Merge tag 'v5.4.67' into 5.4-2.2.x-imx

This is the 5.4.67 stable release

This updates the kernel present in the NXP release imx_5.4.47_2.2.0 to the
latest patchset available from stable korg.

Base stable kernel version present in the NXP BSP release is v5.4.47.

Following conflicts were recorded and resolved:
- arch/arm/mach-imx/pm-imx6.c
NXP version has a different PM vectoring scheme, where the IRAM bottom
half (8k) is used to store IRAM code and pm_info. Keep this version to
be compatible with NXP PM implementation.

- arch/arm64/boot/dts/freescale/imx8mm-evk.dts
- arch/arm64/boot/dts/freescale/imx8mn-ddr4-evk.dts
NXP patches kept to provide proper LDO setup:
imx8mm-evk.dts: 975d8ab07267ded741c4c5d7500e524c85ab40d3
imx8mn-ddr4-evk.dts: e8e35fd0e759965809f3dca5979a908a09286198

- drivers/crypto/caam/caamalg.c
Keep NXP version, as it already covers the functionality for the
upstream patch [d6bbd4eea2]

- drivers/gpu/drm/imx/dw_hdmi-imx.c
- drivers/gpu/drm/imx/imx-ldb.c
- drivers/gpu/drm/imx/ipuv3/ipuv3-crtc.c
Port changes from upstream commit [1a27987101], which extends
component lifetime by moving drm structures allocation/free from
bind() to probe().

- drivers/gpu/drm/imx/imx-ldb.c
Merge patch [1752ab50e8] from upstream to disable both LVDS channels
when Enoder is disabled

- drivers/mmc/host/sdhci-esdhc-imx.c
Fix merge fuzz produced by [6534c897fd].

- drivers/net/ethernet/freescale/dpaa2/dpaa2-eth.c
Commit d1a00c9bb1 from upstream solves the issue with improper error
reporting when qdisc type support is absent. Upstream version is merged
into NXP implementation.

- drivers/net/ethernet/freescale/enetc/enetc.c
Commit [ce06fcb6a6] from upstream merged,
base NXP version kept

- drivers/net/ethernet/freescale/enetc/enetc_pf.c
Commit [e8b86b4d87] from upstream solves
the kernel panic in case if probing fails. NXP has a clean-up logic
implemented different, where the MDIO remove would be invoked in any
failure case. Keep the NXP logic in place.

- drivers/thermal/imx_thermal.c
Upstream patch [9025a5589c] adds missing
of_node_put call, NXP version has been adapted to accommodate this patch
into the code.

- drivers/usb/cdns3/ep0.c
Manual merge of commit [be8df02707] from
upstream to protect cdns3_check_new_setup

- drivers/xen/swiotlb-xen.c
Port upstream commit cca58a1669 to NXP tree, manual hunk was
resolved during merge.

- sound/soc/fsl/fsl_esai.c
Commit [53057bd4ac] upstream addresses the problem of endless isr in
case if exception interrupt is enabled and tasklet is scheduled. Since
NXP implementation has tasklet removed with commit [2bbe95fe6c],
upstream fix does not match the main implementation, hence we keep the
NXP version here.

- sound/soc/fsl/fsl_sai.c
Apply patch [b8ae2bf5cc] from upstream, which uses FIFO watermark
mask macro.

Florian Fainelli 9baf076d79 net: phy: Check harder for errors in get_phy_id()
[ Upstream commit b2ffc75e2e ]

Commit 02a6efcab6 ("net: phy: allow scanning busses with missing
phys") added a special condition to return -ENODEV in case -ENODEV or
-EIO was returned from the first read of the MII_PHYSID1 register.

In case the MDIO bus data line pull-up is not strong enough, the MDIO
bus controller will not flag this as a read error. This can happen when
a pluggable daughter card is not connected and weak internal pull-ups
are used (since that is the only option, otherwise the pins are
floating).

The second read of MII_PHYSID2 will be correctly flagged an error
though, but now we will return -EIO which will be treated as a hard
error, thus preventing MDIO bus scanning loops to continue succesfully.

Apply the same logic to both register reads, thus allowing the scanning
logic to proceed.

Julia Lawall 429a896256 dp83640: reverse arguments to list_add_tail

In this code, it appears that phyter_clocks is a list head, based on
the previous list_for_each, and that clock->list is intended to be a
list element, given that it has just been initialized in
dp83640_clock_init. Accordingly, switch the arguments to

Oleksij Rempel 1189ba9eed net: phy: micrel: kszphy_resume(): add delay after genphy_resume() before accessing PHY registers
[ Upstream commit 6110dff776 ]

After the power-down bit is cleared, the chip internally triggers a
global reset. According to the KSZ9031 documentation, we have to wait at
least 1ms for the reset to finish.

If the chip is accessed during reset, read will return 0xffff, while
write will be ignored. Depending on the system performance and MDIO bus
speed, we may or may not run in to this issue.

This bug was discovered on an iMX6QP system with KSZ9031 PHY and
attached PHY interrupt line. If IRQ was used, the link status update was
lost. In polling mode, the link status update was always correct.

The investigation showed, that during a read-modify-write access, the
read returned 0xffff (while the chip was still in reset) and
corresponding write hit the chip _after_ reset and triggered (due to the
0xffff) another reset in an undocumented bit (register 0x1f, bit 1),
resulting in the next write being lost due to the new reset cycle.

This patch fixes the issue by adding a 1...2 ms sleep after the
genphy_resume().

Florian Fainelli 6b22fba4c1 net: phy: Avoid multiple suspends
commit 503ba7c696 upstream.

It is currently possible for a PHY device to be suspended as part of a
network device driver's suspend call while it is still being attached to
that net_device, either via phy_suspend() or implicitly via phy_stop().

Later on, when the MDIO bus controller get suspended, we would attempt
to suspend again the PHY because it is still attached to a network
device.

This is both a waste of time and creates an opportunity for improper

Alex Marginean 6469b97591 net: phy: vsc8514: enable in-band SGMII auto-negotiation setting
The default in-band AN setting for the VSC8514 PHY is not very reliable:
its out-of-reset state is with SerDes AN disabled, but certain boot
firmware (such as U-Boot) enables it during the boot process.

So its final state as seen by Linux depends on whether the U-Boot PHY
driver has run or not.

If SGMII auto-negotiation is enabled but not acknowledged by the MAC,
the PHY does not pass traffic.

But otherwise, it is able to pass traffic both with AN disabled, and
with AN enabled.

We would like to make this explicitly configurable rather than hardcoded
as "on" as we are doing right now, but we'd rather hardcode it in LSDK
and wait until a solution lands upstream, than invent a solution for
this here.

Instead of introducing a new phylink_start_poll() function, which would
make the implementation cumbersome for common PHYLINK implementations
for multiple types of devices, like DSA, just add a boolean property to
the phylink_config structure, which is just as backwards-compatible.

Vladimir Oltean fd7c7eb42f net: phylink: make QSGMII a valid PHY mode for in-band AN
QSGMII is a SerDes protocol clocked at 5 Gbaud (4 times higher than
SGMII which is clocked at 1.25 Gbaud), with the same 8b/10b encoding and
some extra symbols for synchronization. Logically it offers 4 SGMII
interfaces multiplexed onto the same physical lanes. Each MAC PCS has
its own in-band AN process with the system side of the QSGMII PHY, which
is identical to the regular SGMII AN process.

So allow QSGMII as a valid in-band AN mode, since it is no different
from software perspective from regular SGMII.

Martin Blumenstingl a739564c4c net: phy: realtek: add logging for the RGMII TX delay configuration
[ Upstream commit 3aec743d69 ]

RGMII requires a delay of 2ns between the data and the clock signal.
There are at least three ways this can happen. One possibility is by
having the PHY generate this delay.
This is a common source for problems (for example with slow TX speeds or
packet loss when sending data). The TX delay configuration of the
RTL8211F PHY can be set either by pin-strappping the RXD1 pin (HIGH
means enabled, LOW means disabled) or through configuring a paged
register. The setting from the RXD1 pin is also reflected in the
register.

Add debug logging to the TX delay configuration on RTL8211F so it's
easier to spot these issues (for example if the TX delay is enabled for
both, the RTL8211F PHY and the MAC).
This is especially helpful because there is no public datasheet for the
RTL8211F PHY available with all the RX/TX delay specifics.

commit fea7fda7f5 upstream.

Commit 0fc9ae1076 ("net: phy: broadcom: add support for

the RXC to RXD skew and the TXD to TXC skew, thus only making
PHY_INTERFACE_MODE_RGMII a possible configuration. Use
bcm54xx_config_clock_delay() which correctly sets the registers
depending on the 4 possible PHY interface values that exist for RGMII.

When a phydev is created, the speed and duplex are set to zero and

There is a window at initialisation time where we may report link
