commit 858f1299fd upstream.
We do not use the virtual engines for interrupts (they have physical
components), but we do use them to decouple the fence signaling during
submission. Currently, when we submit a completed request, we try to
enable the interrupt handler for the virtual engine, but we never disarm
it. A quick fix is then to mark the irq as enabled, and it will then
remain enabled -- and this prevents us from waking the device and never
letting it sleep again.

drivers/gpu/drm/radeon/ci_dpm.c:5654:2: warning: Attempt to free released memory [unix.Malloc]

problem is reported in ci_dpm_fini, with these code blocks.
for (i = 0; i < rdev->pm.dpm.num_ps; i++) {
kfree(rdev->pm.dpm.ps[i].ps_priv);
}
kfree(rdev->pm.dpm.ps);
The first free happens in ci_parse_power_table where it cleans up locally
on a failure. ci_dpm_fini also does a cleanup.
ret = ci_parse_power_table(rdev);
if (ret) {
ci_dpm_fini(rdev);
return ret;
}
So remove the cleanup in ci_parse_power_table and
move the num_ps calculation to inside the loop so ci_dpm_fini
will know how many array elements to free.

Currently when a host1x device driver is unregistered, it is not
detached from the host1x controller, which means that the device
will stay around and when the driver is registered again, it may
bind to the old, stale device rather than the new one that was
created from scratch upon driver registration. This in turn can
cause various weird crashes within the driver core because it is
confronted with a device that was already deleted.
Fix this by detaching the driver from the host1x controller when
it is unregistered. This ensures that the deleted device also is
no longer present in the device list that drivers will bind to.

ttm_bo_add_move_fence() invokes dma_fence_get(), which returns a
reference of the specified dma_fence object to "fence" with increased
refcnt.
When ttm_bo_add_move_fence() returns, local variable "fence" becomes
invalid, so the refcount should be decreased to keep refcount balanced.
The reference counting issue happens in one exception handling path of
ttm_bo_add_move_fence(). When no_wait_gpu flag is equals to true, the
function forgets to decrease the refcnt increased by dma_fence_get(),
causing a refcnt leak.
Fix this issue by calling dma_fence_put() when no_wait_gpu flag is
equals to true.

commit 6eb3cf2e06 upstream.
[Why]
Changes that are fast don't require updating DLG parameters making
this call unnecessary. Considering this is an expensive call it should
not be done on every flip.
DML touches clocks, p-state support, DLG params and a few other DC
internal flags and these aren't expected during fast. A hang has been
reported with this change when called on every flip which suggests that
modifying these fields is not recommended behavior on fast updates.
[How]
Guard the validation to only happen if update type isn't FAST.

This patch adds user-configurable CRC region support.
The users may choose a region of interest(ROI) as the CRC source
(i.e., the CRC evaluation window) via the debugfs control node.
The ROI cannot exceed the display region as indicated by
drm_crtc_state->adjusted_mode. The users may write a string in
the fashion of "roi:x1,y1,x2,y2" to the node to specify the ROI
within the display region. The inclusive position at (x1, y1)
indicates the upper left of the region, while the exclusive
position at (x2, y2) indicates the lower right of the region.

[ Upstream commit 873a95e0d5 ]
Currently we only poll for an ACT up to 30 times, with a busy-wait delay
of 100µs between each attempt - giving us a timeout of 2900µs. While
this might seem sensible, it would appear that in certain scenarios it
can take dramatically longer then that for us to receive an ACT. On one
of the EVGA MST hubs that I have available, I observed said hub
sometimes taking longer then a second before signalling the ACT. These
delays mostly seem to occur when previous sideband messages we've sent
are NAKd by the hub, however it wouldn't be particularly surprising if
it's possible to reproduce times like this simply by introducing branch
devices with large LCTs since payload allocations have to take effect on
every downstream device up to the payload's target.
So, instead of just retrying 30 times we poll for the ACT for up to 3ms,
and additionally use usleep_range() to avoid a very long and rude
busy-wait. Note that the previous retry count of 30 appears to have been
arbitrarily chosen, as I can't find any mention of a recommended timeout
or retry count for ACTs in the DisplayPort 2.0 specification. This also
goes for the range we were previously using for udelay(), although I
suspect that was just copied from the recommended delay for link
training on SST devices.

Changes since v2:

[Why]
Whenever we switch between tiled formats without also switching pixel
formats or doing anything else that recreates the DC plane state we
can run into underflow or hangs since we're not updating the
DML parameters before committing to the hardware.
[How]
If the update type is FULL then call validate_bandwidth again to update
the DML parmeters before committing the state.
This is basically just a workaround and protective measure against
update types being added DC where we could run into this issue in
the future.
We can only fully validate the state in advance before applying it to
the hardware if we recreate all the plane and stream states since
we can't modify what's currently in use.
The next step is to update DM to ensure that we're creating the plane
and stream states for whatever could potentially be a full update in
DC to pre-emptively recreate the state for DC global validation.
The workaround can stay until this has been fixed in DM.

Situation Nomal, issue disappear.
[Why]
Through a period of time debugging with Sys Eng team and SMU team, Sys
Eng team said this is voltage/frequency marginal issue not a F/W or H/W
bug. This experiment proves that default targetPsm [for f=1400MHz] is
not sufficient when GFXOFF is enabled on Picasso.
SMU team think it is an odd test conditions to force sclk="1400MHz" when
GPU is in "gfxoff" state, then wake up the GFX. SCLK should be in the
"lowest frequency" when gfxoff.
[How]
Disable gfxoff when setting manual mode.
Enable gfxoff when setting other mode(exiting manual mode) again.
By the way, from the user point of view, now that user switch to manual
mode and force SCLK Frequency, he don't want SCLK be controlled by
workload. It becomes meaningless to "switch to manual mode" if APU enter "gfxoff"
due to lack of workload at this point.

commit 17839856fd upstream.
Doing a "get_user_pages()" on a copy-on-write page for reading can be
ambiguous: the page can be COW'ed at any time afterwards, and the
direction of a COW event isn't defined.
Yes, whoever writes to it will generally do the COW, but if the thread
that did the get_user_pages() unmapped the page before the write (and
that could happen due to memory pressure in addition to any outright
action), the writer could also just take over the old page instead.
End result: the get_user_pages() call might result in a page pointer
that is no longer associated with the original VM, and is associated
with - and controlled by - another VM having taken it over instead.
So when doing a get_user_pages() on a COW mapping, the only really safe
thing to do would be to break the COW when getting the page, even when
only getting it for reading.
At the same time, some users simply don't even care.
For example, the perf code wants to look up the page not because it
cares about the page, but because the code simply wants to look up the
physical address of the access for informational purposes, and doesn't
really care about races when a page might be unmapped and remapped
elsewhere.
This adds logic to force a COW event by setting FOLL_WRITE on any
copy-on-write mapping when FOLL_GET (or FOLL_PIN) is used to get a page
pointer as a result.
The current semantics end up being:
- __get_user_pages_fast(): no change. If you don't ask for a write,
you won't break COW. You'd better know what you're doing.
- get_user_pages_fast(): the fast-case "look it up in the page tables
without anything getting mmap_sem" now refuses to follow a read-only
page, since it might need COW breaking. Which happens in the slow
path - the fast path doesn't know if the memory might be COW or not.
- get_user_pages() (including the slow-path fallback for gup_fast()):
for a COW mapping, turn on FOLL_WRITE for FOLL_GET/FOLL_PIN, with
very similar semantics to FOLL_FORCE.
If it turns out that we want finer granularity (ie "only break COW when
it might actually matter" - things like the zero page are special and
don't need to be broken) we might need to push these semantics deeper
into the lookup fault path. So if people care enough, it's possible
that we might end up adding a new internal FOLL_BREAK_COW flag to go
with the internal FOLL_COW flag we already have for tracking "I had a
COW".
Alternatively, if it turns out that different callers might want to
explicitly control the forced COW break behavior, we might even want to
make such a flag visible to the users of get_user_pages() instead of
using the above default semantics.
But for now, this is mostly commentary on the issue (this commit message
being a lot bigger than the patch, and that patch in turn is almost all
comments), with that minimal "enable COW breaking early" logic using the
existing FOLL_WRITE behavior.
[ It might be worth noting that we've always had this ambiguity, and it
could arguably be seen as a user-space issue.
You only get private COW mappings that could break either way in
situations where user space is doing cooperative things (ie fork()
before an execve() etc), but it _is_ surprising and very subtle, and
fork() is supposed to give you independent address spaces.
So let's treat this as a kernel issue and make the semantics of
get_user_pages() easier to understand. Note that obviously a true
shared mapping will still get a page that can change under us, so this
does _not_ mean that get_user_pages() somehow returns any "stable"

commit 40b697e256 upstream.
The GC860 has one GPU device which has a 2d and 3d core. In this case
we want to expose perfmon information for both cores.
The driver has one array which contains all possible perfmon domains
with some meta data - doms_meta. Here we can see that for the GC860
two elements of that array are relevant:
doms_3d: is at index 0 in the doms_meta array with 8 perfmon domains
doms_2d: is at index 1 in the doms_meta array with 1 perfmon domain
The userspace driver wants to get a list of all perfmon domains and
their perfmon signals. This is done by iterating over all domains and
their signals. If the userspace driver wants to access the domain with
id 8 the kernel driver fails and returns invalid data from doms_3d with
and invalid offset.
This results in:
Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address 00000000
On such a device it is not possible to use the userspace driver at all.
The fix for this off-by-one error is quite simple.

The YUV formats were removed from graphics plane and RGB ones were removed from
video planes. That's because, in general, one will use a window manager and the
UI will always reside on the graphics plane, while video playback will go to
the overlay planes.
However, this move affects users using custom applications that would like to
use 2 graphics planes and one video plane. Or 3 graphics planes.
DCSS is perfectly capable of scanning out RGB/YUV linear formats on all 3
pipes. Only tiled and tiled-compressed formats need special treatment:
tiled-compressed graphics has to always go to pipe 1 (since DEC400D is needed
for uncompressing the graphics format) whilst tiled-uncompressed and
tiled-compressed VPU formats need to always go to pipes 2 and 3 (DTRC will
handle de-tiling and decompression).

Analogix_dp driver acquires all its resources in the ->bind() callback,
what is a bit against the component driver based approach, where the
driver initialization is split into a probe(), where all resources are
gathered, and a bind(), where all objects are created and a compound
driver is initialized.
Extract all the resource related operations to analogix_dp_probe() and
analogix_dp_remove(), then call them before/after registration of the
device components from the main Exynos DP and Rockchip DP drivers. Also
move the plat_data initialization to the probe() to make it available for
the analogix_dp_probe() function.
This fixes the multiple calls to the bind() of the DRM compound driver

commit 87b7ebc2e1 upstream.
[why]
We have seen a green screen after resume from suspend in a Raven system
connected with two displays (HDMI and DP) on X based system. We noticed
that this issue is related to bad DCC metadata from user space which may
generate hangs and consequently an underflow on HUBP. After taking a
deep look at the code path we realized that after resume we try to
restore the commit with the DCC enabled framebuffer but the framebuffer
is no longer valid.
[how]
This problem was only reported on Raven based system and after suspend,
for this reason, this commit adds a new parameter on
fill_plane_dcc_attributes() to give the option of disabling DCC
programmatically. In summary, for disabling DCC we first verify if is a
Raven system and if it is in suspend; if both conditions are true we
disable DCC temporarily, otherwise, it is enabled.

The DispID DTD pixel clock is documented as:
"00 00 00 h → FF FF FF h | Pixel clock ÷ 10,000 0.01 → 167,772.16 Mega Pixels per Sec"
Which seems to imply that we to add one to the raw value.
Reality seems to agree as there are tiled displays in the wild
which currently show a 10kHz difference in the pixel clock
between the tiles (one tile gets its mode from the base EDID,
the other from the DispID block).

If a plane isn't being actively enabled or disabled then DC won't
always recalculate scaling rects and ratios for the primary plane.
This results in only a partial or corrupted rect being displayed on

[How]
Add back the logic to recalculate the scaling rects into
dc_commit_updates_for_stream since this is the expected place to

Normally, this logic is reasonable for usages. But sometimes, if

one device does not exist in one pipeline will cause displays

So in order to support this kind of cases, even if no panel and

"nouveau 0000:01:00.0: can't change power state from D3cold to D0 (config

Move 'rpm_suspended' initialization to probe(), since the
bind() function may be called more one times. And between
these calls, the 'rpm_suspended' may be changed by runtime
resume/suspend.
But due to asynchronous rpm mode exists and it can also
cause pending rpm requests to be canceled, so runtime
resume/suspend may not appear in pairs strictly when code
runs into the second bind().
So initializing 'rpm_suspended' in bind() can mess up the

The issues caused by:
commit 64e62bdf04 ("drm/dp_mst: Remove VCPI while disabling topology
mgr")
Prompted me to take a closer look at how we clear the payload state in
general when disabling the topology, and it turns out there's actually
two subtle issues here.
The first is that we're not grabbing &mgr.payload_lock when clearing the
payloads in drm_dp_mst_topology_mgr_set_mst(). Seeing as the canonical
lock order is &mgr.payload_lock -> &mgr.lock (because we always want
&mgr.lock to be the inner-most lock so topology validation always
works), this makes perfect sense. It also means that -technically- there
could be racing between someone calling
drm_dp_mst_topology_mgr_set_mst() to disable the topology, along with a
modeset occurring that's modifying the payload state at the same time.
The second is the more obvious issue that Wayne Lin discovered, that
we're not clearing proposed_payloads when disabling the topology.
I actually can't see any obvious places where the racing caused by the
first issue would break something, and it could be that some of our
higher-level locks already prevent this by happenstance, but better safe
then sorry. So, let's make it so that drm_dp_mst_topology_mgr_set_mst()
first grabs &mgr.payload_lock followed by &mgr.lock so that we never
race when modifying the payload state. Then, we also clear
proposed_payloads to fix the original issue of enabling a new topology
with a dirty payload state. This doesn't clear any of the drm_dp_vcpi
structures, but those are getting destroyed along with the ports anyway.
Changes since v1:
* Use sizeof(mgr->payloads[0])/sizeof(mgr->proposed_vcpis[0]) instead -

When the master imx-drm-core binding fails, component_bind_all()
in imx-drm-core ->bind() callback will unbind all bound components
first and then call drm_mode_config_cleanup(). Since the encoder
and connector(located in imx_ldb.imx_ldb_channel) are freed after
the ldb ->unbind() callback, drm_mode_config_cleanup() would
accidentally access the freed encoder and connector again. To fix
this issue, we should cleanup the encoder and connector, i.e.,
remove them from the global encoder and connector lists, in the
->unbind() callback, so that, drm_mode_config_cleanup() won't find
them again in the lists. However, we have to make sure they exist
before the cleanup in the ->unbind() callback, because imx-drm-core
->unbind() calls drm_mode_config_cleanup() first and then unbinds
all components via component_unbind_all(). Moreover, the connector
isn't created at the first place if a bridge exists, so the check
before the cleanup makes sense for this reason as well.

This fixes a problem found on the MacBookPro 2017 Retina panel:
The panel reports 10 bpc color depth in its EDID, and the
firmware chooses link settings at boot which support enough
bandwidth for 10 bpc (324000 kbit/sec aka LINK_RATE_RBR2
aka 0xc), but the DP_MAX_LINK_RATE dpcd register only reports
2.7 Gbps (multiplier value 0xa) as possible, in direct
contradiction of what the firmware successfully set up.
This restricts the panel to 8 bpc, not providing the full
color depth of the panel on Linux <= 5.5. Additionally, commit
'4a8ca46bae8a ("drm/amd/display: Default max bpc to 16 for eDP")'
introduced into Linux 5.6-rc1 will unclamp panel depth to
its full 10 bpc, thereby requiring a eDP bandwidth for all
modes that exceeds the bandwidth available and causes all modes
to fail validation -> No modes for the laptop panel -> failure
to set any mode -> Panel goes dark.
This patch adds a quirk specific to the MBP 2017 15" Retina
panel to override reported max link rate to the correct maximum
of 0xc = LINK_RATE_RBR2 to fix the darkness and reduced display
precision.
Please apply for Linux 5.6+ to avoid regressing Apple MBP panel
support.

Swath sizes are being calculated incorrectly. The horizontal swath size
should be the product of block height, viewport width, and bytes per

this is that we report the wrong DCC caps.

Use viewport width in the horizontal swath size calculation and viewport
height in the vertical swath size calculation.

commit 1b79cfd99f upstream.
This reverts commit ff57c65138.
With the commit ff57c65138 ("drm: kirin: Fix for hikey620
display offset problem") we added support for handling LDI
overflows by resetting the hardware.
However, its been observed that when we do hit the LDI overflow
condition, the irq seems to be screaming, and we do nothing but
stream:
[drm:ade_irq_handler [kirin_drm]] *ERROR* LDI underflow!
over and over to the screen
I've tried a few appraoches to avoid this, but none has yet
been successful and the cure here is worse then the original
disease, so revert this for now.

At the moment, only DRM_MODE_ROTATE_180 is allowed when we try to apply
the rotation from the video mode parameters. It is also useful to allow
DRM_MODE_ROTATE_0 in case there is only a reflect option in the video mode
parameter (e.g. video=540x960,reflect_x).
DRM_MODE_ROTATE_0 means "no rotation" and should therefore not require
any special handling, so we can just add it to the if condition.

At the moment there is no validation for this when parsing video=
parameters from the command line. This causes problems later on
when we try to combine the command line rotation with the panel

To make sure that we generate a valid rotation value:
- Set DRM_MODE_ROTATE_0 by default (if no rotate= option is set)
- Validate that there is exactly one rotation angle set

I was hitting kCFI crashes when building with clang, and after
some digging finally narrowed it down to the
dsi_mgr_connector_mode_valid() function being implemented as
returning an int, instead of an enum drm_mode_status.
This patch fixes it, and appeases the opaque word of the kCFI
gods (seriously, clang inlining everything makes the kCFI
backtraces only really rough estimates of where things went
wrong).

The baseline I'd like to keep is the compile-test of uapi headers.

It's the last user, and more importantly, it's the last non-legacy
user of anything in drm_pci.c.
The only tricky bit is the agp initialization. But a close look shows
that radeon does not use the drm_agp midlayer (the main use of that is
drm_bufs for legacy drivers), and instead could use the agp subsystem
directly (like nouveau does already). Hence we can just pull this in
too.
A further step would be to entirely drop the use of drm_device->agp,
but feels like too much churn just for this patch.

On PowerPC, the compiler will tag object files with whether they
use hard or soft float FP ABI and whether they use 64 or 128-bit
long double ABI. On systems with 64-bit long double ABI, a tag
will get emitted whenever a double is used, as on those systems
a long double is the same as a double. This will prevent linkage
as other files are being compiled with hard-float.
On ppc64, this code will never actually get used for the time

Renoir APUs. Therefore, until this is testable and can be fixed

Link training fails with:
Link training timeout waiting for LT_LOOPDONE!
main link enable error: -110
This is caused by too tight timeouts, which were changed recently in
aa92213f38 ("drm/bridge: tc358767: Simplify polling in tc_link_training()").
With a quick glance, the commit does not change the timeouts. However,
the method of delaying/sleeping is different, and as the timeout in the
previous implementation was not explicit, the new version in practice
has much tighter timeout.
The same change was made to other parts in the driver, but the link
training timeout is the only one I have seen causing issues.
Nevertheless, 1 us sleep is not very sane, and the timeouts look pretty
tight, so lets fix all the timeouts.
One exception was the aux busy poll, where the poll sleep was much
longer than necessary (or optimal).
I measured the times on my setup, and now the sleep times are set to
such values that they result in multiple loops, but not too many (say,
5-10 loops). The timeouts were all increased to 100ms, which should be
more than enough for all of these, but in case of bad errors, shouldn't
stop the driver as multi-second timeouts could do.

commit 82c69bf586 upstream.
In order to avoid confusing the HW, we must never submit an empty ring
during lite-restore, that is we should always advance the RING_TAIL
before submitting to stay ahead of the RING_HEAD.
Normally this is prevented by keeping a couple of spare NOPs in the
request->wa_tail so that on resubmission we can advance the tail. This
relies on the request only being resubmitted once, which is the normal
condition as it is seen once for ELSP[1] and then later in ELSP[0]. On
preemption, the requests are unwound and the tail reset back to the
normal end point (as we know the request is incomplete and therefore its
RING_HEAD is even earlier).
However, if this w/a should fail we would try and resubmit the request
with the RING_TAIL already set to the location of this request's wa_tail
potentially causing a GPU hang. We can spot when we do try and
incorrectly resubmit without advancing the RING_TAIL and spare any
embarrassment by forcing the context restore.
In the case of preempt-to-busy, we leave the requests running on the HW
while we unwind. As the ring is still live, we cannot rewind our
rq->tail without forcing a reload so leave it set to rq->wa_tail and
only force a reload if we resubmit after a lite-restore. (Normally, the
forced reload will be a part of the preemption event.)

are executed in reverse order, the best way is to manually call enable
on the panel_bridge right after our pre_enable call.
Without this manual call, the order of execution is as follows:
1. panel_bridge pre_enable (translated into panel prepare)
2. nwl-dsi pre_enable
3. nwl-dsi enable
4. panel_bridge enable (translated into panel enable)
Since there is no way to move 4. before 3., this is the reason for which
step 4. is manually executed right after step 2.

In order to avoid garbage data left in RTRAM after disabling CRTC,
the SoC designer suggests us to disable DPRC repeat_en after FrameGen
FGEN is cleared and before ENSTS is cleared. Also, it is suggested
that FGEN clearing should be done in the frame prior to DPRC repeat_en
disablement. So, syncing to FrameGen frame counter moving is needed.
The disablement procedure should be done as soon as possible, so we
disable local irq and preemption during the procedure to ensure this.

The SoC designer suggests us to disable DPRC repeat_en right after
FrameGen frame counter moving so that a plane with prefetch engine
can be disabled correctly on-the-fly. This helps the plane be
enabled again later without flashing at the initial several lines
fetched by the plane. The DPRC repeat_en disablement should be done
as soon as the FrameGen frame counter moving, which requires us to
disable preemption and irq. However, based on tests, there is no
malfunction observed without the strict sequence implemented.
So, tag this as FIXME to achieve some simplicity for now.

In case of tiled displays, if we hotplug just one connector,
fbcon currently just selects the preferred mode and if it is
tiled mode then that becomes a problem if rest of the tiles are
not present.
So in the fbdev driver on hotplug when we probe the client modeset,
if we dont find all the connectors for all tiles, then on a connector
with one tile, just fallback to the first available non tiled mode
to display over a single connector.
On the hotplug of the consecutive tiled connectors, if the tiled mode
no longer exists because of fbcon size limitation, then return
no modes for consecutive tiles but retain the non tiled mode
on the 0th tile.
Use the same logic in case of connected boot case as well.
This has been tested with Dell UP328K tiled monitor.

fix:
amdkfd_pre_reset() would ruin MEC after hypervisor finished the VF FLR,

a limitation to block this sequence:
if we do pre_reset() before VF FLR, it would go KIQ way to do register
