From 435793dfb8aec7b2e19f72d5bce8a22fd0b57839 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Keith Packard Date: Tue, 12 Jul 2011 14:56:22 -0700 Subject: [PATCH 1/2] drm/i915: Add quirk to disable SSC on Lenovo U160 LVDS We've tried several times to make this machine 'just work', but every patch that does causes many other machines to fail. This adds a quirk which special cases this hardware and forces ssc to be disabled. There's no way to override this from the command line; that would be a significantly more invasive change. The docs suggest that it should be possible to align only to a power-of-two tile height, but using the already computed fence size is easier and always correct. We also have to make sure that we unbind misaligned buffers upon tiling changes. In order to prevent a repetition of this bug, we change the interface to the alignment computation routines to force the caller to provide the requested alignment and size of the GTT binding rather than assume the current values on the object.
