for_each_compatible_node performs an of_node_get on each iteration, so a return from the loop requires an of_node_put. The semantic patch that fixes this problem is as follows (http://coccinelle.lip6.fr): // <smpl> @@ local idexpression n; expression e,e1,e2; statement S; iterator i1; iterator name for_each_compatible_node; @@ for_each_compatible_node(n,e1,e2) { ... S | + of_node_put(n); ? return ...; ) ... } // </smpl> Additionally, call of_node_put on the previous value of np, obtained from of_find_compatible_node, that is no longer accessible at the point of the for_each_compatible_node. Linux kernel ============ This file was moved to Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst Please notice that there are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
