Tariq Toukan 7cc6d77bb5 net/mlx5e: Type-specific optimizations for RX post WQEs function
Separate the RX post WQEs function of the different RQ types.
This enables RQ type-specific optimizations in data-path.

Poll the ICOSQ completion queue only for Striding RQ,
and only when a UMR post completion could be possibly available.

Tariq Toukan a071cb9f25 net/mlx5e: Non-atomic RQ state indicator for UMR WQE in progress
The indication for a UMR WQE in progress is needed only within
the NAPI context, and hence no races possible and no need for
the use of atomic operations.
The only place the flag is read outside of NAPI context is
in closure flow, after RQ is disabled flag is no more accessed
in NAPI.
Use a boolean instead of a bit in ring state, so that its
non-atomic set operations do not race with the atomic sets of
the other bits.

Tariq Toukan a1eaba4c5c net/mlx5e: Non-atomic indicator for ring enabled state
Rings enabled state change occurs in control path only, and is always
followed by a napi_sychronize(), so that following NAPIs read the
new value. This read does not need to be atomic.

The RQ auto-moderation bit is not set/cleared in data-path.
No need for atomic read, a regular read operation is sufficient.
In RQ creation time as well, there's no multiple threads trying
to access it yet, hence a regular read can be used.

Tariq Toukan 4c2af5cc2b net/mlx5e: Small enhancements for RX MPWQE allocation and free
The dma offset of a MPWQE (Multi-Packet WQE) in memory region
is fixed for all rounds. Calculate it once on creation time,
instead of in runtime. This also obsoletes the wqe argument in
the function.

In addition, optimize dma_info iterator calculation.

Gal Pressman 7b3722fa9e net/mlx5e: Support RSS for GRE tunneled packets
Introduce a new flow table and indirect TIRs which are used to hash the
inner packet headers of GRE tunneled packets.

When a GRE tunneled packet is received, the TTC flow table will match
the new IPv4/6->GRE rules which will forward it to the inner TTC table.
The inner TTC is similar to its counterpart outer TTC table, but
matching the inner packet headers instead of the outer ones (and does
not include the new IPv4/6->GRE rules).
The new rules will not add steering hops since they are added to an
already existing flow group which will be matched regardless of this
patch. Non GRE traffic will not be affected.

The inner flow table will forward the packet to inner indirect TIRs
which hash the inner packet and thus result in RSS for the tunneled
packets.

Sagi Grimberg a435393aca mlx5: move affinity hints assignments to generic code
generic api takes care of spreading affinity similar to
what mlx5 open coded (and even handles better asymmetric
configurations). Ask the generic API to spread affinity
for us, and feed him pre_vectors that do not participate

had before).

The affinity assignments should match what mlx5 tried to

Also, remove mlx5e_get_cpu and introduce mlx5e_get_node

Tariq Toukan accd588332 net/mlx5e: Introduce RX Page-Reuse
Introduce a Page-Reuse mechanism in non-Striding RQ RX datapath.

A WQE (RX descriptor) buffer is a page, that in most cases was fully
wasted on a packet that is much smaller, requiring a new page for
the next round.

In this patch, we implement a page-reuse mechanism, that resembles a
`SW Striding RQ`.
We allow the WQE to reuse its allocated page as much as it could,
until the page is fully consumed. In each round, the WQE is capable
of receiving packet of maximal size (MTU). Yet, upon the reception of
a packet, the WQE knows the actual packet size, and consumes the exact
amount of memory needed to build a linear SKB. Then, it updates the
buffer pointer within the page accordingly, for the next round.

Feature is mutually exclusive with XDP (packet-per-page)
and LRO (session size is a power of two, needs unused page).

Performance tests:
iperf tcp tests show huge gain:

--------------------------------------------
num streams | BW before | BW after | ratio |
          1 | 22.2 | 30.9 | 1.39x |

Unlike ethtool stats, get_stats ndo provides information cached by
update stats work that is running in the background without updating

We cannot update all counters inside the ndo because some

update_stats work does not need to update ALL counters, since only
some of them are needed by ndo_get_stats.
This patch will allow for a minimal run of update_stats using an extra
parameter which will update necessary counters only and cut 13
firmware commands in each iteration of the work.

Martin KaFai Lau 1510d72863 net/mlx5e: Fix race in mlx5e_sw_stats and mlx5e_vport_stats
We have observed a sudden spike in rx/tx_packets and rx/tx_bytes
reported under /proc/net/dev. There is a race in mlx5e_update_stats()
and some of the get-stats functions (the one that we hit is the
mlx5e_get_stats() which is called by ndo_get_stats64()).

In particular, the very first thing mlx5e_update_sw_counters()
does is 'memset(s, 0, sizeof(*s))'.  For example, if mlx5e_get_stats()
is unlucky at one point, rx_bytes and rx_packets could be 0. One second
later, a normal (and much bigger than 0) value will be reported.

This patch is to use a 'struct mlx5e_sw_stats temp' to avoid
a direct memset zero on priv->stats.sw.

mlx5e_update_vport_counters() has a similar race. Hence, addressed
together. However, memset zero is removed instead because
it is not needed.

I am lucky enough to catch this 0-reset in rx multicast:

Tobias Regnery 053ee0a703 net/mlx5e: fix build error without CONFIG_SYSFS
Commit 9008ae0748 ("net/mlx5e: Minimize mlx5e_{open/close}_locked")
copied the calls to netif_set_real_num_{tx,rx}_queues from
mlx5e_open_locked to mlx5e_activate_priv_channels and wraps them in an
if condition to test for netdev->real_num_{tx,rx}_queues.

But netdev->real_num_rx_queues is conditionally compiled in if CONFIG_SYSFS
is set. Without CONFIG_SYSFS the build fails:

drivers/net/ethernet/mellanox/mlx5/core/en_main.c: In function 'mlx5e_activate_priv_channels':
drivers/net/ethernet/mellanox/mlx5/core/en_main.c:2515:12: error: 'struct net_device' has no member named 'real_num_rx_queues'; did you mean 'real_num_tx_queues'?

Fix this by unconditionally call netif_set_real_num{tx,rx}_queues like before
commit 9008ae0748.

This was added to allow the TC offloading code to identify offloading

The configurable priority to traffic class mapping and the user specified

This patch makes it so that we can pass the data the user provided to
ndo_setup_tc. This allows us to pull in the queue configuration if the
user requested it as well as any additional hardware offload type
requested by using a value other than 1 for the hw value.

Finally it also provides a means for the device driver to return the level
supported for the offload type via the qopt->hw value. Previously we were
just always assuming the value to be 1, in the future values beyond just 1
may be supported.

Daniel Jurgens f32f5bd2eb net/mlx5: Configure cache line size for start and end padding
There is a hardware feature that will pad the start or end of a DMA to
be cache line aligned to avoid RMWs on the last cache line. The default
cache line size setting for this feature is 64B. This change configures
the hardware to use 128B alignment on systems with 128B cache lines.

In addition we lower bound MPWRQ stride by HCA cacheline in mlx5e,
MPWRQ stride should be at least the HCA cacheline, the current default
is 64B and in case HCA_CAP.cach_line_128byte capability is set, MPWRQ RX

The following series of patches optimizes the usage of the UAR area which is
contained within the BAR 0-1. Previous versions of the firmware and the driver
assumed each system page contains a single UAR. This patch set will query the
firmware for a new capability that if published, means that the firmware can
support UARs of fixed 4K regardless of system page size. In the case of
powerpc, where page size equals 64KB, this means we can utilize 16 UARs per
system page. Since user space processes by default consume eight UARs per
context this means that with this change a process will need a single system
page to fulfill that requirement and in fact make use of more UARs which is
 better in terms of performance.

In addition to optimizing user-space processes, we introduce an allocator
that can be used by kernel consumers to allocate blue flame registers
(which are areas within a UAR that are used to write doorbells). This provides
further optimization on using the UAR area since the Ethernet driver makes
use of a single blue flame register per system page and now it will use two
 blue flame registers per 4K.

The series also makes changes to naming conventions and now the terms used in
the driver code match the terms used in the PRM (programmers reference manual).
Thus, what used to be called UUAR (micro UAR) is now called BFREG (blue flame
 register).

In order to support compatibility between different versions of
library/driver/firmware, the library has now means to notify the kernel driver
that it supports the new scheme and the kernel can notify the library if it
supports this extension. So mixed versions of libraries can run concurrently
 without any issues.

   b. When reading ETS setting from FW, if the traffic class bandwidth

implementation solves the scenarios when the DCBX is in FW control
and willing bit is on which means the ETS setting is dictated
      by remote switch.

Also check ETS capability where needed.

Or Gerlitz 370bad0f9a net/mlx5e: Support HW (offloaded) and SW counters for SRIOV switchdev mode
Switchdev driver net-device port statistics should follow the model introduced
in commit a5ea31f573 'Merge branch net-offloaded-stats'.

For VF reps we return the SRIOV eswitch vport stats as the usual ones and SW stats
if asked. For the PF, if we're in the switchdev mode, we return the uplink stats
and SW stats if asked, otherwise as before. The uplink stats are implemented using
the PPCNT 802_3 counters which are already being read/cached by the driver.

Daniel Borkmann a055c19be9 bpf, mlx5: drop priv->xdp_prog reference on netdev cleanup
mlx5e_xdp_set() is currently the only place where we drop reference on the
prog sitting in priv->xdp_prog when it's exchanged by a new one. We also
need to make sure that we eventually release that reference, for example,
in case the netdev is dismantled, otherwise we leak the program.

Daniel Borkmann c54c062904 bpf, mlx5: fix various refcount issues in mlx5e_xdp_set
There are multiple issues in mlx5e_xdp_set():

1) The batched bpf_prog_add() is currently not checked for errors. When
doing so, it should be done at an earlier point in time to makes sure
that we cannot fail anymore at the time we want to set the program for
each channel. The batched refs short-cut can only be performed when we
don't need to perform a reset for changing the rq type and the device
was in opened state. In case the device was not in opened state, then
the next mlx5e_open_locked() will aquire the refs from the control prog
via mlx5e_create_rq(), same when we need to perform a reset.

2) When swapping the priv->xdp_prog, then no extra reference count must be
taken since we got that from call path via dev_change_xdp_fd() already.
Otherwise, we'd never be able to release the program. Also, bpf_prog_add()
without checking the return code could fail.

Daniel Borkmann 97bc402db7 bpf, mlx5: fix mlx5e_create_rq taking reference on prog
In mlx5e_create_rq(), when creating a new queue, we call bpf_prog_add() but
without checking the return value. bpf_prog_add() can fail since 92117d8443
("bpf: fix refcnt overflow"), so we really must check it. Take the reference
right when we assign it to the rq from priv->xdp_prog, and just drop the
reference on error path. Destruction in mlx5e_destroy_rq() looks good, though.

Mellanox mlx5 core driver updates 2016-10-25

This series contains some updates and fixes of mlx5 core and
IB drivers with the addition of two features that demand
new low level commands and infrastructure updates.
 - SRIOV VF max rate limit support
 - mlx5e tc support for FWD rules with counter.

Needed for both net and rdma subsystems.

Updates and Fixes:
From Saeed Mahameed (2):
  - mlx5 IB: Skip handling unknown mlx5 events
  - Add ConnectX-5 PCIe 4.0 VF device ID

From Artemy Kovalyov (2):
  - Update struct mlx5_ifc_xrqc_bits
  - Ensure SRQ physical address structure endianness

From Eugenia Emantayev (1):
  - Fix length of async_event_mask

New Features:
From Mohamad Haj Yahia (3): mlx5 SRIOV VF max rate limit support
  - Introduce TSAR manipulation firmware commands
  - Introduce E-switch QoS management
  - Add SRIOV VF max rate configuration support

From Mark Bloch (7): mlx5e Tc support for FWD rule with counter
  - Don't unlock fte while still using it
  - Use fte status to decide on firmware command
  - Refactor find_flow_rule
  - Group similar rules under the same fte
  - Add multi dest support
  - Add option to add fwd rule with counter
  - mlx5e tc support for FWD rule with counter
Mark here fixed two trivial issues with the flow steering core, and did
some refactoring in the flow steering API to support adding mulit destination
rules to the same hardware flow table entry at once. In the last two patches
added the ability to populate a flow rule with a flow counter to the same flow entry.

V2: Dropped some patches that added new structures without adding any usage of them.
Added SRIOV VF max rate configuration support patch that introduces
the usage of the TSAR infrastructure.
Added flow steering fixes and refactoring in addition to mlx5 tc
support for forward rule with counter.
