The module eeprom address range returned by bnxt_get_module_eeprom()
should be 256 bytes of A0h address space, the lower half of the A2h
address space, and page 0 for the upper half of the A2h address space.
Fix the firmware call by passing page_number 0 for the A2h slave address
space.

If the VF virtual link is set to always enabled, the speed may be
unknown when the physical link is down. The driver currently logs
the link speed as 4294967295 Mbps which is SPEED_UNKNOWN. Modify
the link up log message as "speed unknown" which makes more sense.

As part of the commit b148bb238c
("bnxt_en: Fix possible crash in bnxt_fw_reset_task()."),
cancel_delayed_work_sync() is called only for VFs to fix a possible
crash by cancelling any pending delayed work items. It was assumed
by mistake that the flush_workqueue() call on the PF would flush
delayed work items as well.
As flush_workqueue() does not cancel the delayed workqueue, extend
the fix for PFs. This fix will avoid the system crash, if there are
any pending delayed work items in fw_reset_task() during driver's
.remove() call.
Unify the workqueue cleanup logic for both PF and VF by calling
cancel_work_sync() and cancel_delayed_work_sync() directly in
bnxt_remove_one().

A recent patch has moved the workqueue cleanup logic before
calling unregister_netdev() in bnxt_remove_one(). This caused a
regression because the workqueue can be restarted if the device is
still open. Workqueue cleanup must be done after unregister_netdev().
The workqueue will not restart itself after the device is closed.
Call bnxt_cancel_sp_work() after unregister_netdev() and
call bnxt_dl_fw_reporters_destroy() after that. This fixes the
regession and the original NULL ptr dereference issue.

When a PCIe fatal error occurs, the internal latched BAR addresses
in the chip get reset even though the BAR register values in config
space are retained.
pci_restore_state() will not rewrite the BAR addresses if the
BAR address values are valid, causing the chip's internal BAR addresses
to stay invalid. So we need to zero the BAR registers during PCIe fatal
error to force pci_restore_state() to restore the BAR addresses. These
write cycles to the BAR registers will cause the proper BAR addresses to
latch internally.

In the AER or firmware reset flow, if we are in fatal error state or
if pci_channel_offline() is true, we don't send any commands to the
firmware because the commands will likely not reach the firmware and
most commands don't matter much because the firmware is likely to be
reset imminently.
However, the HWRM_FUNC_RESET command is different and we should always
attempt to send it. In the AER flow for example, the .slot_reset()
call will trigger this fw command and we need to try to send it to
effect the proper reset.

Returning "unknown" as a temperature value violates the hwmon interface
rules. Appropriate error codes should be returned via device_attribute
show instead. These will ultimately be propagated to the user via the
file system interface.
In addition to the corrected error handling, it is an even better idea to
not present the sensor in sysfs at all if it is known that the read will
definitely fail. Given that temp1_input is currently the only sensor
reported, ensure no hwmon registration if TEMP_MONITOR_QUERY is not
supported or if it will fail due to access permissions. Something smarter
may be needed if and when other sensors are added.

bnxt_fw_reset_task() which runs from a workqueue can race with
bnxt_remove_one(). For example, if firmware reset and VF FLR are
happening at about the same time.
bnxt_remove_one() already cancels the workqueue and waits for it
to finish, but we need to do this earlier before the devlink
reporters are destroyed. This will guarantee that
the devlink reporters will always be valid when bnxt_fw_reset_task()
is still running.

When the driver goes through PCIe AER reset in error state, all
firmware messages will timeout because the PCIe bus is no longer
accessible. This can lead to AER reset taking many minutes to
complete as each firmware command takes time to timeout.
Define a new macro BNXT_NO_FW_ACCESS() to skip these firmware messages
when either firmware is in fatal error state or when
pci_channel_offline() is true. It now takes a more reasonable 20 to
30 seconds to complete AER recovery.

If tg3_reset_task() fails, the device state is left in an inconsistent
state with IFF_RUNNING still set but NAPI state not enabled. A
subsequent operation, such as ifdown or AER error can cause it to
soft lock up when it tries to disable NAPI state.
Fix it by bringing down the device to !IFF_RUNNING state when
tg3_reset_task() fails. tg3_reset_task() running from workqueue
will now call tg3_close() when the reset fails. We need to
modify tg3_reset_task_cancel() slightly to avoid tg3_close()
calling cancel_work_sync() to cancel tg3_reset_task(). Otherwise
cancel_work_sync() will wait forever for tg3_reset_task() to
finish.

Firmware returns RESOURCE_ACCESS_DENIED for HWRM_TEMP_MONITORY_QUERY for
VFs. This produces unpleasing error messages in the log when temp1_input
is queried via the hwmon sysfs interface from a VF.
The error is harmless and expected, so silence it and return unknown as
the value. Since the device temperature is not particularly sensitive
information, provide flexibility to change this policy in future by
silencing the error rather than avoiding the HWRM call entirely for VFs.

bnxt_fw_reset_task() is run from a delayed workqueue. The current
code is not cancelling the workqueue in the driver's .remove()
method and it can potentially crash if the device is removed with
the workqueue still pending.
The fix is to clear the BNXT_STATE_IN_FW_RESET flag and then cancel
the delayed workqueue in bnxt_remove_one(). bnxt_queue_fw_reset_work()
also needs to check that this flag is set before scheduling. This
will guarantee that no rescheduling will be done after it is cancelled.

In rare conditions like two stage OS installation, the
ethtool's get_channels function may be called when the
device is in D3 state, leading to uncorrectable PCI error.
Check netif_running() first before making any query to FW
which involves writing to BAR.

The current completion ring sizing formula is wrong with TPA enabled.
The formula assumes that the number of TPA completions are bound by the
RX ring size, but that's not true. TPA_START completions are immediately
recycled so they are not bound by the RX ring size. We must add
bp->max_tpa to the worst case maximum RX and TPA completions.
The completion ring can overflow because of this mistake. This will
cause hardware to disable the completion ring when this happens,
leading to RX and TX traffic to stall on that ring. This issue is
generally exposed only when the RX ring size is set very small.
Fix the formula by adding bp->max_tpa to the number of RX completions
if TPA is enabled.

settings about 2 years ago. The pause setting was missed when
making that change. Fix it by acquiring link_lock mutex before

When commit 474ea9cafc ("net: bcmgenet: correctly pad short
packets") added the call to skb_padto() it should have been
located before the nr_frags parameter was read since that value
could be changed when padding packets with lengths between 55
and 59 bytes (inclusive).
The use of a stale nr_frags value can cause corruption of the
pad data when tx-scatter-gather is enabled. This corruption of
the pad can cause invalid checksum computation when hardware
offload of tx-checksum is also enabled.
Since the original reason for the padding was corrected by
commit 7dd399130e ("net: bcmgenet: fix skb_len in
bcmgenet_xmit_single()") we can remove the software padding all
together and make use of hardware padding of short frames as
long as the hardware also always appends the FCS value to the
frame.

The driver function tg3_io_error_detected() calls napi_disable twice,
without an intervening napi_enable, when the number of EEH errors exceeds
eeh_max_freezes, resulting in an indefinite sleep while holding rtnl_lock.
Add check for pcierr_recovery which skips code already executed for the
"Frozen" state.

Broadcom STB chips support a deep sleep mode where all register contents
are lost. Because we were stashing the MagicPacket password into some of
these registers a suspend into that deep sleep then a resumption would
not lead to being able to wake-up from MagicPacket with password again.
Fix this by keeping a software copy of the password and program it
during suspend.

This commit explicitly calls the bcmgenet_set_rx_mode() function when
the network interface is started. This function is normally called by
ndo_set_rx_mode when the flags are changed, but apparently not when
the driver is suspended and resumed.
This change ensures that address filtering or promiscuous mode are
properly restored by the driver after the MAC may have been reset.

We have logic to maintain network counters across resets by storing
the counters in bp->net_stats_prev before reset. But not all resets
will clear the counters. Certain resets that don't need to change
the number of rings do not clear the counters. The current logic
accumulates the counters before all resets, causing big jumps in
the counters after some resets, such as ethtool -G.
Fix it by only accumulating the counters during reset if the irq_re_init
parameter is set. The parameter signifies that all rings and interrupts
will be reset and that means that the counters will also be reset.

The current logic in bnxt_fix_features() will inadvertently turn on both
CTAG and STAG VLAN offload if the user tries to disable both. Fix it
by checking that the user is trying to enable CTAG or STAG before
enabling both. The logic is supposed to enable or disable both CTAG and
STAG together.

Improve the slot reset sequence by disabling the device to prevent bad
DMAs if slot reset fails. Return the proper result instead of always
PCI_ERS_RESULT_RECOVERED to the caller.

Broadcom adapters support only maximum of 512 CQs per PF. If user sets
MSIx vectors more than supported CQs, firmware is setting incorrect value
for msix_vec_per_pf_max parameter. Fix it by reducing the BNXT_MSIX_VEC_MAX
value to 512, even though the maximum # of MSIx vectors supported by adapter
are 1280.

Fix the logic that sets the enable/disable flag for the source MAC
filter according to firmware spec 1.7.1.
In the original firmware spec. before 1.7.1, the VF spoof check flags
were not latched after making the HWRM_FUNC_CFG call, so there was a
need to keep the func_flags so that subsequent calls would perserve
the VF spoof check setting. A change was made in the 1.7.1 spec
so that the flags became latched. So we now set or clear the anti-
spoof setting directly without retrieving the old settings in the
stored vf->func_flags which are no longer valid. We also remove the
unneeded vf->func_flags.

The driver is designed to drop Rx packets and reclaim the buffers
when an allocation fails, and the network interface needs to safely
handle this packet loss. Therefore, an allocation failure of Rx
SKBs is relatively benign.
However, the output of the warning message occurs with a high
scheduling priority that can cause excessive jitter/latency for
other high priority processing.
This commit suppresses the warning messages to prevent scheduling
problems while retaining the failure count in the statistics of
the network interface.

The change to track net_device_stats per ring to better support SMP
missed updating the rx_dropped member.
The ndo_get_stats method is also needed to combine the results for
ethtool statistics (-S) before filling in the ethtool structure.

If ring counts are not reset when ring reservation fails,
bnxt_init_dflt_ring_mode() will not be called again to reinitialise
IRQs when open() is called and results in system crash as napi will
also be not initialised. This patch fixes it by resetting the ring
counts.

Other shutdown code paths will always disable PCI first to shutdown DMA
before freeing context memory. Do the same sequence in the error path
of probe to be safe and consistent.

The current code ignores the return value from
bnxt_hwrm_func_backing_store_cfg(), causing the driver to proceed in
the init path even when this vital firmware call has failed. Fix it
by propagating the error code to the caller.

The allocated ieee_ets structure goes out of scope without being freed,
leaking memory. Appropriate result codes should be returned so that
callers do not rely on invalid data passed by reference.
Also cache the ETS config retrieved from the device so that it doesn't
need to be freed. The balance of the code was clearly written with the
intent of having the results of querying the hardware cached in the
device structure. The commensurate store was evidently missed though.

There is an indexing bug in determining these ethtool priority
counters. Instead of using the queue ID to index, we need to
normalize by modulo 10 to get the index. This index is then used
to obtain the proper CoS queue counter. Rename bp->pri2cos to
bp->pri2cos_idx to make this more clear.

After bnxt_hwrm_do_send_message() was updated to return standard error
codes in a recent commit, a regression in bnxt_flash_package_from_file()
was introduced. The return value does not properly reflect all
possible firmware errors when calling firmware to flash the package.
Fix it by consolidating all errors in one local variable rc instead
of having 2 variables for different errors.

MTU changes may affect the number of IRQs so we must call
bnxt_close_nic()/bnxt_open_nic() with the irq_re_init parameter
set to true. The reason is that a larger MTU may require
aggregation rings not needed with smaller MTU. We may not be
able to allocate the required number of aggregation rings and
so we reduce the number of channels which will change the number
of IRQs. Without this patch, it may crash eventually in
pci_disable_msix() when the IRQs are not properly unwound.
