The can_get_echo_skb() function returns the number of received bytes to
be used for netdev statistics. In the case of RTR frames we get a valid
(potential non-zero) data length value which has to be passed for further
operations. But on the wire RTR frames have no payload length. Therefore
the value to be used in the statistics has to be zero for RTR frames.

[ Upstream commit 2283f79b22 ]
If a driver calls can_get_echo_skb() during a hardware IRQ (which is often, but
not always, the case), the 'WARN_ON(in_irq)' in
net/core/skbuff.c#skb_release_head_state() might be triggered, under network
congestion circumstances, together with the potential risk of a NULL pointer
dereference.
The root cause of this issue is the call to kfree_skb() instead of
dev_kfree_skb_irq() in net/core/dev.c#enqueue_to_backlog().
This patch prevents the skb to be freed within the call to netif_rx() by
incrementing its reference count with skb_get(). The skb is finally freed by
one of the in-irq-context safe functions: dev_consume_skb_any() or
dev_kfree_skb_any(). The "any" version is used because some drivers might call
can_get_echo_skb() in a normal context.
The reason for this issue to occur is that initially, in the core network
stack, loopback skb were not supposed to be received in hardware IRQ context.
The CAN stack is an exeption.
This bug was previously reported back in 2017 in [1] but the proposed patch
never got accepted.
While [1] directly modifies net/core/dev.c, we try to propose here a
smoother modification local to CAN network stack (the assumption
behind is that only CAN devices are affected by this issue).

Commit 5a18e1e0c1 introduced the 'failover_pending' state to track
the "failover pending window" - where we wait for the partner to become
ready (after a transport event) before actually attempting to failover.
i.e window is between following two events:
a. we get a transport event due to a FAILOVER
b. later, we get CRQ_INITIALIZED indicating the partner is
ready at which point we schedule a FAILOVER reset.
and ->failover_pending is true during this window.
If during this window, we attempt to open (or close) a device, we pretend
that the operation succeded and let the FAILOVER reset path complete the
operation.
This is fine, except if the transport event ("a" above) occurs during the
open and after open has already checked whether a failover is pending. If
that happens, we fail the open, which can cause the boot scripts to leave
the interface down requiring administrator to manually bring up the device.
This fix "extends" the failover pending window till we are _actually_
ready to perform the failover reset (i.e until after we get the RTNL
lock). Since open() holds the RTNL lock, we can be sure that we either
finish the open or if the open() fails due to the failover pending window,
we can again pretend that open is done and let the failover complete it.
We could try and block the open until failover is completed but a) that
could still timeout the application and b) Existing code "pretends" that
failover occurred "just after" open succeeded, so marks the open successful
and lets the failover complete the open. So, mark the open successful even
if the transport event occurs before we actually start the open.

[ Upstream commit d6a076d68c ]
When PTP timestamping is enabled on Tx, the controller
inserts the Tx timestamp at the beginning of the frame
buffer, between SFD and the L2 frame header. This means
that the skb provided by the stack is required to have
enough headroom otherwise a new skb needs to be created
by the driver to accommodate the timestamp inserted by h/w.
Up until now the driver was relying on the second option,
using skb_realloc_headroom() to create a new skb to accommodate
PTP frames. Turns out that this method is not reliable, as
reallocation of skbs for PTP frames along with the required
overhead (skb_set_owner_w, consume_skb) is causing random
crashes in subsequent skb_*() calls, when multiple concurrent
TCP streams are run at the same time on the same device
(as seen in James' report).
Note that these crashes don't occur with a single TCP stream,
nor with multiple concurrent UDP streams, but only when multiple
TCP streams are run concurrently with the PTP packet flow
(doing skb reallocation).
This patch enforces the first method, by requesting enough
headroom from the stack to accommodate PTP frames, and so avoiding
skb_realloc_headroom() & co, and the crashes no longer occur.
There's no reason not to set needed_headroom to a large enough
value to accommodate PTP frames, so in this regard this patch
is a fix.

Up until now the driver was relying on skb_realloc_headroom()

this method is not reliable in this context at least, as
skb_realloc_headroom() for PTP frames can cause random crashes,
mostly in subsequent skb_*() calls, when multiple concurrent
TCP streams are run at the same time with the PTP flow
on the same device (as seen in James' report). I also noticed
that when the system is loaded by sending multiple TCP streams,
the driver receives cloned skbs in large numbers.
skb_cow_head() instead proves to be stable in this scenario,
and not only handles cloned skbs too but it's also more efficient
and widely used in other drivers.
The commit introducing skb_realloc_headroom in the driver
goes back to 2009, commit 93c1285c5d
("gianfar: reallocate skb when headroom is not enough for fcb").
For practical purposes I'm referencing a newer commit (from 2012)
that brings the code to its current structure (and fixes the PTP
case).

The fr_hard_header function is used to prepend the header to skbs before
transmission. It is used in 3 situations:
1) When a control packet is generated internally in this driver;
2) When a user sends an skb on an Ethernet-emulating PVC device;
3) When a user sends an skb on a normal PVC device.
These 3 situations need to be handled differently by fr_hard_header.
Different headers should be prepended to the skb in different situations.
Currently fr_hard_header distinguishes these 3 situations using
skb->protocol. For situation 1 and 2, a special skb->protocol value
will be assigned before calling fr_hard_header, so that it can recognize
these 2 situations. All skb->protocol values other than these special ones
are treated by fr_hard_header as situation 3.
However, it is possible that in situation 3, the user sends an skb with
one of the special skb->protocol values. In this case, fr_hard_header
would incorrectly treat it as situation 1 or 2.
This patch tries to solve this issue by using skb->dev instead of
skb->protocol to distinguish between these 3 situations. For situation
1, skb->dev would be NULL; for situation 2, skb->dev->type would be
ARPHRD_ETHER; and for situation 3, skb->dev->type would be ARPHRD_DLCI.
This way fr_hard_header would be able to distinguish these 3 situations
correctly regardless what skb->protocol value the user tries to use in
situation 3.

The simulate fail of sdio is not a real sdio transter fail, it only
set an error status in mmc_should_fail_request after the transfer end,
actually the transfer is success, then sdio_io_rw_ext_helper will
return error status and stop transfer the left data. For example,
the really RX len is 286 bytes, then it will split to 2 blocks in
sdio_io_rw_ext_helper, one is 256 bytes, left is 30 bytes, if the
first 256 bytes get an error status by mmc_should_fail_request,then
the left 30 bytes will not read in this RX operation. Then when the
next RX arrive, the left 30 bytes will be considered as the header
of the read, the top 4 bytes of the 30 bytes will be considered as
lookaheads, but actually the 4 bytes is not the lookaheads, so the len
from this lookaheads is not correct, it exceeds max htc length 4088
sometimes. When happened exceeds, the buffer chain is not matched between
firmware and ath10k, then it need to start recovery ASAP. Recently then
recovery will be started by wmi command timeout, but it will be long time
later, for example, it is 60+ seconds later from the periodic scan, if
it does not have periodic scan, it will be longer.
Start recovery when it happened "payload length exceeds max htc length"
will be reasonable.
This patch only effect sdio chips.

Each EMAD transaction stores the skb used to issue the EMAD request
('trans->tx_skb') so that the request could be retried in case of a
timeout. The skb can be freed when a corresponding response is received
or as part of the retry logic (e.g., failed retransmit, exceeded maximum
number of retries).
The two tasks (i.e., response processing and retransmits) are
synchronized by the atomic 'trans->active' field which ensures that
responses to inactive transactions are ignored.
In case of a failed retransmit the transaction is finished and all of
its resources are freed. However, the current code does not mark it as
inactive. Syzkaller was able to hit a race condition in which a
concurrent response is processed while the transaction's resources are
being freed, resulting in a use-after-free [1].
Fix the issue by making sure to mark the transaction as inactive after a
failed retransmit and free its resources only if a concurrent task did
not already do that.

commit 23025393db upstream.
In order to reduce the chance for the system becoming unresponsive due
to event storms triggered by a misbehaving netfront use the lateeoi
irq binding for netback and unmask the event channel only just before
going to sleep waiting for new events.
Make sure not to issue an EOI when none is pending by introducing an
eoi_pending element to struct xenvif_queue.
When no request has been consumed set the spurious flag when sending
the EOI for an interrupt.

commit 478762855b upstream.
In p54p_tx(), skb->data is mapped to streaming DMA on line 337:
mapping = pci_map_single(..., skb->data, ...);
Then skb->data is accessed on line 349:
desc->device_addr = ((struct p54_hdr *)skb->data)->req_id;
This access may cause data inconsistency between CPU cache and hardware.
To fix this problem, ((struct p54_hdr *)skb->data)->req_id is stored in
a local variable before DMA mapping, and then the driver accesses this
local variable instead of skb->data.

As part of the commit b148bb238c
("bnxt_en: Fix possible crash in bnxt_fw_reset_task()."),
cancel_delayed_work_sync() is called only for VFs to fix a possible
crash by cancelling any pending delayed work items. It was assumed
by mistake that the flush_workqueue() call on the PF would flush
delayed work items as well.
As flush_workqueue() does not cancel the delayed workqueue, extend
the fix for PFs. This fix will avoid the system crash, if there are
any pending delayed work items in fw_reset_task() during driver's
.remove() call.
Unify the workqueue cleanup logic for both PF and VF by calling
cancel_work_sync() and cancel_delayed_work_sync() directly in
bnxt_remove_one().

A recent patch has moved the workqueue cleanup logic before
calling unregister_netdev() in bnxt_remove_one(). This caused a
regression because the workqueue can be restarted if the device is
still open. Workqueue cleanup must be done after unregister_netdev().
The workqueue will not restart itself after the device is closed.
Call bnxt_cancel_sp_work() after unregister_netdev() and
call bnxt_dl_fw_reporters_destroy() after that. This fixes the
regession and the original NULL ptr dereference issue.

When a PCIe fatal error occurs, the internal latched BAR addresses
in the chip get reset even though the BAR register values in config
space are retained.
pci_restore_state() will not rewrite the BAR addresses if the
BAR address values are valid, causing the chip's internal BAR addresses
to stay invalid. So we need to zero the BAR registers during PCIe fatal
error to force pci_restore_state() to restore the BAR addresses. These
write cycles to the BAR registers will cause the proper BAR addresses to
latch internally.

Jakub Kicinski brought up a concern in ibmvnic_set_mac().
ibmvnic_set_mac() does this:
ether_addr_copy(adapter->mac_addr, addr->sa_data);
if (adapter->state != VNIC_PROBED)
rc = __ibmvnic_set_mac(netdev, addr->sa_data);
So if state == VNIC_PROBED, the user can assign an invalid address to
adapter->mac_addr, and ibmvnic_set_mac() will still return 0.
The fix is to validate ethernet address at the beginning of
ibmvnic_set_mac(), and move the ether_addr_copy to
the case of "adapter->state != VNIC_PROBED".

In the AER or firmware reset flow, if we are in fatal error state or
if pci_channel_offline() is true, we don't send any commands to the
firmware because the commands will likely not reach the firmware and
most commands don't matter much because the firmware is likely to be
reset imminently.
However, the HWRM_FUNC_RESET command is different and we should always
attempt to send it. In the AER flow for example, the .slot_reset()

effect the proper reset.

The idx in __ath10k_htt_rx_ring_fill_n function lives in
consistent dma region writable by the device. Malfunctional
or malicious device could manipulate such idx to have a OOB
write. Either by
htt->rx_ring.netbufs_ring[idx] = skb;
or by
ath10k_htt_set_paddrs_ring(htt, paddr, idx);
The idx can also be negative as it's signed, giving a large
memory space to write to.
It's possibly exploitable by corruptting a legit pointer with
a skb pointer. And then fill skb with payload as rougue object.
Part of the log here. Sometimes it appears as UAF when writing
to a freed memory by chance.

syzbot is reporting that del_timer_sync() is called from
mwifiex_usb_cleanup_tx_aggr() from mwifiex_unregister_dev() without
checking timer_setup() from mwifiex_usb_tx_init() was called [1].
Ganapathi Bhat proposed a possibly cleaner fix, but it seems that
that fix was forgotten [2].
"grep -FrB1 'del_timer' drivers/ | grep -FA1 '.function)'" says that
currently there are 28 locations which call del_timer[_sync]() only if
that timer's function field was initialized (because timer_setup() sets
that timer's function field). Therefore, let's use same approach here.

enic_dev_wait() has a BUG_ON(in_interrupt()).
Chasing the callers of enic_dev_wait() revealed the gems of enic_reset()
and enic_tx_hang_reset() which are both invoked through work queues in
order to be able to call rtnl_lock(). So far so good.
After locking rtnl both functions acquire enic::enic_api_lock which
serializes against the (ab)use from infiniband. This is where the
trainwreck starts.
enic::enic_api_lock is a spin_lock() which implicitly disables preemption,
but both functions invoke a ton of functions under that lock which can
sleep. The BUG_ON(in_interrupt()) does not trigger in that case because it
can't detect the preempt disabled condition.
This clearly has never been tested with any of the mandatory debug options
for 7+ years, which would have caught that for sure.
Cure it by adding a enic_api_busy member to struct enic, which is modified
and evaluated with enic::enic_api_lock held.
If enic_api_devcmd_proxy_by_index() observes enic::enic_api_busy as true,
it drops enic::enic_api_lock and busy waits for enic::enic_api_busy to
become false.
It would be smarter to wait for a completion of that busy period, but
enic_api_devcmd_proxy_by_index() is called with other spin locks held which
obviously can't sleep.
Remove the BUG_ON(in_interrupt()) check as well because it's incomplete and
with proper debugging enabled the problem would have been caught from the
debug checks in schedule_timeout().

The VLANs and PVIDs on the RTL8366 utilizes a "member

This set-up requires a special ordering: rtl8366_set_pvid()

else the MC will not be properly allocated. Relax this
by factoring out the code obtaining an MC and reuse

increasing. But the data from ath10k gets reset to zero regularly. Channel
active/busy time are then showing incorrect values (less than previous or
sometimes zero) for the currently active channel during successive survey
dump commands.
example:
$ iw dev wlan0 survey dump
Survey data from wlan0

The correct way to handle this is to use the non-clearing

The hdlc_rcv function is used as hdlc_packet_type.func to process any
skb received in the kernel with skb->protocol == htons(ETH_P_HDLC).
The purpose of this function is to provide second-stage processing for
skbs not assigned a "real" L3 skb->protocol value in the first stage.
This function assumes the device from which the skb is received is an
HDLC device (a device created by this module). It assumes that
netdev_priv(dev) returns a pointer to "struct hdlc_device".
However, it is possible that some driver in the kernel (not necessarily
in our control) submits a received skb with skb->protocol ==
htons(ETH_P_HDLC), from a non-HDLC device. In this case, the skb would
still be received by hdlc_rcv. This will cause problems.
hdlc_rcv should be able to recognize and drop invalid skbs. It should
first make sure "dev" is actually an HDLC device, before starting its
processing. This patch adds this check to hdlc_rcv.

The 4-tuple NAT offload via PEDIT always overwrites all the 4-tuple
fields even if they had not been explicitly enabled. If any fields in
the 4-tuple are not enabled, then the hardware overwrites the
disabled fields with zeros, instead of ignoring them.
So, add a parser that can translate the enabled 4-tuple PEDIT fields
to one of the NAT mode combinations supported by the hardware and
hence avoid overwriting disabled fields to 0. Any rule with
unsupported NAT mode combination is rejected.

0704c57436 can: m_can_platform: remove unnecessary m_can_class_resume() call
removed the m_can_class_resume() call in the runtime resume path to get
rid of a infinite recursion, so the runtime resume now only handles the device
clocks.
Unfortunately it did not remove the complementary m_can_class_suspend() call in
the runtime suspend function, so those paths are now unbalanced, which causes
the pinctrl state to get stuck on the "sleep" state, which breaks all CAN
functionality on SoCs where this state is defined. Remove the
m_can_class_suspend() call to fix this.

The phy_reset_after_clk_enable() does a PHY reset, which means the PHY
loses its register settings. The fec_enet_mii_probe() starts the PHY
and does the necessary calls to configure the PHY via PHY framework,
and loads the correct register settings into the PHY. Therefore,
fec_enet_mii_probe() should be called only after the PHY has been
reset, not before as it is now.

The phy_reset_after_clk_enable() is always called with ndev->phydev,
however that pointer may be NULL even though the PHY device instance
already exists and is sufficient to perform the PHY reset.
This condition happens in fec_open(), where the clock must be enabled
first, then the PHY must be reset, and then the PHY IDs can be read
out of the PHY.
If the PHY still is not bound to the MAC, but there is OF PHY node
and a matching PHY device instance already, use the OF PHY node to
obtain the PHY device instance, and then use that PHY device instance
when triggering the PHY reset.

Prior to this fix, in Striding RQ mode the driver was vulnerable when
receiving packets in the range (stride size - headroom, stride size].
Where stride size is calculated by mtu+headroom+tailroom aligned to the
closest power of 2.
Usually, this filtering is performed by the HW, except for a few cases:
- Between 2 VFs over the same PF with different MTUs
- On bluefield, when the host physical function sets a larger MTU than
the ARM has configured on its representor and uplink representor.
When the HW filtering is not present, packets that are larger than MTU
might be harmful for the RQ's integrity, in the following impacts:
1) Overflow from one WQE to the next, causing a memory corruption that
in most cases is unharmful: as the write happens to the headroom of next
packet, which will be overwritten by build_skb(). In very rare cases,
high stress/load, this is harmful. When the next WQE is not yet reposted
and points to existing SKB head.
2) Each oversize packet overflows to the headroom of the next WQE. On
the last WQE of the WQ, where addresses wrap-around, the address of the
remainder headroom does not belong to the next WQE, but it is out of the
memory region range. This results in a HW CQE error that moves the RQ
into an error state.
Solution:
Add a page buffer at the end of each WQE to absorb the leak. Actually
the maximal overflow size is headroom but since all memory units must be
of the same size, we use page size to comply with UMR WQEs. The increase
in memory consumption is of a single page per RQ. Initialize the mkey
with all MTTs pointing to a default page. When the channels are
activated, UMR WQEs will redirect the RX WQEs to the actual memory from
the RQ's pool, while the overflow MTTs remain mapped to the default page.

Upon command completion timeout, driver simulates a forced command
completion. In a rare case where real interrupt for that command arrives
simultaneously, it might release the command entry while the forced
handler might still access it.
Fix that by adding an entry refcount, to track current amount of allowed
handlers. Command entry to be released only when this refcount is
decremented to zero.
Command refcount is always initialized to one. For callback commands,
command completion handler is the symmetric flow to decrement it. For
non-callback commands, it is wait_func().
Before ringing the doorbell, increment the refcount for the real completion
handler. Once the real completion handler is called, it will decrement it.
For callback commands, once the delayed work is scheduled, increment the
refcount. Upon callback command completion handler, we will try to cancel
the timeout callback. In case of success, we need to decrement the callback
refcount as it will never run.
In addition, gather the entry index free and the entry free into a one
flow for all command types release.

commit 9a9e774959 upstream.
The variable "i" isn't initialized back correctly after the first loop
under the label inst_rollback gets executed.
The value of "i" is assigned to be option_count - 1, and the ensuing
loop (under alloc_rollback) begins by initializing i--.
Thus, the value of i when the loop begins execution will now become
i = option_count - 2.
Thus, when kfree(dst_opts[i]) is called in the second loop in this
order, (i.e., inst_rollback followed by alloc_rollback),
dst_optsp[option_count - 2] is the first element freed, and
dst_opts[option_count - 1] does not get freed, and thus, a memory
leak is caused.
This memory leak can be fixed, by assigning i = option_count (instead of
option_count - 1).

commit 77972b55fb upstream.
This reverts commit 1838d6c62f.
This commit moved the ravb_mdio_init() call (and thus the
of_mdiobus_register() call) from the ravb_probe() to the ravb_open()
call. This causes a regression during system resume (s2idle/s2ram), as
new PHY devices cannot be bound while suspended.
During boot, the Micrel PHY is detected like this:
Micrel KSZ9031 Gigabit PHY e6800000.ethernet-ffffffff:00: attached PHY driver [Micrel KSZ9031 Gigabit PHY] (mii_bus:phy_addr=e6800000.ethernet-ffffffff:00, irq=228)
ravb e6800000.ethernet eth0: Link is Up - 1Gbps/Full - flow control off
During system suspend, (A) defer_all_probes is set to true, and (B)
usermodehelper_disabled is set to UMH_DISABLED, to avoid drivers being
probed while suspended.
A. If CONFIG_MODULES=n, phy_device_register() calling device_add()
merely adds the device, but does not probe it yet, as
really_probe() returns early due to defer_all_probes being set:
dpm_resume+0x128/0x4f8

Later, phy_attach_direct() notices no PHY driver has been bound,
and falls back to the Generic PHY, leading to degraded operation:
Generic PHY e6800000.ethernet-ffffffff:00: attached PHY driver [Generic PHY] (mii_bus:phy_addr=e6800000.ethernet-ffffffff:00, irq=POLL)
ravb e6800000.ethernet eth0: Link is Up - 1Gbps/Full - flow control off
B. If CONFIG_MODULES=y, request_module() returns early with -EBUSY due
to UMH_DISABLED, and MDIO initialization fails completely:
mdio_bus e6800000.ethernet-ffffffff:00: error -16 loading PHY driver module for ID 0x00221622
ravb e6800000.ethernet eth0: failed to initialize MDIO
PM: dpm_run_callback(): ravb_resume+0x0/0x1b8 returns -16
PM: Device e6800000.ethernet failed to resume: error -16
Ignoring -EBUSY in phy_request_driver_module(), like was done for
-ENOENT in commit 21e194425a ("net: phy: fix issue with loading

This patch sets skb->protocol before transmitting frames on the HDLC
device, so that a user listening on the HDLC device with an AF_PACKET
socket will see outgoing frames' sll_protocol field correctly set and
consistent with that of incoming frames.
1. Control frames in hdlc_cisco and hdlc_ppp
When these drivers send control frames, skb->protocol is not set.
This value should be set to htons(ETH_P_HDLC), because when receiving
control frames, their skb->protocol is set to htons(ETH_P_HDLC).
When receiving, hdlc_type_trans in hdlc.h is called, which then calls
cisco_type_trans or ppp_type_trans. The skb->protocol of control frames
is set to htons(ETH_P_HDLC) so that the control frames can be received
by hdlc_rcv in hdlc.c, which calls cisco_rx or ppp_rx to process the
control frames.
2. hdlc_fr
When this driver sends control frames, skb->protocol is set to internal
values used in this driver.
When this driver sends data frames (from upper stacked PVC devices),
skb->protocol is the same as that of the user data packet being sent on
the upper PVC device (for normal PVC devices), or is htons(ETH_P_802_3)
(for Ethernet-emulating PVC devices).
However, skb->protocol for both control frames and data frames should be
set to htons(ETH_P_HDLC), because when receiving, all frames received on
the HDLC device will have their skb->protocol set to htons(ETH_P_HDLC).
When receiving, hdlc_type_trans in hdlc.h is called, and because this
driver doesn't provide a type_trans function in struct hdlc_proto,
all frames will have their skb->protocol set to htons(ETH_P_HDLC).
The frames are then received by hdlc_rcv in hdlc.c, which calls fr_rx
to process the frames (control frames are consumed and data frames
are re-received on upper PVC devices).

This driver is a virtual driver stacked on top of Ethernet interfaces.
When this driver transmits data on the Ethernet device, the skb->protocol
setting is inconsistent with the Ethernet header prepended to the skb.
This causes a user listening on the Ethernet interface with an AF_PACKET
socket, to see different sll_protocol values for incoming and outgoing
frames, because incoming frames would have this value set by parsing the
Ethernet header.
This patch changes the skb->protocol value for outgoing Ethernet frames,
making it consistent with the Ethernet header prepended. This makes a
user listening on the Ethernet device with an AF_PACKET socket, to see
the same sll_protocol value for incoming and outgoing frames.

Some WinCE devices face connectivity issues via the NDIS interface. They
fail to register, resulting in -110 timeout errors and failures during the
probe procedure.
In this kind of WinCE devices, the Windows-side ndis driver needs quite
more time to be loaded and configured, so that the linux rndis host queries
to them fail to be responded correctly on time.
More specifically, when INIT is called on the WinCE side - no other
requests can be served by the Client and this results in a failed QUERY
afterwards.
The increase of the waiting time on the side of the linux rndis host in
the command-response loop leaves the INIT process to complete and respond
to a QUERY, which comes afterwards. The WinCE devices with this special
"feature" in their ndis driver are satisfied by this fix.

PVC devices are virtual devices in this driver stacked on top of the
actual HDLC device. They are the devices normal users would use.
PVC devices have two types: normal PVC devices and Ethernet-emulating
PVC devices.
When transmitting data with PVC devices, the ndo_start_xmit function
will prepend a header of 4 or 10 bytes. Currently this driver requests
this headroom to be reserved for normal PVC devices by setting their
hard_header_len to 10. However, this does not work when these devices
are used with AF_PACKET/RAW sockets. Also, this driver does not request
this headroom for Ethernet-emulating PVC devices (but deals with this
problem by reallocating the skb when needed, which is not optimal).
This patch replaces hard_header_len with needed_headroom, and set
needed_headroom for Ethernet-emulating PVC devices, too. This makes
the driver to request headroom for all PVC devices in all cases.

Following commit e186967865 ("mwifiex: Prevent memory corruption

for the password. The kernel log repeats the following lines (id and
bssid redacted):
mwifiex_pcie 0000:01:00.0: info: trying to associate to '<id>' bssid <bssid>

Tracking down this problem lead to the overflow check introduced by the
aforementioned commit into mwifiex_ret_802_11_key_material_v2(). This
check fails on networks with 256 bit keys due to the current storage
size for AES keys in struct mwifiex_aes_param being only 128 bit.

This is the 5.4.67 stable release
This updates the kernel present in the NXP release imx_5.4.47_2.2.0 to the
latest patchset available from stable korg.
Base stable kernel version present in the NXP BSP release is v5.4.47.
Following conflicts were recorded and resolved:
- arch/arm/mach-imx/pm-imx6.c
NXP version has a different PM vectoring scheme, where the IRAM bottom
half (8k) is used to store IRAM code and pm_info. Keep this version to

- drivers/crypto/caam/caamalg.c
Keep NXP version, as it already covers the functionality for the
upstream patch [d6bbd4eea2]
- drivers/gpu/drm/imx/dw_hdmi-imx.c
- drivers/gpu/drm/imx/imx-ldb.c
- drivers/gpu/drm/imx/ipuv3/ipuv3-crtc.c

implemented different, where the MDIO remove would be invoked in any
failure case. Keep the NXP logic in place.
- drivers/thermal/imx_thermal.c
Upstream patch [9025a5589c] adds missing
of_node_put call, NXP version has been adapted to accommodate this patch
into the code.

Returning "unknown" as a temperature value violates the hwmon interface
rules. Appropriate error codes should be returned via device_attribute
show instead. These will ultimately be propagated to the user via the
file system interface.
In addition to the corrected error handling, it is an even better idea to
not present the sensor in sysfs at all if it is known that the read will
definitely fail. Given that temp1_input is currently the only sensor
reported, ensure no hwmon registration if TEMP_MONITOR_QUERY is not
supported or if it will fail due to access permissions. Something smarter
may be needed if and when other sensors are added.

The set of TLS TX global SW counters in mlx5e_tls_sw_stats_desc

This set of stats is used only in the FPGA TLS use case, not in

Do not expose them in the Connect-X use case, as this would cause
counter duplication. For example, tx_tls_drop_no_sync_data would

Currently, when an FTE is allocated, its refcount is decreased to 0
with the purpose it will not be a stand alone steering object and every
rule (destination) of the FTE would increase the refcount.
When mlx5_cleanup_fs is called while not all rules were deleted by the
steering users, it hit refcount underflow on the FTE once clean_tree
calls to tree_remove_node after the deleted rules already decreased
the refcount to 0.
FTE is no longer destroyed implicitly when the last rule (destination)
is deleted. mlx5_del_flow_rules avoids it by increasing the refcount on
the FTE and destroy it explicitly after all rules were deleted. So we
can avoid the refcount underflow by making FTE as stand alone object.
In addition need to set del_hw_func to FTE so the HW object will be
destroyed when the FTE is deleted from the cleanup_tree flow.

There are a couple bugs here:
1) If opt[1] is zero then this results in a forever loop. If the value
is less than 2 then it is invalid.
2) It assumes that "len" is more than sizeof(valid_accm) or 6 which can
result in memory corruption.
In the case of LCP_OPTION_ACCM, then we should check "opt[1]" instead
of "len" because, if "opt[1]" is less than sizeof(valid_accm) then
"nak_len" gets out of sync and it can lead to memory corruption in the
next iterations through the loop. In case of LCP_OPTION_MAGIC, the
only valid value for opt[1] is 6, but the code is trying to log invalid
data so we should only discard the data when "len" is less than 6
because that leads to a read overflow.

This patch adds transport ports information for route lookup so that
IPsec can select Geneve tunnel traffic to do encryption. This is
needed for OVS/OVN IPsec with encrypted Geneve tunnels.
This can be tested by configuring a host-host VPN using an IKE
daemon and specifying port numbers. For example, for an
Openswan-type configuration, the following parameters should be
configured on both hosts and IPsec set up as-per normal:
$ cat /etc/ipsec.conf
conn in
...
left=$IP1
right=$IP2
...
leftprotoport=udp/6081
rightprotoport=udp
...
conn out
...
left=$IP1
right=$IP2
...
leftprotoport=udp
rightprotoport=udp/6081
...
The tunnel can then be setup using "ip" on both hosts (but
changing the relevant IP addresses):
$ ip link add tun type geneve id 1000 remote $IP2
$ ip addr add 192.168.0.1/24 dev tun
$ ip link set tun up
This can then be tested by pinging from $IP1:
$ ping 192.168.0.2
Without this patch the traffic is unencrypted on the wire.

Set the skb's network_header before it is passed to the underlying

This patch fixes the following issue:
When we use this driver with AF_PACKET sockets, there would be error
messages of:
protocol 0805 is buggy, dev (Ethernet interface name)
printed in the system "dmesg" log.
This is because skbs passed down to the Ethernet device for transmission
don't have their network_header properly set, and the dev_queue_xmit_nit
function in net/core/dev.c complains about this.
Reason of setting the network_header to this place (at the end of the
Ethernet header, and at the beginning of the Ethernet payload):
Because when this driver receives an skb from the Ethernet device, the
network_header is also set at this place.

If tg3_reset_task() fails, the device state is left in an inconsistent
state with IFF_RUNNING still set but NAPI state not enabled. A
subsequent operation, such as ifdown or AER error can cause it to
soft lock up when it tries to disable NAPI state.
Fix it by bringing down the device to !IFF_RUNNING state when
tg3_reset_task() fails. tg3_reset_task() running from workqueue
will now call tg3_close() when the reset fails. We need to
modify tg3_reset_task_cancel() slightly to avoid tg3_close()
calling cancel_work_sync() to cancel tg3_reset_task(). Otherwise
cancel_work_sync() will wait forever for tg3_reset_task() to

To flush the vid + mc entries from ALE, which is required when a VLAN
interface is removed, driver needs to call cpsw_ale_flush_multicast()
with ALE_PORT_HOST for port mask as these entries are added only for

after removing the VLAN interface. cpsw_ale_flush_multicast() calls

Remote source MAC addresses can be set on a 'source mode' macvlan
interface via the IFLA_MACVLAN_MACADDR_DATA attribute. This commit
tightens the validation of these MAC addresses to match the validation
already performed when setting or adding a single MAC address via the
IFLA_MACVLAN_MACADDR attribute.
iproute2 uses IFLA_MACVLAN_MACADDR_DATA for its 'macvlan macaddr set'
command, and IFLA_MACVLAN_MACADDR for its 'macvlan macaddr add' command,
which demonstrates the inconsistent behaviour that this commit
addresses:

# ip link set link dev macvlan0 type macvlan macaddr add 01:00:00:00:00:00

This reverts commit 76d164f582.
PCIe hung issue was observed on multiple platforms. The issue was reproduced
when DUT was configured as AP and associated with 50+ STAs.
For QCA9984/QCA9888, the DMA_BURST_SIZE register controls the AXI burst size
of the RD/WR access to the HOST MEM.
0 - No split , RAW read/write transfer size from MAC is put out on bus
as burst length
1 - Split at 256 byte boundary
2,3 - Reserved
With PCIe protocol analyzer, we can see DMA Read crossing 4KB boundary when
issue happened. It broke PCIe spec and caused PCIe stuck. So revert
the default value from 0 to 1.

The reset work is scheduled by the timer routine whenever it
detects that a device reset is required (e.g. when a keep_alive signal
is missing).
When releasing device resources in ena_destroy_device() the driver
cancels the scheduling of the timer routine without destroying the reset
work explicitly.
This creates the following bug:
The driver is suspended and the ena_suspend() function is called
-> This function calls ena_destroy_device() to free the net device
resources
-> The driver waits for the timer routine to finish
its execution and then cancels it, thus preventing from it
to be called again.
If, in its final execution, the timer routine schedules a reset,
the reset routine might be called afterwards,and a redundant call to
ena_restore_device() would be made.
By changing the reset routine we allow it to read the device's state
accurately.
This is achieved by checking whether ENA_FLAG_TRIGGER_RESET flag is set
before resetting the device and making both the destruction function and
the flag check are under rtnl lock.
The ENA_FLAG_TRIGGER_RESET is cleared at the end of the destruction
routine. Also surround the flag check with 'likely' because
we expect that the reset routine would be called only when
ENA_FLAG_TRIGGER_RESET flag is set.
The destruction of the timer and reset services in __ena_shutoff() have to
stay, even though the timer routine is destroyed in ena_destroy_device().
This is to avoid a case in which the reset routine is scheduled after
free_netdev() in __ena_shutoff(), which would create an access to freed
memory in adapter->flags.

When the ARP monitor is used for link detection, ARP replies are
validated for all slaves (arp_validate=3) and fail_over_mac is set to
active, two slaves of an active-backup bond may get stuck in a state
where both of them are active and pass packets that they receive to
the bond. This state makes IPv6 duplicate address detection fail. The
state is reached thus:
1. The current active slave goes down because the ARP target
is not reachable.
2. The current ARP slave is chosen and made active.
3. A new slave is enslaved. This new slave becomes the current active
slave and can reach the ARP target.
As a result, the current ARP slave stays active after the enslave
action has finished and the log is littered with "PROBE BAD" messages:
> bond0: PROBE: c_arp ens10 && cas ens11 BAD
The workaround is to remove the slave with "going back" status from
the bond and re-enslave it. This issue was encountered when DPDK PMD
interfaces were being enslaved to an active-backup bond.
I would be possible to fix the issue in bond_enslave() or
bond_change_active_slave() but the ARP monitor was fixed instead to
keep most of the actions changing the current ARP slave in the ARP
monitor code. The current ARP slave is set as inactive and backup
during the commit phase. A new state, BOND_LINK_FAIL, has been
introduced for slaves in the context of the ARP monitor. This allows
administrators to see how slaves are rotated for sending ARP requests
and attempts are made to find a new active slave.

As far as I understood from the Kconfig help text, this build rule is
used to rebuild the driver firmware, which runs on an old m68k-based
chip. So, you need m68k tools for the firmware rebuild.
wanxl.c is a PCI driver, but CONFIG_M68K does not select CONFIG_HAVE_PCI.
So, you cannot enable CONFIG_WANXL_BUILD_FIRMWARE for ARCH=m68k. In other
words, ifeq ($(ARCH),m68k) is false here.
I am keeping the dead code for now, but rebuilding the firmware requires
'as68k' and 'ld68k', which I do not have in hand.
Instead, the kernel.org m68k GCC [1] successfully built it.
Allowing a user to pass in CROSS_COMPILE_M68K= is handier.

The IPQ806x does not appear to have a functional multicast ethernet
address filter. This was observed as a failure to correctly receive IPv6
packets on a LAN to the all stations address. Checking the vendor driver
shows that it does not attempt to enable the multicast filter and
instead falls back to receiving all multicast packets, internally
setting ALLMULTI.
Use the new fallback support in the dwmac1000 driver to correctly
achieve the same with the mainline IPQ806x driver. Confirmed to fix IPv6

1. Added a skb->len check
This driver expects upper layers to include a pseudo header of 1 byte
when passing down a skb for transmission. This driver will read this
1-byte header. This patch added a skb->len check before reading the
header to make sure the header exists.
2. Changed to use needed_headroom instead of hard_header_len to request
necessary headroom to be allocated
In net/packet/af_packet.c, the function packet_snd first reserves a
headroom of length (dev->hard_header_len + dev->needed_headroom).
Then if the socket is a SOCK_DGRAM socket, it calls dev_hard_header,
which calls dev->header_ops->create, to create the link layer header.
If the socket is a SOCK_RAW socket, it "un-reserves" a headroom of
length (dev->hard_header_len), and assumes the user to provide the
appropriate link layer header.
So according to the logic of af_packet.c, dev->hard_header_len should
be the length of the header that would be created by
dev->header_ops->create.
However, this driver doesn't provide dev->header_ops, so logically
dev->hard_header_len should be 0.
So we should use dev->needed_headroom instead of dev->hard_header_len
to request necessary headroom to be allocated.
This change fixes kernel panic when this driver is used with AF_PACKET
SOCK_RAW sockets.

The coex mechanism used to skip upon the freeze flag is raised.
That will cause the coex mechanism being skipped unexpectedly.
Coex only wanted to keep the TDMA table from being changed by
BT side.
So, check the freeze and reason, if the coex reason is coming
from BT info, skip it, to make sure the coex triggered by Wifi
itself can work.
This is required for the AP mode, while the control flow is
different with STA mode. When starting an AP mode, the AP mode
needs to start working immedaitely after leaving IPS, and the
freeze flag could be raised. If the coex info is skipped, then
the AP mode will not set the antenna owner, leads to TX stuck.

called once for a single port. When intializing the

[ Upstream commit ea060b3526 ]
Drop the bogus endpoint-lookup helper which could end up accepting
interfaces based on endpoints belonging to unrelated altsettings.
Note that the returned bulk pipes and interrupt endpoint descriptor
were never actually used. Instead the bulk-endpoint numbers are
hardcoded to 1 and 2 (matching the specification), while the interrupt-
endpoint descriptor was assumed to be the third descriptor created by
USB core.
Try to bring some order to this by dropping the bogus lookup helper and
adding the missing endpoint sanity checks while keeping the interrupt-
descriptor assumption for now.

[ Upstream commit b5141915b5 ]
The commit cited below removed the RCU read-side critical section from
rtnl_fdb_dump() which means that the ndo_fdb_dump() callback is invoked
without RCU protection.
This results in the following warning [1] in the VXLAN driver, which
relied on the callback being invoked from an RCU read-side critical
section.
Fix this by calling rcu_read_lock() in the VXLAN driver, as already done
in the bridge driver.
