Timur Tabi a9ee6bd44c pinctrl: qcom: qdf2xxx: add names to the gpios
The sysfs and debugfs entries for pin control drivers work better when
the individual pins are given real names, even if they are all just
"gpio0", "gpio1", etc.

Icenowy Zheng 9396f44153 pinctrl: sunxi: select GPIOLIB
Allwinner pin controllers are also GPIO controllers.

Currently, if GPIOLIB is forgot to be chosen, the build of
pinctrl-sunxi.c will fail for lacking a lot of gpiochip_* functions.

Select GPIOLIB to ensure this driver can be built.

Rick Altherr c825676b08 pinctrl: aspeed: Allow disabling Port D and Port E loopback mode
Port D and port E GPIO loopback modes are commonly enabled via hardware
straps for use with front-panel buttons.  When the BMC is powered
off or fails to boot, the front-panel buttons are directly connected to
the host chipset via the loopback to allow direct power-on and reset
control. Once the BMC has booted, the loopback mode must be disabled for
the BMC to take over control of host power-on and reset.

Disabling these loopback modes requires writing to the hardware strap
register which violates the current design of assuming the system
designer chose the strap settings for a specific reason and they should
be treated as read-only. Only the two bits of the strap register related
to these loopback modes are allowed to be written and comments have been
added to explain why.

Timur Tabi 8e51533780 pinctrl: qcom: add get_direction function
The get_direction callback function allows gpiolib to know the current
direction (input vs output) for a given GPIO.

This is particularly useful on ACPI systems, where the GPIOs are
configured only by firmware (typically UEFI), so the only way to
know the initial values to query the hardware directly.  Without
this function, gpiolib thinks that all GPIOs are configured for
input.

   encode more information about a certain setting than we need

None of the Kconfigs for any of these drivers are tristate,
meaning that they currently are not being built as a module by anyone.

Lets remove the modular code that is essentially orphaned, so that
when reading the driver there is no doubt it is builtin-only.

Since module_platform_driver() uses the same init level priority as
builtin_platform_driver() the init ordering remains unchanged with
this commit.

Also note that MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE is a no-op for non-modular code.

We also delete the MODULE_LICENSE tag etc. since all that information
is already contained at the top of the file in the comments.

None of the Kconfigs for any of these drivers are tristate,
meaning that they currently are not being built as a module by anyone.

Lets remove the modular code that is essentially orphaned, so that
when reading the drivers there is no doubt they are builtin-only.  All
drivers get the exact same change, so they are handled in batch.

Changes are (1) use init.h header in place of module.h header,
(2) delete module_exit related code, (3) delete MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE,
and (4) delete MODULE_LICENCE/MODULE_AUTHOR and associated tags.

None of these drivers were using module_init() so we don't have to
worry about the init ordering getting changed with this commit.

Also note that MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE is a no-op for non-modular code.

We also delete the MODULE_LICENSE etc. tags since all that information
is already contained at the top of each file in the comments.

crept in.

The Kconfig currently controlling compilation of this code is:

   drivers/pinctrl/sunxi/Kconfig:config PINCTRL_SUN5I
   drivers/pinctrl/sunxi/Kconfig:  def_bool MACH_SUN5I

...meaning that it currently is not being built as a module by anyone.

Lets remove the couple traces of modular infrastructure use, so that
when reading the driver there is no doubt it is builtin-only.

Since module_platform_driver() uses the same init level priority as
builtin_platform_driver() the init ordering remains unchanged with
this commit.

Also note that MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE is a no-op for non-modular code.

Chen-Yu Tsai 4924982e30 pinctrl: sunxi: Support A31/A31s with pinctrl variants
The A31s is a trimmed down version of the A31. Some hardware blocks
are removed, thus not available for muxing on the external pins.
Some external pins were directly removed.

This makes it easy to support the A31s pin controller with the A31
driver. We just mark the pins and functions that were trimmed as
A31 only.

Debounce value is set globally per community. Otherwise user will easily
get a kernel crash when they start using the feature:

Make it clear in byt_gpio_reg().

Note that this fix just prevents kernel to crash, but doesn't make any
difference to the existing logic. It means the last caller will win the
trade and debounce value will be configured accordingly. The actual
logic fix needs to be thought about and it's not as important as crash
fix. That's why the latter goes separately and right now.

Mika Westerberg e57725eabf pinctrl: intel: Add support for hardware debouncer
The next generation Intel GPIO hardware has two additional registers
PADCFG2 and PADCFG3. The latter is marked as reserved but the former
includes configuration for per-pad hardware debouncer.

This patch adds support for that in the Intel pinctrl core driver. Since
these are additional features on top of the current generation hardware,
we use revision number and feature flags to enable this if detected.

Maxime Ripard 2154d94b40 pinctrl: sunxi: Don't enforce bias disable (for now)
Commit 07fe64ba21 ("pinctrl: sunxi: Handle bias disable") actually
enforced enforced the disabling of the pull up/down resistors instead of
ignoring it like it was done before.

This was part of a wider rework to switch to the generic pinconf bindings,
and was meant to be merged together with DT patches that were switching to
it, and removing what was considered default values by both the binding and
the boards. This included no bias on a pin.

However, those DT patches were delayed to 4.11, which would be fine only
for a significant number boards having the bias setup wrong, which in turns
break the MMC on those boards (and possibly other devices too).

In order to avoid conflicts as much as possible, bring back the old
behaviour for 4.10, and we'll revert that commit once all the DT bits will
have landed.

conditionals. Doing so actually leaves the symbols present (but

Currently we already have two pin configuration related callbacks
available for GPIO chips .set_single_ended() and .set_debounce(). In
future we expect to have even more, which does not scale well if we need
to add yet another callback to the GPIO chip structure for each possible
configuration parameter.

Better solution is to reuse what we already have available in the
generic pinconf.

To support this, we introduce a new .set_config() callback for GPIO
chips. The callback takes a single packed pin configuration value as
parameter. This can then be extended easily beyond what is currently
supported by just adding new types to the generic pinconf enum.

If the GPIO driver is backed up by a pinctrl driver the GPIO driver can
just assign gpiochip_generic_config() (introduced in this patch) to
.set_config and that will take care configuration requests are directed
to the pinctrl driver.

We then convert the existing drivers over .set_config() and finally
remove the .set_single_ended() and .set_debounce() callbacks.

To support this we introduce a new function pinctrl_gpio_set_config()
that can be used by gpiolib based driver to pass configuration requests
to the backing pinctrl driver.

Mika Westerberg 58957d2edf pinctrl: Widen the generic pinconf argument from 16 to 24 bits
The current pinconf packed format allows only 16-bit argument limiting
the maximum value 65535. For most types this is enough. However,
debounce time can be in range of hundreths of milliseconds in case of
mechanical switches so we cannot represent the worst case using the
current format.

In order to support larger values change the packed format so that the
lower 8 bits are used as type which leaves 24 bits for the argument.
This allows representing values up to 16777215 and debounce times up to
16 seconds.

We also convert the existing users to use 32-bit integer when extracting
argument from the packed configuration value.

Andrew Jeffery 8ccb6dc6e9 pinctrl: aspeed: g4: Fix mux configuration for GPIOs AA[4-7], AB[0-7]
Incorrect video output configuration bits were being tested on pins in
GPIO banks AA and AB for the ROM{8,16} mux functions. The ROM{8,16}
functions are the highest priority for the relevant pins and also the
default function, so we require the relevant video output configuration
be disabled to mux GPIO functionality. As the wrong bits were being
tested a GPIO export would succeed but leave the pin in an unresponsive
state (i.e. value updates were ignored).

This misbehaviour was discovered as part of extending the GPIO
controller's support to cover banks Y, Z, AA, AB and AC (AC in the case
of the g5 SoC).

Julia Cartwright 47b03ca903 pinctrl: qcom: Use raw spinlock variants
The MSM pinctrl driver currently implements an irq_chip for handling
GPIO interrupts; due to how irq_chip handling is done, it's necessary
for the irq_chip methods to be invoked from hardirq context, even on a
a real-time kernel.  Because the spinlock_t type becomes a "sleeping"
spinlock w/ RT kernels, it is not suitable to be used with irq_chips.

A quick audit of the operations under the lock reveal that they do only
minimal, bounded work, and are therefore safe to do under a raw
spinlock.

On real-time kernels, this fixes an OOPs which looks like the following,
as reported by Brian Wrenn:

Martin Blumenstingl b27e36482c pinctrl: meson: fix uart_ao_b for GXBB and GXL/GXM
The GXBB and GXL/GXM pinctrl drivers had a configuration which conflicts
with uart_ao_a. According to the GXBB ("S905") datasheet the AO UART
functions are:
- GPIOAO_0: Func1 = UART_TX_AO_A (bit 12), Func2 = UART_TX_AO_B (bit 26)
- GPIOAO_1: Func1 = UART_RX_AO_A (bit 11), Func2 = UART_RX_AO_B (bit 25)
- GPIOAO_4: Func2 = UART_TX_AO_B (bit 24)
- GPIOAO_5: Func2 = UART_RX_AO_B (bit 25)

The existing definition for uart_AO_A already uses GPIOAO_0 and GPIOAO_1.
The old definition of uart_AO_B however was broken, as it used GPIOAO_0
for TX (which would be fine) and two pins (GPIOAO_1 and GPIOAO_5) for RX
(which does not make any sense).

This fixes the uart_AO_B configuration by moving it to GPIOAO_4 and
GPIOAO_5 (it would be possible to use GPIOAO_0 and GPIOAO_1 in theory,
but all existing hardware uses uart_AO_A there).
The fix for GXBB and GXL/GXM is identical since it seems that these
specific pins are identical on both SoC variants.

Thierry Reding 46daed6ebd pinctrl: Initialize pinctrl_dev.node
The struct pinctrl_dev's node field is not properly set up, which means
the .prev and .next fields will be NULL. That's not something that the
linked list code can deal with, so extra care must be taken when using
these fields. An example of this is introduced in commit 3429fb3cda
("pinctrl: Fix panic when pinctrl devices with hogs are unregistered")
where list_del() is made conditional on the pinctrl device being part
of the pinctrl device list. This is to ensure that list_del() won't
crash upon encountering a NULL pointer in .prev and/or .next.

After initializing the list head there's no need to jump through these
extra hoops and list_del() will work unconditionally. This is because
the initialized list head points to itself and therefore the .prev and
.next fields can be properly dereferenced.

Tony Lindgren 950b0d91dc pinctrl: core: Fix regression caused by delayed work for hogs
Commit df61b366af26 ("pinctrl: core: Use delayed work for hogs") caused a
regression at least with sh-pfc that is also a GPIO controller as
noted by Geert Uytterhoeven <geert@linux-m68k.org>.

As the original pinctrl_register() has issues calling pin controller
driver functions early before the controller has finished registering,
we can't just revert commit df61b366af26. That would break the drivers
using GENERIC_PINCTRL_GROUPS or GENERIC_PINMUX_FUNCTIONS.

So let's fix the issue with the following steps as a single patch:

1. Revert the late_init parts of commit df61b366af26.

   The late_init clearly won't work and we have to just give up
   on fixing pinctrl_register() for GENERIC_PINCTRL_GROUPS and
   GENERIC_PINMUX_FUNCTIONS.

2. Split pinctrl_register() into two parts

   By splitting pinctrl_register() into pinctrl_init_controller()
   and pinctrl_create_and_start() we have better control over when
   it's safe to call pinctrl_create().

3. Introduce a new pinctrl_register_and_init() function

   As suggested by Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>, we
   can just introduce a new function for the controllers that need
   pinctrl_create() called later.

4. Convert the four known problem cases to use new function

   Let's convert pinctrl-imx, pinctrl-single, sh-pfc and ti-iodelay
   to use the new function to fix the issues. The rest of the drivers
   can be converted later. Let's also update Documentation/pinctrl.txt
   accordingly because of the known issues with pinctrl_register().

Andy Shevchenko 49c0309626 pinctrl: baytrail: Do not add all GPIOs to IRQ domain
When DIRECT_IRQ_EN is set, the pin is routed directly to the IO-APIC bypassing
the GPIO driver completely. However, the mask register is still used to
determine if the pin is supposed to generate IRQ or not.

So with commit 3ae02c14d9 the IRQ core masks all IRQs (because of
handle_bad_irq()) the pin connected to the touchscreen gets masked as well and
hence no interrupts.

To make this all work as expected we do not add those GPIOs to the IRQ domain
that can actually propagate interrupts.

implements debounce for Baytrail pin control, but seems wasn't tested properly.

The register which keeps debounce value is separated from the configuration
one. Writing wrong values to the latter will guarantee wrong behaviour of the
driver and even might break something physically.

Besides above there is missed case how to disable it, which is actually done
through the bit in configuration register.

Rectify implementation here by using proper register for debounce value.

Nishanth Menon 003910ebc8 pinctrl: Introduce TI IOdelay configuration driver
SoC family such as DRA7 family of processors have, in addition
to the regular muxing of pins (as done by pinctrl-single), a separate
hardware module called IODelay which is also expected to be configured.
The "IODelay" module has it's own register space that is independent
of the control module and the padconf register area.

With recent changes to the pinctrl framework, we can now support
this hardware with a reasonably minimal driver by using #pinctrl-cells,
GENERIC_PINCTRL_GROUPS and GENERIC_PINMUX_FUNCTIONS.

It is advocated strongly in TI's official documentation considering
the existing design of the DRA7 family of processors during mux or
IODelay reconfiguration, there is a potential for a significant glitch
which may cause functional impairment to certain hardware. It is
hence recommended to do as little of muxing as absolutely necessary
without I/O isolation (which can only be done in initial stages of
bootloader).

NOTE: with the system wide I/O isolation scheme present in DRA7 SoC
family, it is not reasonable to do stop all I/O operations for every
such pad configuration scheme. So, we will let it glitch when used in
this mode.

Even with the above limitation, certain functionality such as MMC has
mandatory need for IODelay reconfiguration requirements, depending on
speed of transfer. In these cases, with careful examination of usecase
involved, the expected glitch can be controlled such that it does not
impact functionality.

In short, IODelay module support as a padconf driver being introduced
here is not expected to do SoC wide I/O Isolation and is meant for
a limited subset of IODelay configuration requirements that need to
be dynamic and whose glitchy behavior will not cause functionality
failure for that interface.

IMPORTANT NOTE: we take the approach of keeping LOCK_BITs cleared
to 0x0 at all times, even when configuring Manual IO Timing Modes.
This is done by eliminating the LOCK_BIT=1 setting from Step
of the Manual IO timing Mode configuration procedure. This option
leaves the CFG_* registers unprotected from unintended writes to the
CTRL_CORE_PAD_* registers while Manual IO Timing Modes are configured.

This approach is taken to allow for a generic driver to exist in kernel
world that has to be used carefully in required usecases.

Some SoCs are either supposed to be pin compatible (A10 and A20 for
example), or are just repackaged versions of the same die (A10s, A13, GR8).

In those case, having a full blown pinctrl driver just introduces
duplication in both data size and maintainance effort.

Add a variant option to both pins and functions to be able to limit the
pins and functions described only to a subset of the SoC we support with a
given driver.

Jon Hunter 3429fb3cda pinctrl: Fix panic when pinctrl devices with hogs are unregistered
Commit df61b366af26 ('pinctrl: core: Use delayed work for hogs')
deferred part of the registration for pinctrl devices if the pinctrl
device has hogs. This introduced a window where if the pinctrl device
with hogs was sucessfully registered, but then unregistered again
(which could be caused by parent device being probe deferred) before
the delayed work has chanced to run, then this will cause a kernel
panic to occur because:

1. The 'pctldev->p' has not yet been initialised and when unregistering
   the pinctrl device we only check to see if it is an error value, but
   now it could also be NULL.
2. The pinctrl device may not have been added to the 'pinctrldev_list'
   list and we don't check to see if it was added before removing.

Fix up the above by checking to see if the 'pctldev->p' pointer is an
error value or NULL before putting the pinctrl device and verifying
that the pinctrl device is present in 'pinctrldev_list' before removing.

Tony Lindgren 99e4f67508 pinctrl: core: Use delayed work for hogs
Having the pin control framework call pin controller functions
before it's probe has finished is not nice as the pin controller
device driver does not yet have struct pinctrl_dev handle.

Let's fix this issue by adding deferred work for late init. This is
needed to be able to add pinctrl generic helper functions that expect
to know struct pinctrl_dev handle. Note that we now need to call
create_pinctrl() directly as we don't want to add the pin controller
to the list of controllers until the hogs are claimed. We also need
to pass the pinctrl_dev to the device tree parser functions as they
otherwise won't find the right controller at this point.

Andrew Jeffery 7d29ed88ac pinctrl: aspeed: Read and write bits in LPC and GFX controllers
The System Control Unit IP block in the Aspeed SoCs is typically where
the pinmux configuration is found, but not always. A number of pins
depend on state in one of LPC Host Control (LHC) or SoC Display
Controller (GFX) IP blocks, so the Aspeed pinmux drivers should have the
means to adjust these as necessary.

We use syscon to cast a regmap over the GFX and LPC blocks, which is
used as an arbitration layer between the relevant driver and the pinctrl
subsystem. The regmaps are then exposed to the SoC-specific pinctrl
drivers by phandles in the devicetree, and are selected during a mux
request by querying a new 'ip' member in struct aspeed_sig_desc.

Peter Rosin 283dc0be75 pinctrl: sx150x: handle missing 'advanced' reg in sx1504 and sx1505
This fixes a problem where sx150x_regmap_reg_width() returns 8 for the
data register (reg 0) for sx1504 where it should return 4, and return
a correct 8 for sx1505 but for the wrong reason (both chips lack the
'advanced' register). This is not a real problem, since nothing depends
on the function returning 4 or 8, and certainly not if it is returning
8 for the wrong reason. But fix this to avoid nasty surprises down the
line.

The code assumes 8-bit or 16-bit width registers, but three of the

Linus Walleij 85ae9e512f pinctrl: bcm2835: switch to GPIOLIB_IRQCHIP
It should be possible to use the GPIOLIB_IRQCHIP helper
library with the BCM2835 driver since it is a pretty straight
forward cascaded irqchip.

The only difference from other drivers is that the BCM2835
has several banks for a single gpiochip, and each bank has
a separate IRQ line. Instead of creating one gpiochip per
bank, a single gpiochip covers all banks GPIO lines. This
makes it necessary to resolve the bank ID in the IRQ
handler.

The GPIOLIB_IRQCHIP allows several IRQs to be cascaded off
the same gpiochip by calling gpiochip_set_chained_irqchip()
repeatedly, but we have been a bit short on examples
for how this should be handled in practice, so this is intended
as an example of how this can be achieved.

The old code did not model the chip as a chained interrupt
handler, but this patch also rectifies that situation.

Peter Rosin 1663682cf0 pinctrl: sx150x: use correct registers for reg_sense (sx1502 and sx1508)
All other registers on these chips are 8-bit, but reg_sense is 16-bits
and therefore needs to be moved down one notch.
This was apparently overlooked in the conversion to regmap, which only

Peter Rosin ec61168bc0 pinctrl: sx150x: support setting multiple pins at once
If the chip does not have an oscio pin, all pins are configured in
the same regmap register making it trivial to update all pins at
once, so do that. If an oscio pin is present, there needs to be
more locking in place to handle all cases correctly, so this is

called avb_mdio. In pfc-r8a7795 the avb_mdc group already existed and
is in use in DT. Therefore add the ADV_MDIO pin to the existing group
instead of renaming it.

Pins not associated with a GPIO port can still have other configuration
parameters. Add a new macro SH_PFC_PIN_NAMED_CFG which allows for named
pins to be declared with a set of configurations. The new macro is an
modification of SH_PFC_PIN_NAMED to allow for optional configuration to
be assigned.

The flag SH_PFC_PIN_CFG_NO_GPIO is still enforced as this should only be
used to define pins not associated with a GPIO port.

Niklas Söderlund c314c9f15a pinctrl: sh-pfc: Add helper to handle bias lookup table
On some SoC there are no simple mapping of pins to bias register bits
and a lookup table is needed. This logic is already implemented in some
SoC specific drivers that could benefit from a generic implementation.

Add helpers to deal with the lookup which later can be used by the SoC
specific drivers. The logic used to lookup are different from the one it
aims to replace, this is intentional. This new method reduces the memory
consumption at the cost of increased CPU usage and fix a bug where a
WARN() would incorrectly be triggered if the register offset is 0.

Niklas Söderlund 5d7400c4ac pinctrl: sh-pfc: Do not unconditionally support PIN_CONFIG_BIAS_DISABLE
Always stating PIN_CONFIG_BIAS_DISABLE is supported gives untrue output
when examining /sys/kernel/debug/pinctrl/e6060000.pfc/pinconf-pins if
the operation get_bias() is implemented but the pin is not handled by
the get_bias() implementation. In that case the output will state that
"input bias disabled" indicating that this pin has bias control
support.

Make support for PIN_CONFIG_BIAS_DISABLE depend on that the pin either
supports SH_PFC_PIN_CFG_PULL_UP or SH_PFC_PIN_CFG_PULL_DOWN. This also
solves the issue where SoC specific implementations print error messages
if their particular implementation of {set,get}_bias() is called with a
pin it does not know about.

Maxime Ripard 7c926492d3 pinctrl: sunxi: Add support for interrupt debouncing
The pin controller found in the Allwinner SoCs has support for interrupts
debouncing.

However, this is not done per-pin, preventing us from using the generic
pinconf binding for that, but per irq bank, which, depending on the SoC,
ranges from one to five.

Introduce a device-wide property to deal with this using a microsecond
resolution. We can re-use the per-pin input-debounce property for that, so
let's do it!

Chen-Yu Tsai 5181482719 pinctrl: sunxi: Make sunxi_pconf_group_set use sunxi_pconf_reg helper
The sunxi_pconf_reg helper introduced in the last patch gives us the
chance to rework sunxi_pconf_group_set to have it match the structure
of sunxi_pconf_(group_)get and make it easier to understand.

For each config to set, it:

    1. checks if the parameter is supported.
    2. checks if the argument is within limits.
    3. converts argument to the register value.
    4. writes to the register with spinlock held.

As a result the function now blocks unsupported config parameters,
instead of silently ignoring them.

Chen-Yu Tsai c5fda170e8 pinctrl: sunxi: Add support for fetching pinconf settings from hardware
The sunxi pinctrl driver only caches whatever pinconf setting was last
set on a given pingroup. This is not particularly helpful, nor is it
correct.

Fix this by actually reading the hardware registers and returning
the correct results or error codes. Also filter out unsupported
pinconf settings. Since this driver has a peculiar setup of 1 pin
per group, we can support both pin and pingroup pinconf setting
read back with the same code. The sunxi_pconf_reg helper and code
structure is inspired by pinctrl-msm.

With this done we can also claim to support generic pinconf, by
setting .is_generic = true in pinconf_ops.

Also remove the cached config value. The behavior of this was never
correct, as it only cached 1 setting instead of all of them. Since
we can now read back settings directly from the hardware, it is no
longer required.

According to pinconf-generic.h, the argument for
PIN_CONFIG_BIAS_PULL_{DOWN,UP} is non-zero if the bias is enabled
with a pull up/down resistor, zero if it is directly connected
to VDD or ground.

Since Allwinner hardware uses a weak pull resistor internally,
the argument should be 1.

Chen-Yu Tsai 88f01a1bd0 pinctrl: sunxi: Free configs in pinctrl_map only if it is a config map
In the recently refactored sunxi pinctrl library, we are only allocating
one set of pin configs for each pinmux setting node. When the pinctrl_map
structure is freed, the pin configs should also be freed. However the
code assumed the first map would contain the configs, which actually
never happens, as the mux function map gets added first.

The proper way to do this is to look through all the maps and free the
first one whose type is actually PIN_MAP_TYPE_CONFIGS_GROUP.

Also slightly expand the comment explaining this.

Paul Gortmaker 23d511f6fe pinctrl: vt8500: make bool drivers explicitly non-modular
None of the Kconfigs for any of these drivers are tristate, meaning
that they currently are not being built as a module by anyone.

Lets remove the modular code that is essentially orphaned, so that
when reading the drivers there is no doubt they are builtin-only.  All
drivers get the exact same change, so they are handled in batch.

Changes are (1) use builtin_platform_driver, (2) use init.h header
(3) delete module_exit related code, (4) delete MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE,
(5) delete MODULE_LICENCE/MODULE_AUTHOR and associated tags and (6)
drop ".remove" code and prevent sysfs unbind attempts to call ".remove".

Once this is done, the shared remove function in wmt.[ch] is no longer
used and hence it is removed as well.

Since module_platform_driver() uses the same init level priority as
builtin_platform_driver() the init ordering remains unchanged with
this commit.

Also note that MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE is a no-op for non-modular code.

We also delete the MODULE_LICENSE etc. tags since all that information
is already contained at the top of each file in the comments.

Phil Elwell 00445b5d58 pinctrl: bcm2835: Fix ints for GPIOs 28-31 & 46-53
Contrary to the documentation, the BCM2835 GPIO controller actually
has four interrupt lines - one each for the three IRQ groups and one
common. Confusingly, the GPIO interrupt groups don't correspond
directly with the GPIO control banks. Instead, GPIOs 0-27 generate IRQ
GPIO0, 28-45 IRQ GPIO1 and 46-53 IRQ GPIO2.

Awkwardly, the GPIOs for IRQ GPIO1 straddle two 32-entry GPIO banks,
so split out a function to process the interrupts for a single GPIO
bank.

The difference between 8 and 16 pin GPIO expanders can be accomodated by
the means of regmap API without resorting to using driver-specific
read/write accessors. This change, IMHO, brings the following benefits:

	- Replaces driver's idiosyncratic way of dealing with
	  mult-register fields with regmap API, which, hopefuly,
	  makes the code a bit easier for a new reader to understand

	- Removes various multi-read for-loop register read logic
	  from various places in the code and puts it in a signle
	  place

	- Removes ad-hoc IRQ register caching code in
	  sx150x_irq_bus_sync_unlock, since that functionality is
	  provided by regmap

Besided aforementioned benefits this change also implements necessary
RegSense byte swap necessary for SX1503 and SX1506 variants of the chip.

Andrew Jeffery a33547cc76 pinctrl-aspeed-g5: Never set SCU90[6]
If a pin depending on bit 6 in SCU90 is requested for GPIO, the export
will succeed but changes to the GPIO's value will not be accepted by the
hardware. This is because the pinmux driver has misconfigured the SCU by
writing 1 to the reserved bit.

The description of SCU90[6] from the datasheet is 'Reserved, must keep
at value ”0”'. The fix is to switch pinmux from the bit-flipping macro
to explicitly configuring the .enable and .disable values to zero.

The patch has been tested on an AST2500 EVB.

Currently, the DT for these platforms uses the msm8x74 pinctrl driver to
enable basic UART.  Beyond the first few pins the rest are different enough
to justify it's own driver.

Note: This driver is also used by QCOM's msm8992 platform as it's TLM block
is the same.

Paul Gortmaker 0c8c6ba00c pinctrl: sunxi: make bool drivers explicitly non-modular
None of the Kconfigs for any of these drivers are tristate,
meaning that they currently are not being built as a module by anyone.

Lets remove the modular code that is essentially orphaned, so that
when reading the drivers there is no doubt they are builtin-only.  All
drivers get essentially the same change, so they are handled in batch.

Changes are (1) use builtin_platform_driver, (2) use init.h header
(3) delete module_exit related code, (4) delete MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE,
and (5) delete MODULE_LICENCE/MODULE_AUTHOR and associated tags.

Since module_platform_driver() uses the same init level priority as
builtin_platform_driver() the init ordering remains unchanged with
this commit.

Also note that MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE is a no-op for non-modular code.

We do delete the MODULE_LICENSE etc. tags since all that information
is already contained at the top of each file in the comments.

Mika Westerberg d2cdf5dc58 pinctrl: cherryview: Prevent possible interrupt storm on resume
When the system is suspended to S3 the BIOS might re-initialize certain
GPIO pins back to their original state or it may re-program interrupt mask
of others. For example Acer TravelMate B116-M had BIOS bug where certain
GPIO pin (MF_ISH_GPIO_5) was programmed to trigger on high level, and the
pin state was high once the BIOS gave control to the OS on resume.

This triggers lots of messages like:

We reset the mask back to known state in chv_pinctrl_resume() but that is
called only after device interrupts have already been enabled.

Now, this particular issue was fixed by upgrading the BIOS to the latest
(v1.23) but not everybody upgrades their BIOSes so we fix it up in the
driver as well.

Prevent the possible interrupt storm by moving suspend and resume hooks to
be called at _noirq time instead. Since device interrupts are still
disabled we can restore the mask back to known state before interrupt storm
happens.

Stefan Wahren b83bd893f3 pinctrl: bcm2835: reduce GPPUD set-up time
Since the BCM2835 datasheet doesn't exactly specify the set-up time for
the GPIO Pull-up/down Clock Registers there was an assumption of 150 cycles
at a clock rate of 1 MHz. During a discussion [1] in the Raspberry Pi forum
it turns out that clock rate refers to the VPU which has a rate of 250 MHz.
So we can reduce the delay to a sensible value and update the comment above.

I tested this optimization with a Raspberry Pi B and a multimeter.

Stefan Agner 9999fe5df5 pinctrl: imx: reset group index on probe
Group index is incremented on every new group parsed. Since the
field is part of struct imx_pinctrl_soc_info, which is typically
a global variable passed by the individual pinctrl-imx.c based
driver, it does not get cleared automatically when re-probing the
driver. This lead imx_pinctrl_parse_functions passing a group
pointer which is outside of the allocated group space on second
probe and onwards. Typically this ended up in a NULL pointer
dereference when accessing the name field like this:

Avoid this by setting group_index to 0 on probe.

default bus"), ARM64 platform devices are populated at the
arch_initcall_sync level; as a result, the platform_driver_probe calls

Neil Armstrong 9e80f9064e pinctrl: Add SX150X GPIO Extender Pinctrl Driver
Since the I2C sx150x GPIO expander driver uses platform_data to manage
the pins configurations, rewrite the driver as a pinctrl driver using
pinconf to get/set pin configurations from DT or debugfs.

The pinctrl driver is functionnally equivalent as the gpio-only driver
and can use DT for pinconf. The platform_data confirmation is dropped.

This patchset removed the gpio-only driver and selects the Pinctrl driver
config instead. This patchset also migrates the gpio dt-bindings to pinctrl
and add the pinctrl optional properties.

The driver was tested with a SX1509 device on a BeagleBone black with
interrupt support and on an X86_64 machine over an I2C to USB converter.

This is a fixed version that builds and runs on non-OF platforms and on
arm based OF. The GPIO version is removed and the bindings are also moved
to the pinctrl bindings.

Mika Westerberg c538b94367 pinctrl: intel: Only restore pins that are used by the driver
Dell XPS 13 (and maybe some others) uses a GPIO (CPU_GP_1) during suspend
to explicitly disable USB touchscreen interrupt. This is done to prevent
situation where the lid is closed the touchscreen is left functional.

The pinctrl driver (wrongly) assumes it owns all pins which are owned by
host and not locked down. It is perfectly fine for BIOS to use those pins
as it is also considered as host in this context.

What happens is that when the lid of Dell XPS 13 is closed, the BIOS
configures CPU_GP_1 low disabling the touchscreen interrupt. During resume
we restore all host owned pins to the known state which includes CPU_GP_1
and this overwrites what the BIOS has programmed there causing the
touchscreen to fail as no interrupts are reaching the CPU anymore.

Fix this by restoring only those pins we know are explicitly requested by
the kernel one way or other.

Andrew Jeffery 8eb37aff76 pinctrl: aspeed-g5: Fix pin association of SPI1 function
The SPI1 function was associated with the wrong pins: The functions that
those pins provide is either an SPI debug or passthrough function
coupled to SPI1. Make the SPI1 mux function configure the relevant pins
and associate new SPI1DEBUG and SPI1PASSTHRU functions with the pins
that were already defined.

The notation used in the datasheet's multi-function pin table for the SoC is
often creative: in this case the SYS* signals are enabled by a single bit,
which is nothing unusual on its own, but in this case the bit was also
participating in a multi-bit bitfield and therefore represented multiple
functions. This fact was overlooked in the original patch.

Andrew Jeffery 5366f1460c pinctrl: aspeed: "Not enabled" is a significant mux state
Consider a scenario with one pin P that has two signals A and B, where A
is defined to be higher priority than B: That is, if the mux IP is in a
state that would consider both A and B to be active on P, then A will be
the active signal.

To instead configure B as the active signal we must configure the mux so
that A is inactive. The mux state for signals can be described by
logical operations on one or more bits from one or more registers (a
"signal expression"), which in some cases leads to aliased mux states for
a particular signal. Further, signals described by multi-bit bitfields
often do not only need to record the states that would make them active
(the "enable" expressions), but also the states that makes them inactive
(the "disable" expressions). All of this combined leads to four possible
states for a signal:

         1. A signal is active with respect to an "enable" expression
         2. A signal is not active with respect to an "enable" expression
         3. A signal is inactive with respect to a "disable" expression
         4. A signal is not inactive with respect to a "disable" expression

In the case of P, if we are looking to activate B without explicitly
having configured A it's enough to consider A inactive if all of A's
"enable" signal expressions evaluate to "not active". If any evaluate to
"active" then the corresponding "disable" states must be applied so it
becomes inactive.

For example, on the AST2400 the pins composing GPIO bank H provide
signals ROMD8 through ROMD15 (high priority) and those for UART6 (low
priority). The mux states for ROMD8 through ROMD15 are aliased, i.e.
there are two mux states that result in the respective signals being
configured:

         A. SCU90[6]=1
         B. Strap[4,1:0]=100

Further, the second mux state is a 3-bit bitfield that explicitly
defines the enabled state but the disabled state is implicit, i.e. if
Strap[4,1:0] is not exactly "100" then ROMD8 through ROMD15 are not
considered active. This requires the mux function evaluation logic to
use approach 2. above, however the existing code was using approach 3.
The problem was brought to light on the Palmetto machines where the
strap register value is 0x120ce416, and prevented GPIO requests in bank
H from succeeding despite the hardware being in a position to allow
them.

Linus Walleij 031ba28a81 gpio: acpi: separation of concerns
The generic GPIO library directly implement code for acpi_find_gpio()
which is only used with CONFIG_ACPI. This was probably done because
OF did the same thing, but I removed that so remove this too.

Rename the internal acpi_find_gpio() in gpiolib-acpi.c to
acpi_populate_gpio_lookup() which seems to be more appropriate anyway
so as to avoid a namespace clash with the same function.

Make the stub return -ENOENT rather than -ENOSYS (as that is for
syscalls!).

For some reason the sunxi pin control driver was including the private
gpiolib header, it works just fine without it so remove that oneliner.

On some Intel BXT platform, wake-up from suspend-to-idle on pressing
power-button is not working. Its noticed that gpio-keys driver marking the
second level IRQ/power-button as wake capable but Intel pintctrl
driver is missing to mark GPIO chip/controller IRQ which first level IRQ
as wake cable if its GPIO pin IRQ is wakeble. So, though the first level
IRQ gets generated on power-button press, since it is not marked as
wake capable resume/wake-up flow is not happening.
Intel pintctrl/GPIO driver need to mark GPIO chip/controller IRQ (first
level IRQ) as wake capable iff GPIO pin's IRQ (second level IRQ) is marked
as wake cable.
