Currently, in suspend() and resume(), ishtp client drivers are using
driver_data to get "struct ishtp_cl_device" object which is set by
bus driver. It's wrong since the driver_data should not be owned bus.
driver_data should be owned by the corresponding ishtp client driver.
Due to this, some ishtp client driver like cros_ec_ishtp which uses
its driver_data to transfer its data to its child doesn't work correctly.
So this patch removes setting driver_data in bus drier and instead of
using driver_data to get "struct ishtp_cl_device", since "struct device"
is embedded in "struct ishtp_cl_device", we introduce a helper function
that returns "struct ishtp_cl_device" from "struct device".

ISH clients don't need to access any field of struct ishtp_cl_device. To
avoid this create an interface functions instead where it is required.
In the case of ishtp_cl_allocate(), modify the parameters so that the
clients don't have to dereference.
Clients can also use tracing, here a new interface is added to get the
common trace function pointer, instead of direct call.
The new interface functions defined in one external header file, named
intel-ish-client-if.h. This is the only header files all ISHTP clients
must include.

Currently we depend on the guid check in ishtp_cl_driver.probe to match
the device and driver. However Linux device core first calls the match()
callback to decide the matching of driver and device, and then does some
preparation before calling the driver probe function. If we return error
in the driver probe, it needs to tear down all the preparation work and
retry with next driver.
Adding the match callback can avoid the unnecessary entry into unmatched
driver probe function for ishtp clients reported by FW.

Instead of using an 128-byte on-stack array to store the request, we can
instantiate the request on stack directly. This can save the stack usage of
these functions, since most of the requests are much smaller than 128 bytes.

Currently we are using one additional static variable and a spinlock to
prevent contention of writing IPC messages to ISH hardware, which is
not necessary. Once ISH is ready to accept new data, we can push new
data to hardware. This pushing of new data is already protected by
wr_processing_spinlock for contention, which is enough. So use this
spinlock to check both readiness for accepting new data and once ready
allow writing of ipc message from queue to ISH hardware.
While here, cleaned up some space after return.

When performing a warm reset in ishtp bus driver, the ishtp_cl_device
will not be removed, its fw_client still points to the already freed
ishtp_device.fw_clients array.
Later after driver finishing ishtp client enumeration, this dangling
pointer may cause driver to bind the wrong ishtp_cl_device to the new
client, causing wrong callback to be called for messages intended for
the new client.
This helps in development of firmware where frequent switching of
firmwares is required without Linux reboot.

Currently wr_msg_ctl_info is used in ishtp_device just for list head
purpose, using list_head directly can save ~150 bytes size for
each replacement.
Also this patch can save ~170 bytes of code size in intel-ish-ipc.ko.

The dev_attrs field has long been "depreciated" and is finally being

The internal accounting uses 'timespec' based time stamps, which is
slightly inefficient and also problematic once we get to the time_t
overflow in 2038.
When communicating to the firmware, we even get an open-coded 64-bit
division that prevents the code from being build-tested on 32-bit
architectures and is inefficient due to the double conversion from
64-bit nanoseconds to seconds+nanoseconds and then microseconds.
This changes the code to use ktime_t instead.

I was trying to understand this code while working on a warning
fix and the locking made no sense: spin_lock_irqsave() is pointless
when run inside of an interrupt handler or nested inside of another
spin_lock_irq() or spin_lock_irqsave().
Here it turned out that the comment above the function is wrong,
as both recv_ishtp_cl_msg_dma() and recv_ishtp_cl_msg() can in fact
be called from a work queue rather than an ISR, so we do have to
use the irqsave() version once.
This fixes the comments accordingly, removes the misleading 'dev_flags'
variable and modifies the inner spinlock to not use 'irqsave'.
No functional change is intended, this is just for readability and
it slightly simplifies the object code.

gcc points out an uninialized pointer dereference that could happen
if we ever get to recv_ishtp_cl_msg_dma() or recv_ishtp_cl_msg()
with an empty &dev->read_list:

The warning only appeared in very few randconfig builds, as the
spinlocks tend to prevent gcc from tracing the variables. I only
saw it in configurations that had neither SMP nor LOCKDEP enabled.
As we can see, we only enter the case if 'complete_rb' is non-NULL,
and then 'cl' is known to point to complete_rb->cl. Adding another
initialization to the same pointer is harmless here and makes it
clear to the compiler that the behavior is well-defined.

Structure ishtp_device contains a logging function, print_log(), which
formats some of its parameters using vsnprintf(). Add a __printf
attribute to this function field (and to ish_event_tracer()) in order to
detect at compile time issues related to the printf-like formatting.
While at it, make format parameter a const pointer as print_log() is not
supposed to modify it.

Although unlikely but it is possible that when a connect or disconnect
request is issued to the firmware, before the response comes, user
terminates the client session. In this case when the response is arrived
there is no matching client instance in the list of currently active
clients. In this case, don't issue call to wake up a waiting client.

The ISH transport layer (ishtp) is a bi-directional protocol implemented
on the top of PCI based inter processor communication layer. This layer
offers:
- Connection management
- Flow control with the firmware
- Multiple client sessions
- Client message transfer
- Client message reception
- DMA for RX and TX for fast data transfer

overview of the functionality implemented in this layer.
