresses this in this series; the
patches were copied to the appropriate people multiple times but were
ignored.
Fixing this also gets rid of some ARM weirdness in the setup of the
max*pfn variables, and brings ARM into line with every other Linux
architecture as far as those go"

The correct way for a driver to specify the coherent DMA mask is
not to directly access the field in the struct device, but to use
dma_set_coherent_mask(). Only arch and bus code should access this
member directly.
Convert all direct write accesses to using the correct API.

sig_cfg.clk_pol controls the 'di0_polarity_disp_clk' bit of register
IPUx_DI0_GENERAL through the following code in imx-drm/ipu-v3/ipu-di.c:

di_gen |= DI_GEN_POLARITY_DISP_CLK;
With 'di0_polarity_disp_clk' bit set we do not have stable HDMI output on
mx6solo: contours of pictures look jittery and the white colour does not appear
really white.

This patch adds support for a drm overlay plane on DI0 using the DP.
In principle, the overlay plane could also be used on DI1, but to switch
the overlay plane between display interfaces, the base planes would have
to be exchanged transparently while both display interfaces are inactive.

During a device close the drm core frees all pending events in
drm_events_release(). If at that time a pageflip is pending the
interrupt handler will try to complete the now unitialized
event resulting in a NULL pointer exception. Seen on imx-drm
when userspace is killed during a page flip.

Currently we wait for a channel until it's idle before actually
disabling it. This is not needed for all channels though, so make
waiting for idle a separate function and call it where necessary.

The drm fourccs define formats not available as video4linux pixel formats,
such as DRM_FORMAT_BGR565, or the DRM_FORMAT_RGBX/BGRX variants.
Also, contrary to the v4l2 formats, the drm formats are well defined.
This patch also fixes the BGRA32 and RGB/RGB24 internal formats to use a
common internal representation.

Connecting a 320x240 parallel display on i.MX6 resulted in an invalid DRDY
signal because the DC would not receive NL/EOL events on every line.
Reducing the allocated DMFC space from 4 slots (256 * 128-bit) to 2 slots
(128 * 128-bit) solved the problem.

For drivers which might want to disable fbdev legacy support.
Select the new option in all drivers for now, so this shouldn't result
in any change. Drivers need some work anyway to make fbdev support
optional (if they have it implemented, that is), so the recommended
way to expose this is by adding per-driver options. At least as long
as most drivers don't support disabling the fbdev support.
v2: Update for new drm drivers msm and rcar-du. Note that Rob's msm
driver can already take advantage of this, which allows us to build
msm without any fbdev depencies in the kernel!

The reason for the probe failure is that now 'imxdrm->references' is incremented
early in imx_drm_driver_load(), so the following checks in imx_drm_add_crtc()
and imx_drm_add_encoder():

Instead of manually keeping the references in the imx-drm driver, let's use
drm->open_count.

I2C of helpers used to live in of_i2c.c but experience (from SPI) shows
that it is much cleaner to have this in the core. This also removes a
circular dependency between the helpers and the core, and so we can
finally register child nodes in the core instead of doing this manually
in each driver. So, fix the drivers and documentation, too.
