Serge Semin a37a0667e1 usb: dwc3: ulpi: Use VStsDone to detect PHY regs access completion
commit ce722da66d upstream.

In accordance with [1] the DWC_usb3 core sets the GUSB2PHYACCn.VStsDone
bit when the PHY vendor control access is done and clears it when the
application initiates a new transaction. The doc doesn't say anything
about the GUSB2PHYACCn.VStsBsy flag serving for the same purpose. Moreover
we've discovered that the VStsBsy flag can be cleared before the VStsDone
bit. So using the former as a signal of the PHY control registers
completion might be dangerous. Let's have the VStsDone flag utilized
instead then.

Thinh Nguyen 290fcf3e0c usb: dwc3: ep0: Fix delay status handling
commit fa27e2f6c5 upstream.

If we want to send a control status on our own time (through
delayed_status), make sure to handle a case where we may queue the
delayed status before the host requesting for it (when XferNotReady
is generated). Otherwise, the driver won't send anything because it's
not EP0_STATUS_PHASE yet. To resolve this, regardless whether
dwc->ep0state is EP0_STATUS_PHASE, make sure to clear the
dwc->delayed_status flag if dwc3_ep0_send_delayed_status() is called.
The control status can be sent when the host requests it later.

commit d97c78a190 upstream.

According the programming guide (for all DWC3 IPs), when the driver
handles ClearFeature(halt) request, it should issue CLEAR_STALL command
_after_ the END_TRANSFER command completes. The END_TRANSFER command may
take some time to complete. So, delay the ClearFeature(halt) request

interrupt. Only after END_TRANSFER command completes that the driver

The function driver may queue new requests right after halting the

There's no restriction preventing it from doing so. However, dwc3

drop started requests. Keep the pending requests in the pending list to
resume and process them after the host issues ClearFeature(Halt) to the

Thinh Nguyen 1c9e86c933 usb: dwc3: ep0: Fix ZLP for OUT ep0 requests
commit 66706077dc upstream.

The current ZLP handling for ep0 requests is only for control IN
requests. For OUT direction, DWC3 needs to check and setup for MPS
alignment.

Usually, control OUT requests can indicate its transfer size via the
wLength field of the control message. So usb_request->zero is usually
not needed for OUT direction. To handle ZLP OUT for control endpoint,
make sure the TRB is MPS size.

Merge tag 'v5.4.67' into 5.4-2.2.x-imx

This is the 5.4.67 stable release

This updates the kernel present in the NXP release imx_5.4.47_2.2.0 to the
latest patchset available from stable korg.

Base stable kernel version present in the NXP BSP release is v5.4.47.

Following conflicts were recorded and resolved:
- arch/arm/mach-imx/pm-imx6.c
NXP version has a different PM vectoring scheme, where the IRAM bottom
half (8k) is used to store IRAM code and pm_info. Keep this version to
be compatible with NXP PM implementation.

- arch/arm64/boot/dts/freescale/imx8mm-evk.dts
- arch/arm64/boot/dts/freescale/imx8mn-ddr4-evk.dts
NXP patches kept to provide proper LDO setup:
imx8mm-evk.dts: 975d8ab07267ded741c4c5d7500e524c85ab40d3
imx8mn-ddr4-evk.dts: e8e35fd0e759965809f3dca5979a908a09286198

- drivers/crypto/caam/caamalg.c
Keep NXP version, as it already covers the functionality for the
upstream patch [d6bbd4eea2]

- drivers/gpu/drm/imx/dw_hdmi-imx.c
- drivers/gpu/drm/imx/imx-ldb.c
- drivers/gpu/drm/imx/ipuv3/ipuv3-crtc.c
Port changes from upstream commit [1a27987101], which extends
component lifetime by moving drm structures allocation/free from
bind() to probe().

- drivers/gpu/drm/imx/imx-ldb.c
Merge patch [1752ab50e8] from upstream to disable both LVDS channels
when Enoder is disabled

- drivers/mmc/host/sdhci-esdhc-imx.c
Fix merge fuzz produced by [6534c897fd].

- drivers/net/ethernet/freescale/dpaa2/dpaa2-eth.c
Commit d1a00c9bb1 from upstream solves the issue with improper error
reporting when qdisc type support is absent. Upstream version is merged
into NXP implementation.

- drivers/net/ethernet/freescale/enetc/enetc.c
Commit [ce06fcb6a6] from upstream merged,
base NXP version kept

- drivers/net/ethernet/freescale/enetc/enetc_pf.c
Commit [e8b86b4d87] from upstream solves
the kernel panic in case if probing fails. NXP has a clean-up logic
implemented different, where the MDIO remove would be invoked in any
failure case. Keep the NXP logic in place.

- drivers/thermal/imx_thermal.c
Upstream patch [9025a5589c] adds missing
of_node_put call, NXP version has been adapted to accommodate this patch
into the code.

- drivers/usb/cdns3/ep0.c
Manual merge of commit [be8df02707] from
upstream to protect cdns3_check_new_setup

- drivers/xen/swiotlb-xen.c
Port upstream commit cca58a1669 to NXP tree, manual hunk was
resolved during merge.

- sound/soc/fsl/fsl_esai.c
Commit [53057bd4ac] upstream addresses the problem of endless isr in
case if exception interrupt is enabled and tasklet is scheduled. Since
NXP implementation has tasklet removed with commit [2bbe95fe6c],
upstream fix does not match the main implementation, hence we keep the
NXP version here.

- sound/soc/fsl/fsl_sai.c
Apply patch [b8ae2bf5cc] from upstream, which uses FIFO watermark
mask macro.

[ Upstream commit bc9a2e226e ]

Currently dwc3 doesn't handle usb_request->zero for SG requests. This
change checks and prepares extra TRBs for the ZLP for SG requests.

[ Upstream commit d2ee3ff79e ]

The usb_request->zero doesn't apply for isoc. Also, if we prepare a
0-length (ZLP) TRB for the OUT direction, we need to prepare an extra
TRB to pad up to the MPS alignment. Use the same bounce buffer for the
ZLP TRB and the extra pad TRB.

[ Upstream commit 5d187c0454 ]

The SG list may be set up with entry size more than the requested
length. Check the usb_request->length and make sure that we don't setup
the TRBs to send/receive more than requested. This case may occur when
the SG entry is allocated up to a certain minimum size, but the request
length is less than that. It can also occur when the request is reused
for a different request length.

to be the frame length adjustment to be applied when SOF/ITP counter is
running on the ref_clk, the value is derived as follows:
FLADJ_REF_CLK_FLADJ=
((125000/ref_clk_period_integer)-(125000/ref_clk_period)) * ref_clk_period where

- the ref_clk_period_integer is the integer value of the ref_clk period
got by truncating the decimal (fractional) value that is programmed in
the GUCTL.REF_CLK_PERIOD field.
- the ref_clk_period is the ref_clk period including the fractional
value.

For imx8mp case, the ref_clk is 24M, so ref_clk_period_integer is 41,
and fladj is 2032.

Li Jun b65583f4d2 MLK-24206-2 usb: dwc3: imx8mp: only handle hsio clk
Since we leave dwc3 core clocks handled by dwc3 core driver, so
only handle the hsio clock, with this change, we have some follow
up changes on clocks handling:
1. 32KHz suspend clk is not required to handle by SW, because it's
always on, so just put it in dwc3 core node to map the real clks
meaning(bus/ref/suspend), not handle it in this glue layer driver,
this means it will be "off" from SW point view.
2. In host mode, dwc3 core clocks are not off while runtime suspend,
so it's better keep the hsio clock on as well, considering this
and easy handling, we keep the hsio clocks on while runtime pm, only
gate it off while system pm.

John Stultz 20a6d2455c dwc3: Remove check for HWO flag in dwc3_gadget_ep_reclaim_trb_sg()
commit 00e21763f2 upstream.

The check for the HWO flag in dwc3_gadget_ep_reclaim_trb_sg()
causes us to break out of the loop before we call
dwc3_gadget_ep_reclaim_completed_trb(), which is what likely
should be clearing the HWO flag.

This can cause odd behavior where we never reclaim all the trbs
in the sg list, so we never call giveback on a usb req, and that
will causes transfer stalls.

This effectively resovles the adb stalls seen on HiKey960
after userland changes started only using AIO in adbd.

Thinh Nguyen 5087c7f4e7 usb: dwc3: gadget: Properly set maxpacket limit
[ Upstream commit d94ea53198 ]

Currently the calculation of max packet size limit for IN endpoints is
too restrictive. This prevents a matching of a capable hardware endpoint
during configuration. Below is the minimum recommended HW configuration
to support a particular endpoint setup from the databook:

For OUT endpoints, the databook recommended the minimum RxFIFO size to
be at least 3x MaxPacketSize + 3x setup packets size (8 bytes each) +
clock crossing margin (16 bytes).

For IN endpoints, the databook recommended the minimum TxFIFO size to be
at least 3x MaxPacketSize for endpoints that support burst. If the
endpoint doesn't support burst or when the device is operating in USB
2.0 mode, a minimum TxFIFO size of 2x MaxPacketSize is recommended.

Base on these recommendations, we can calculate the MaxPacketSize limit
of each endpoint. This patch revises the IN endpoint MaxPacketSize limit
and also sets the MaxPacketSize limit for OUT endpoints.

[ Upstream commit 7ba6b09fda ]

In certain circumstances, the XHCI SuperSpeed instance in park mode
can fail to recover, thus on Amlogic G12A/G12B/SM1 SoCs when there is high
load on the single XHCI SuperSpeed instance, the controller can crash like:
xhci-hcd xhci-hcd.0.auto: xHCI host not responding to stop endpoint command.
 xhci-hcd xhci-hcd.0.auto: Host halt failed, -110
xhci-hcd xhci-hcd.0.auto: xHCI host controller not responding, assume dead
xhci-hcd xhci-hcd.0.auto: xHCI host not responding to stop endpoint command.

xhci-hcd xhci-hcd.0.auto: HC died; cleaning up
 usb 2-1.1-port1: cannot reset (err = -22)

Setting the PARKMODE_DISABLE_SS bit in the DWC3_USB3_GUCTL1 mitigates
the issue. The bit is described as :
"When this bit is set to '1' all SS bus instances in park mode are disabled"

Synopsys explains:
The GUCTL1.PARKMODE_DISABLE_SS is only available in
dwc_usb3 controller running in host mode.
This should not be set for other IPs.
This can be disabled by default based on IP, but I recommend to have a
property to enable this feature for devices that need this.
